2-0 Nigeria. Quoting the Ghananian commentator, "that's like a video game, the pass from Ebube was world class".

Chisos!!! The second goal is even more beautiful. Naija 2-0 up. Beautiful buildup to the goal.

Some decent interchange of passes in the middle and then a quick Long ball to the right switching plays to Azeez who fools the Togolese defence by nodding down centrally to Ebube Okere who attacks the ball through the middle from close to the right half space, before executing a sweet through pass to Captain Precious Williams who finished with Aplomb.

These lads are balling. Sweet football. Goal on 22 mins.

HT: Naija U17 2-0 Togo U17

I told you guys this team is capable of executing the ball-on-the-ground passing strategy.

In the first game vs Ghana, we saw a mix of long balls and tiki taka with the long balls dominating for the most parts especially in the second half but today, we are witnessing total tiki taka underlined by high attacking intent.

Beautiful first half from the lads and I hope some can see why Nduka stuck with Kevwe Iyede in the starring XI. The lad's power and strength on the ball has been too much to handle. Would have bagged a brace had his last effort before HT been on target.
The move that created that chance was probably our best passing sequence of the half leading to a chance.

The boys will only get better.

And special shout out to Ebube Okere. Picked up a yellow for a foul on the Togolese captain but the lad has been everywhere in midfield. What a talent. A machine blessed with top cerebral qualities on the ball. His assist was beautiful. One that an Okocha or a Ronaldinho would be proud of.

Damn! Togo with a beautiful FK goal. Ogbabido who came in for Ebube Okere on 62mins was the culprit. And what a peach of a freekick.

Almost like once Ebube stepped away from the game, the Togolese gained some foothold in the middle although Okeke and Oyebanjo have been hardworking. It's just this Ogbabido lad who hasn't settled well into the game.

I understand why Ebube had to be taken off. He is on a yellow and we cannot risk his absence in the Semis.

The team's plays have been more composed today overall but ruthlessness is still lacking. We need to be more ruthless with our chances.

Abubakar Abdullahi (#8 ) is now on as well for captain, Precious Williams. Abdullahi is another fine prospect according to fine observations so we hope he steps up good.

And yes!!!! 3-1. GAME OVER

Nice flick on header from Abubakar Abdullahi who finds Light. And ofcos, Light Eke again scores off the bench. A real super sub.

Naija 3-1 up.

Ogbabido who seemed quite at sea when he came on now seems a little settled into the game. Using his strength nicely in the middle. A big lad.

These final mins have seen Nigeria take some measure of control back in the middle game after seeming to lose their footing a bit after Ebube's withdrawal

When the Togolese scored to make it 2-1, they thought a chance is opened for them to come back but Light shines upon them. Light Eke is a supersub, tireless and hardworking. I like that guy.

3-1 FT. Really wanted us to keep a clean sheet but that FK was just too good.

Good showing overall. Got the win. Got the Semis ticket. We roll on.

And Emmanuel Michael had a much improved showing defensively today and got forward well. His long passes from the left wing channel switching plays to the right were also exquisite. Little wonder he is again picked as the MOTM.

I think Emmanuel Michael is easily the Media's and Fans' favorite at this tournament. Good lad.

What Ghana could not do has been done by Tunisia as they pummeled Japan 3 nil. The BS drew in normal time with Chile and then won on Penalties, not sure if it was a tournament or something.

Miracle Ogwor and Jeremiah Olaleke are turning out to be quite the CB pair. They both had very good games today most especially Ogwor. The #15 playing as LCB ended many dangerous moves and covered his side of the defence superbly. I believe he recorded the most tackles and interceptions combined on the Nigerian side.

And the #2, Yahaya Lawal... that guy is a work horse.
