Good opportunity to get a very big goal margin win, although I don’t think it will happen.

BOOOMNAIJA:
The Super Eagles arrived Morocco today (first pic) and had their first training session ahead of their game against Sao tome tomorrow.

The team in the second picture below emerged victorious in d training match.

Will u like to see these guys start tomorrow?

As I said, can't comment fully but with respect to what I saw, the Ghanaian team had clear cut chances to score. With he game ending 4-2 and those chances missed, there is a high chance we could have ended on the disappointing side.

U believe in preparing for excellence and plugging loopholes.

Well said. Cos they were just so bad they couldn't bury them and our defense was caught sleep down to lil details. It needs fix up.

mertens, origi, batshuayi, benteke, ketrlaere and openda. So you believe belgium go leave all these guys go dey chase psv second choice striker?
Make una no dey decieve unaselves

1) Dessers plays for Feyenoord Rotterdam and not PSV. Do your research next time.

2) To know the quality of a Number 9 (Centre Forward), many things are required but let's just focus on these two for the purpose of clarity and to gives us a more detailed analysis :
1) Goal per minute ratio across all competitions
2) European Club Competition performance

Now let's look at and judge their performances over the recently concluded season:

1) Origi played just 598 minutes across all competitions all season. This isn't enough to judge his quality.

2) Batshuayi played 3065 minutes across all competitions all season and ended up scoring 13 goals. This means he scored 13 goals in approximately 34 matches.

3) Benteke played 1225 minutes across all competitions all season and ended up scoring 4 goals. This means he scored 4 goals in approximately 14 matches.

4) Mertens is not a natural Centre Forward. I said Number 9. He's very smart when he plays as a CF but he's more of a winger and he already has his spot on the wings whenever he's fit. 13 goals in 1736 minutes is very impressive. This gives him about 13 goals in 19 games.

5) De Ketelaere is also not a natural Centre Forward. He played 4138 minutes and scored 18 goals. This gives him 18 goals in 46 matches.

6) Openda played 3996 minutes and scored 23 goals. This gives him 23 goals in 44 matches.

7) Dessers played 2152 minutes all season and scored 21 goals. This means he scored 21 goals in 24 games. He also had six assists. This means he had 27 goal contributions in 21 games!!! Read that again.

In the Europa Conference League, Dessers scored 10 goals in just 762 minutes. This means he scored 10 goals in 8 games!! I'll leave you to check the European Club Competition performances of the other players and try comparing them to Dessers' performance.

I'm a big fan of goals per minute ratio because the minutes make the matches and not the other way around.

Note that I based my analysis on the recently concluded season. There's no saying what's going to happen next season but judging from the stats above, if Dessers had decided to play for Belgium, he deserves to be the heir apparent to that CF role, especially when Lukaku is out of form or injured. He's the most in form Belgian striker at the moment. Glad he's also Nigerian.

Let me stop here. My fingers are paining me.

Lukaku is not having poor form just being excluded and denied opportunity by Tuchel.

I like Lukaku. Tuchel's tactics haven't been kind to him.

Only lukaku and origi can bench dessers in the Belgian team. He can play if they play with 2 or more strikers even if lukaku is fit.
He might even bench origi or play alongside him.

Goal per minute ratio is a flawed way of rating strikers especially when they don't play in the same league. Openda and dessers played in the same league but openda scored x2 of dessers league goals, Belgium picking dessers over him is like england picking nketiah over Kane because he has a better goal per minute ratio.

If u agree that dessers was better than openda and the others only because of goal/minute, then u have to agree that vardy was the best striker in the epl last season, or dejong was the second best striker in the laliga last season, dessers was better than haller last season grin, moussa dembele was better than mbappe last season and Ibrahimovic, Scammacha and giovanni simeone where better than Osimhen last season!
