Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has boost the Maritime Security with acquisition of more assets to support the Deep Blue Project security architecture otherwise known as Integrated National Security and Waterways Protection Infrastructure. NIMASA received nine interceptor boats, 10 Armoured Vehicles, two UAS and Four new patrol boats.

Announcing the arrival of the additional assets on Thursday, the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh revealed that the agency is working on a sustainability framework to guarantee continuity.

According to the Dr Jamoh, “We are not letting up. The Deep Blue project is still loading as more assets arrive in the country. “Nine interceptor boats, 10 armoured vehicles, two UAS plus four new patrol/enforcement boats. “We are also working on a sustainability framework to guarantee continuity.”

Recall that President Mohammadu Buhari in June of 2021 commissioned the Deep Blue Project, an initiative under former Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to address the spate of maritime insecurity plaguing the nations waters.

Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is the best thing that ever happened to the Nigerian Ministry of Transportation.

Checkout the railway tracks and stations, check out the Lekki Deep Seaport Project and the Deep Blue Project.

So far, sea piracy has gone down to a record level. Nigerian Transport institutions are back to life.

I sincerely wish President Muhammadu Buhari will reappoint him as Minister.

Except you never stole from this contraption, God will punish past and present folks who milked Nigeria dry....even if they're my family members.....when I look at the needy, I foresee a tomorrow when the security of the high and mighth in the land may not help them especially if they are known thieves

I don’t like the APC but as a history student, the Nigerian military was so strong and properly equipped in 1983 during the regime of this same Buhari as a military head of state.

Those equipment he bought then was what kept the Nigerian military going for years as other heads of states/President after him couldn’t do much to ensure continuity

Im not surprised that the same Buhari is seriously equipping the military again now as the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces

No doubts that there’s growing insecurity in the country but all that is internal and most perpetuators are his kinsmen hence the blind eyes that he’s giving it but no external aggressor can dare do that to Nigeria

Kudos to Buhari, as a military general he knows how to modernize the country’s military
