Joyce drops the call.

(About to return to his car he noticed a poster that has his image on a fence wall. Moves closer)

(He tears it from the wall and returns to his car with it. Arrives home, Orebe gets distracted as he barges into the building boiling).

Orebe:

Rico:
(Shows her the poster)

Orebe:
Is like your head is paining you, you just returned with your violence and started accusing me, how do you know I did it?

Rico:
Don't pretend like this is not your hand print.

Orebe:
Okay, yes, I did, you are making my life miserable right now and you want to have a successful cheating lifestyle?

Rico:
(Yelling)

Orebe:
Yes, but I can't see any guy, so, you shouldn't any lady too.

Rico:

Orebe:
(Cheers herself)
Wow! I feel fulfilled, we are both remaining single till this contract is over.

Rico:
You can try all you can but I still hate you.

Orebe:

(Rico walking away)

Rico:
You should be grateful to me, I blended you up, you good for nothing idiot, I wish you death right now.

Orebe:

Episode 12

(Orebe in a short towel bends over to cream her feet when Rico barge in).

Orebe:
(Screams)
Aaah! Get out!

Rico:
It's my house, don't be rude.

Orebe:
(Yelling)
Shut the hell up and get out.

Rico:
Yes I will.

Goes straight to the bed’s drawer to pick up a lighter.

Orebe:
Uhm! Very soon your liver will turn suya, very soon.

Rico:
It's not your liver, so, shut up.

On his way out.

Rico:
Anyway, you have nice skin and I just noticed that sharp too.

Orebe:
Get out!

Rico:
Stop barking.

He SLAMS the door.

(Orebe in an outing casual wear CLOMP down the stairs to the kitchen, she seems to be in a hurry).

Rico:

Orebe:
(She snubs)

Are you fine? You've been really quiet today, it's so unusual.

Orebe:
Why do you care?

Rico:
I have to.

Orebe:
Mind your business.

(She SLAMS the door as she walks out).


Episode 13
(In Orebe’s parents' house. Orebe’s mum opens the door to her while she falls on her mum's shoulder giving a heartwarming hug as she fights back tears, the shopping bags she held drop).

Mum:
Is everything okay?

Orebe:
I just miss you.

Mum:
I miss you too, we all miss you.

Orebe:
(Tears roll down her check)
I'm sorry mum.

Mum:
No, we are sorry, we made you drop out of school to hustle in the street so you can support your siblings, we are very sorry.

(They disengage).

Mum:
You her crying?

Orebe:
No mummy.
(Touches her face)

Orebe:
Oh, I guess it's tears of joy.

Mum:
I know right, I've never imagined that we will live in a place like this before, you saved us from our miserable life, thank you.

Orebe:
(Tears drop uncontrollably)
Yes mum.

Mum:
You want to start making me cry, it's okay.

She nods, and her mum wipes her tears.

Mum:

Orebe:

(Hands over the shopping bag to her).

Orebe:

Mum:

(Checks the bag's content).

Orebe:
Where is everyone?

Mum:
They all went to school, they will be home soon except your dad who is at work.

(Starts to scale the stairs).

A reasonable reply, that is what I want. You kept me waiting here worried for hours and you just returned with no explanation?

Rico:

She starts to walk away.

He moves closer to pull off the duvet from her body when he feels her hotness.

What?! Orebe have mercy on me! Should I beg you to voice out about your health too? I can't call the doctor now, it's late.

Rico picks up his phone to search on google...

PHONE SCREEN: first aid for high temperature.

Rico:
(Frustrated)
So, I will have to babysit you all night.

He hurries to the bathroom to get a bowl of water and a towel for her body massage.

Episode 14

It's morning, Rico's family doctor is attending to Orebe while Rico is busy searching random things on his phone...

PHONE SCREEN: what are the symptoms of a psycho patient.

The doctor walks to him.

Doctor:
Mr. Rico, your wife's medical reports as arrived.

The doctor focuses on the report.

