I sent mine last week Tuesday to Germany. Got there Thurs, they sent it to ircc Friday. No update since. I expect to get a request for pickup this week. Didn't send to Lagos/Abj cos I'm on a time crunch

We have various threads on Canada migration here on nairaland but I could not find any that relates to migrating to Canada via a closed work permit.
Closed work permits are usually for work permits tied to a particular company, i.e you are getting the work permit only for that role in the specified company.
I am currently in the last stage of the process which is awaiting work permit application decision from IRCC.

For me, LMIA was approved February. I applied for closed work permit March 29 2022.
Do we have people going through this process? Please share your timelines

its not technically a guarantee but of those with positive LMIA on the list where it's tracked (managed by indian applicants), all were positive since 2021 but your NOC determines how long it will take for approval. All the rejections were ICT (intra company transfer and LMIA exempt)

How about menial work like agriculture with a positive Lmia, do you think visa would be approved?

Agriculture is on essential processing also. They have high rate of approval, (everything being right).

I can 92% assure you that with a job and positive LMIA, it would be approved. It's just that the approval would take about 1 year. It's not 100% because human errors dey occur too like falsified or unprovable history etc

My application was under GSS. That's what you need to check. Noc 2173. So if your NOC was processed under GSS, you should raise Webform. If not, it's just taking the normal processing time which is about 1 year

Good morning... I came across this amazing thread was so happy. Please I work with research institute (IITA ) as a research scientist kindly let me know if I will be able to secure a job and if my kind of work is priority and also get work permit.
Please is research supervisor/scientist noc among and also able to get LMIA ?

Did my medical since last year because I thought my dummy lawyer would apply by November. If it's GSS do medical before applying. If it's not GSS, do medical on their request. It's important because of how long approval takes for non GSS. So if you do it too early, you might have to do another one because it may expire before your application is approved and travel

No, Its just an employer specific work permit, under TFWP. But you can as well use the job offer, on express entry profile to increase your CRS score. Minimum of 50/max of 200 points, depending on the NOC.

Yes, possible but again not advisable.
If they don't apply together, they won't benefit from the same processing time as the principal applicant.

Pls, what of the primary applicant intend to go with the spouse bug didn't indicate that in the application process until LMIA issued. Reason due to spouse being pregnant and can't take medical scans or covid vaccination. Any hope or chances of spouse applying and joining up later before the expiration of the 2 year TWP. Note: the condition of work/job of principal applicant is temporary basis/schedule.

Pls where did you submit your passport for PPA. Did you submitted it to VFS Cario, VFS Ghana, or VFS Abuja? Because I want to know where one can submit a passport and get it back very fast because I heard that VFS Ghana is now very slow but I am not sure if a Work permit can be submitted directly to VFS Cario
