Gurus please I need your input. I have pgd in Business Administration and I have experience in sales/marketing. Got admission to Cambrian for Business Analytics. Are they in anyway related and Is it good enough for study/career progression if write in my SOP that I intend to start my own business or I should reapply for International Business Management. Though I prefer Business Analytics because it has better prospects, I am trying to play safe. Please advise ejor |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by mrprolifik: 7:40pm On Jun 16, 2022 |
Sam796476: For 3 years your tuition would amount to $51,000cad. ($17,000cad × 3years). For your upkeep for 3 years you will need to show $30,000cad. ($10,000cad × 3years). Other miscellaneous expenses like travelling to Nigeria for 3 years will amount to about $6000cad , it could be more or less but let's stick with $6000cad . Adding all together; $51,000cad + $30 ,000cad + $6000cad = $87,000 cad. You will need to be able to show that you have over $87,000cad available for your study. So if you convert $87,000cad to Naira you should have an idea of how much you need to show to prove to the Visa officer that your sponsor is financially capable of taking care of your studies in Canada. Converting Canadian dollar to Naira based on $1cad = 321Naira. You will need to show a bank account with over 28,000,000 Naira. And also note that you should be able to convince the visa officer that your sponsor will be willing to provide you with that money for the 3 years of your study. I hope it helps. 1 Like |

If your experience in Sales and Marketing is current, Business Analytics is good: you can explain to the VO how your PGD in Business Administration is focused on general business and management and that you need to have analytical skills to improve in your work. Knowing that Business Analysis is Data Science focused on Business, you should convince the VO how Python and Java Programming Languages, Visualisation using Pandas, Tableau etc, Business Intelligence and application of Software Engineering to Business will be a powerful device through which you can excel to the management positions in your current organization. |

Hello Everyone, I received a medical request for my son, his last medical is over a year. For those that got medical request in the past, did you see a place to upload the medical result or is it the one sent from IOM to IRCC that IRCC will look at and update your application status? Toceen2022: So guys, here is my timeline. This journey started in 2020 when I applied to University of New Brunswick, but I wasn't admitted. I wasn't really serious about it then because business was going on fine, that's why I applied to UNB alone. Around April 2021, when dollar issues hit our business so hard, I lost a lot of money and it started to look like the journey will never be possible again. I discuss with my siblings and we knew it's time to make move and leave this country, because exchange rate means a lot in our Importation business. I decided to prioritize this Canada journey and started making a lot of research and reading on nairaland. First of all, I decided to apply to schools supported by Mpower, because 7 figures monthly income has dropped by almost 60%. I contacted many potential supervisors and one from University of Victoria fixed a date for interview. She accepted to be my supervisor and I applied around October 2021. I also applied to University of Manitoba. By February 2022, when I didn't hear from Uvic and Manitoba I quickly applied to Fanshawe, Conestoga and NSCC. March 2022, admissions started rolling in: University of Victoria - Accepted University of Manitoba - Rejected Fanshawe College - Accepted Conestoga College - Accepted NSCC - Accepted I opted for University of Victoria because I have a supervisor, no tuition deposit required and it is a Master's Program. I didn't submit my visa application for about 2 months because I was waiting for funding letter. During this period, I started gathering documents and writing my SOP. When everything was set I contacted Makano to review my SOP. He gave me a thumbs up, but emphasize on writing it as formal letter and did some editing, removing the sub-headings, turning it into paragraphs. I respect him so much for being calm. He sent voice notes to me to explain why he did some things and assured me it's the best. "I have been doing it like that and I've been getting positive results with my clients". That was actually his words. Thank you Makano, I respect you Bro PROFILE * First Time Applicant * Age - 38 * Status - Married with a child (But I applied alone) * School - University of Victoria, Victoria British Columbia * Course - Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies (Master of Arts) * Funding - $5,000 CAD yearly * Duration - 2.8 years (with CO-OP) Timeline and Documents Submitted May 10th - Application Submitted May 13th - Biometrics (Abuja) May 24th - Upfront Medical Updated (done on May 10 in Lagos) June 16th - BVL and PPR Eligibility was not updated to show if it has commenced or not... Documents submitted * Letter of Acceptance (both provisional and unconditional offer after sending official transcript) * Statement of Purpose *International passport * NIN * My birth certificate * Police Certificate (I had to do it because my school requested for it before each student can start their program, either domestic or international students) *Covid 19 vaccination card (double) * E-medical sheet * Resume * N power Teach Program * NYSC certificate * NYSC Call up letter * Letter from my previous employer POF and Home Ties * Mpower Loan Approval - $39,000 usd * My Bank Statement - ₦5,200,000 (6 months - inflow and outflow ₦47,000,000) * Funding offer letter $5,000 CAD (sent through webform when I received it about 2 weeks ago) * Business registration documents CAC * Sales involves and receipts * Land purchase agreement * Land Survey Plan * Cars Documents Family Information * Marriage Certificate * Spouse and Daughter's International passport * Wedding pictures * Pictures with my siblings and mom * Siblings birth certificates * Mom's voter's card * Father's death certificate * Father's Land agreements, land's surveys, building's plans (I indicated that my siblings and I are in charge of his properties and rents. And all the money that comes from it is for our mother since everyone has his/her business and doing fine financially). I also stated that my business generate $1,500 - $2,000 monthly and my wife will be the director in my absence and send 30% of the income to me monthly. While the 30% will go into Mpower repayment plan and 40% for my wife and kid. I also emphasized that she has her own personal business in addition with the 40%. I mentioned the worths of all landed properties but I didn't add any valuation report. It's just crazily expensive when I was charged 10% of the value. Na so I leave am o. I just have to give thanks to Jehovah God, he answered my silent prayers and to everyone here, I saw thank you. Lekiboboe, Makano, Ketima, CentennialGuy and others, you guys always answer my questions, I thank you so much. Please, let's keep this thread going so that others can benefit too. We can only do this if we keep dropping timelines and documents submitted with essential details. I respect those who have left Naija and still contribute to help others without minding the stress of work and study overthere, especially Lekiboboe. May God Almighty continue to bless every step of yours. Thank you all for the "congratulations", may God answer everyone at the right time. 18 Likes |

Yes, there is a lot of prospect with Business Analytics. Remember there is a difference between Business Analytics and Business Analysis...just so that you dont use both words interchangeable in your SOP. The aim of business analytics is data and reporting—examining past business performance and forecasting future business performance. On the other hand, the business analysis focuses on functions and processes— determining business requirements and suggesting solutions. teebullion1: 1 Like |