Doctor:
(Continues)
Well, it says your wife has a fever and there is nothing to worry about.

Rico:
Fever? I thought...

Doctor:
I know what you are thinking but don’t be disappointed, at the appropriate time God we answer your prayers.

Rico:
Ehm, okay sir.

Doctor:
I should be on my way. Make sure she eats well and takes her drug as I've prescribed and do not hesitate to put a call through to me if her condition gets worst.

Rico:
Okay sir.

Immediately after the doctor left, Rico hurries to get a cereal breakfast for Orebe.

Rico:
(Enters the room carrying breakfast in a tray)
Good morning.

Orebe:
(Confused)
Good morning. Why are bringing your food to my room?

Rico:
No, it's yours.

Orebe:
(Sits up)

Rico:
(Places it before her)

Orebe:

Rico takes a spoon full of cereal and eats.

He obeys to satisfy her.

Orebe:

Orebe:
(Takes the spoon from him)
Let me sha eat and if there is poison inside, we will both die.

She starts to eat while Rico watches her.

Orebe:
(Mouth filled)

Rico:
Nothing, I just remembered the day we met at the audition room. You were really funny that day you know, and I saw more than the acting you did too, I saw your determination and struggles, I had no choice but to hire you.

Orebe:
Uhmmmm.

Rico:
(Chuckles)
Seriously, I felt you will be a good business partner but I guess I was wrong.

Orebe:
What do you mean?

Rico:
Orebe, don't you think it's time we stop have been mean and rude to each other, this contract can be successful without our unnecessary argument.

Orebe:
(Paused)
Rico?

Rico:
Yes?

Orebe:
What was your dream about last night?

Rico:
Maybe you.

Orebe:
You never told me you've started to act comedy oh.

Rico:
C'mon, I'm serious.

Orebe:
Curious ni.

She continues to eat. Rico watches her so many thoughts cross through his mind that makes him lose guard to his emotion and he finds himself planting a kiss on her lips. He withdrawals immediately after he regains his consciousness. The moment feels awkward for both of them.

Rico:
Excuse me.
He walks out of the room.

Orebe runs down the stairs to Rico, whose eyes are glued to the TV screen.

Orebe:
(Screaming)
Rico! What is the meaning of what you did this morning?

Rico:
Thank God you are now fine.

Orebe:
(Yelling)
What are you saying? You kissed me and acted like nothing happened, It wasn’t part of the contract.

Rico:
(Pissed)
It was just a kiss and it was a mistake, no big deal now.

Orebe:
Of course, it's a big deal.

Rico:
Okay. What do you want?

Orebe:
An apology.

Rico:
On top small kiss? MTCHEWW! abeg gettat.

Orebe:

She returns to her room. A few hours later, Rico's granny is around for a visit. To please his granny, Rico did all the chores including cooking while he treats Orebe with utmost care and respect.

Rico:
Don't worry about today's chore, I will handle everything, just stay with granny and get well soon, okay?

He returns to the kitchen.

Granny:
So, how are you now?

Orebe:
I'm feeling better, thank you.

Granny:
And how has he been treating you?

Orebe:

Granny:

She enters the kitchen and starts to sing.

Orebe:
The Lord is watching youuu, on the judgment day you will cry, on the judgment day you will weep...

Rico:

Orebe returns to the dining to get something from the refrigerator.

Orebe:
They will do like they can't hear us now oh.

Rico:
(Pissed)
What is the colour of your problem? Haven't I told you that I will pay you all I'm owing the next time I receive money?

Orebe:
Okay, what happened to the money you were paid last week?

Rico:

Mary:
(Voice checking)

Rico:

Rico:
I'm lost, doctor.

Doctor:
In the test carried out on her, misoprostol was detected in her blood, hope you know what that means? It an abortion. Thank God you brought her on time, we wouldn't have been able to detect that because misoprostol will disappear from the blood after 6 hours.

Rico:

(Rico bangs the house's main door open and staggers in. Orebe rushed to the door from the kitchen to know who is entering).

