Stack and queues in JavaScript can be done using arrays and array methods like shift, unshift and pop. Trees traversal in JavaScript and java is the same though. What's hard to do in JavaScript is heaps.

I was having a discussion with an old time Friend. He's a product of Mathematics and computer science, OAU. I'm not exaggerating, in my life I've not seen someone that knows mathematics like he does. This guy is a beast. Not capping.

He's also into programming, knows Java and Python on an advanced level. So on Sunday, we were talking about tech on ,I now mentioned Leetcode. I was surprised he hadn't even heard about it before, and funny enough he said he knows DS&A quite well, told me he started learning it in 2020. Though he said the thing is tough sha

He said he heard about it from CS Dojo, and decided to learn it for learning sake. The guy didn't see the power of the knowledge he already has. He was even using those technical jargons you guys use here; Array,hashmap, big O notation, how to use algorithms to determine the runtime of code, he talked about so many stuffs I couldn't understand

And I'm like if I knew what this guy know, I won't be in Nigeria. God forbid. I later told him about Leetcode, he said he will check it out and register. I could see the joy in his face when I told him about leetcode

SWE, DS&A and Leetcode issa goal. If hat's the fastest way to leave the trenches for good, and requires me sacrificing sleep and pleasure for sometime in order to get good at it, I will. I swear down

Be careful though, arrays in JavaScript are not queues. Enqueue and dequeue operation should be O(1), while unshift and shift in JavaScript are both O(n). Arrays are completely fine for stacks though.

Opinion:
For those of you who want to learn DSA, y'all should slow down a bit. Learning DSA especially the fundamentals is not concerned at all with leetcode, leetcode is what you do when you're good with the basics.

Honestly with big companies no one cares if you are frontend, backend, embedded systems or whatever. The most important thing is data structures and algorithms. Grinding thousands and thousands of leetcode questions is the koko. They believe once you understand data structures and algorithms you can work in any software field. A frontend software engineer might join a big company like google and start working on embedded systems. So long as you passed through that system they believe you can cope.

In this same nairaland someone is earning 33k USD per month. Another guy here in Lagos cause he knows elixir got a 400k usd per year job in the USA. He stays here in lagos at gbagada. Data structures is the koko. Nothing else is important. I realised it so late and I am paying dearly for my foolishness. I could have been on 7k USD per month remote or relocation out of this shithole.

It happened to me once, it was Python's "pop(0)", same as JavaScript's "shift" which really made my algorithm slow, this scenario is language agnostic though. I usually avoid JavaScript for coding problems, especially complex ones since JavaScript is really unpredictable and can make you go nuts lol, you get mind.

I am already moving away from Upwork, it works for me, but to earn, I have to work like a regular job, moving to selling something. Upworks is a shoot and miss type of ordeal.

Yeah I made over a million in like 3 months and as a beginner. It was cool.
