Plateau Diocese Dissociates Self From Denying Members Without PVC Access To Church

Plateau dioceses dissociates self from priests who stopped parishioners from attending mass because they had no PVC.

The Catholic Diocese of Pankshin in Plateau state has distanced itself from the actions of one of its Priests, Rev. Fr. Kefas Gogwim, who on Sunday, June 12, denied parishioners access into the church for failing to show their Permanent Voters Card PVC.

In a viral video, the clergyman could be seen stopping parishioners at the entrance of the church. He asked those with their PVCs to enter the church hall while those without their PVCs to return home. He said his action is to encourage his members to ensure they get their PVCs so they can participate in the forthcoming general elections.

However, in a statement released, the Director of Communications of the Diocese, Rev Fr. Andrew Dewan Danjuma, stated that the action of the priests does not have the approval of the Bishop nor is it a policy of the diocese. The statement adds that the action of the Bishop stands is regretted.

I said it before that it is immoral of a priest to deny anyone salvation or time with God because that person choses not to vote. This is just thrash behaviour.

I'm 100% in support of the church enforcing its members to get their PVCs to perform their civic duty.

Religion and politics are intricately intertwined in Nigeria. Politicians often play the religion card to get votes, including "divide and conquer tactics to win elections.

There's an agenda to Islamize this country. It's not a coincidence the Buhari administration witnessed the rise of Fulani herdsmen, bandits, and the pardon and rehabilitation of Boko Haram terrorists.

It's up to the leaders of Christendom to rouse their flock to take action.

I was there when a great injustice was done to my man Abiola. I was only a little boy in those days. Now I am a man with a big protruding stomach that has been fed fat with the lies of a corrupt political class and a demonic cabalistic government. I am Nigerian, But I am also a failure, I am Urugude the great, Urugude the Political thug, I assemble young men to forment trouble, I also assemble them to eat of the fruits of our struggles. My boys know me and I know them and we are well aware of our capacity to bring sadness to the table and that is our one single commitment to Nation building our ability to balance peace with violence.

I dey laugh grin

This denial by Pankshin Catholic Diocese is akin to the suspension of Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia of Makurdi Diocese who later won the APC ticket.

Fr. Alia was suspended but believe me when I tell you that the Bishop and the Catholic community of Benue State will be his greatest campaigners.

So, you do not expect the Diocese to openly throw their weight behind the action of the priest even as it is covertly in support of the action of the priest.

One thing is simple, the message is sent and more people from Jos will take getting their PVCs more seriously.

A tsunami is coming!

No Compromise in Catholic Church, more reason why they are referred to as the Most Organized Institution in the World

I expect Mr. Peter Obi to visit the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) soonest.
His foot allies like Bishop Kukah, Bishop Peter Ebere, Bishop Okeke of Onitsha, Kiagama of Abuja, Adewale Marthins of Lagos and many others Bishops will speak for him. Catholic Church has over 30million worshipers in Nigeria..

So if God eventually appears in this priest dream and ask him why he didn't let his sheep's inside the church for service,he will tell God that they don't have pvc, someone should educate that priest.

It's insane, it's unheard of. How can mere PVC be a license to worshipping God at His(God's) place of worship? I mean this is inimical in its act.

This is just Nigerians problem, RELIGION.
That was the best decision he took to handle the matter at hand. If the owo incident had happened in his church would the so called diocesan be saying this trash.
We want to cover our dirty linens in the name of religion.
Even the big told us not to be heavenly conscious and earthly foolish.

I am in support of the priest. Possession of the PVC is a social responsibility every eligible citizen must possess. Any means the church/priests deem fit to making her members get the PVC is welcomed.