Orebe:
Okay. It’s a dog returning to its vomit.

Rico staggeringly falls to the floor as he tries to sit on a sofa, he opens a bottle of alcohol and gulps from it. Orebe watches him with pity as he falls. Then she returns to the kitchen.

Rico:
(Drunk)
Jessicaaa! Why did you do this to me? I spent all my life, my money and my trust to please you. You are such an idiot for leaving me.

Orebe returns to the sitting room.

Orebe:
Rico, I don't know who served you breakfast and I don't care but, please, let me sleep in peace this night, your noise is getting out of hand.

Rico:
(Crying)
Yes! It's Jessica. She took all I have and left me in this lonely world, I trusted her but she betrayed me, she got rid of my baby.

Orebe:
Mmh, interesting but this story is non of my business, anyways, may her soul rest in peace.

Rico:
No! May she rot in hell for deceiving me, she is a fraudster.

She scales the stairs and heads to her room while Rico consoles himself with cigarettes and alcohol. In the middle of the night, Rico's noise gets more intense disturbing Orebe until she wakes. Angry, She flounces to him in the sitting room.

Orebe:
(Furious)
What is the meaning of this? I'm not saying you shouldn't mess yourself up but disturbing my sleep is what I won't tolerate.

Rico:
(Cries)
Jessica ruined my life, now I am nothing.

Orebe:
I think I should call your granny now because you've started to lose control, I don't think I will be able to deal with that.

Rico:
(Weeping profusely)
Of course, do whatever you want, I'm nothing now, I’m ruined, I granny was right, Orebe too, I am nothing but a fool, yes, I am good for nothing, I spent all my life on a fraudster.

His words moved Orebe to empathy, she stops to dial granny's number and--

Orebe:
Do I even have a choice?

She moves closer to console him.

Orebe:
Okay okay, listen to me, you have to man up, yes, I know you are pained about her death but it won't bring her back.

Rico:
I'm ruined! She took everything from me.

Orebe:
(Mutters to herself)
Oh my God, I will I handle this.

Then she wraps her arms rounds him sympathizing.

Orebe:
It's okay, it's okay, you are not finished all will be well.

Rico rests in her arm heartbroken as she cuddles him for a long time. The cuddle starts to get to Rico’s head, he feels like getting more than the cuddle, then he initiates a kiss, they get carried away and they both lose their minds.

(The sitting room litters with alcohol bottles and the remains of smoked cigarettes, Rico on the floor, wakes up to see Orebe dragging her traveling bag down the stairs. Shocked. He jumps up and hurries to her)

Rico:
(Stands in her way)
Orebe, please, don't do this to me, please.

Orebe:
(Bluntly speaking)
Let me go.

Rico:
Please, don't go, please, don't ruin my life I beg you.

Orebe:
Rico, so you can apologize? Are you not the almighty Rico that wants everybody to bow to him and worship him like a god?

Rico:
Look, those days I was a fool, I'm a changed person now.

Orebe:
No, you are not, you only want to make me believe that, so you can further deceive your granny for more money, I'm done with this contract already.

Rico:
Okay okay, I will change the deal to 50, 50.

Orebe:

In granny's house, granny is sitting in the visitors’ room discussing with her domestic staffs when Rico enters. Filled with guilt and fear, he walks toward her sheepishly.

Rico:
Good morning granny.

Granny:
(Looks to his side)

As he sit on the couch opposite granny, she asked her staffs to excuse them.

Rico:
(Anxious)
You...you said you want to see me.

She remains silent till the last staff leaves.

Granny:
Yes. It's a pity, you couldn't keep a contract marriage, so, how will you be able to keep a real marriage?

Rico:
(Shocked)
Emm...

Granny:
You are wondering how I know about that? Let me say, I was in the game all along. You hired her to lie to me, I hired her to teach you lessons.

Rico:
What? So she played me? I will make sure she pays for that.

Granny:
Keep quiet. If you will make her pay, I will make you pay for fraud too.

Rico:
