There is something I think we need to address, that's course of study.

I might be wrong but I feel one of the most paramount decisions to make is making a good choice of course. This is crucial because unlike Nigeria where most of us are just about getting a degree ( No matter how irrelevant), the UK lay importance on relevance of course.

Consequently, kindly let's list courses that are relevant and can be used to secure jobs as well as be able to land one sponsorship for skilled worker visa.

I have gone through the list of shortage occupation in the UK but I feel one should not rely ONLY on that information. Reason is, we have known a Master's degree in Public Health to have been a hot cake in the UK for several years. In fact, it is still on the list of shortage occupation.

Unfortunately, I have heard from many people that those that recently studied PH are now looking for something else to specialise in. I think we should address the reason for this.

Kindly let's list relevant courses for Nigerians with:

1. Social Science Background e.g Sociology, Economics, Accounting, Human Resources etc

2. Arts Background: Law, English, Linguistics, Psychology, History & International relations, Religion etc

3. Biosciences: Microbiology, Biochemistry, Zoology, Botany

4. Agriculture: Animal Production, Agricultural Economics & Extension, Crop Production, Food Science & Technology etc

I know Veterinary Medicine is in demand but that's different from Agriculture.

5. Education Courses: Guidance & Counselling, Adult Education, Early childhood Education etc

I saw opportunities for Education on the list but they are limited to certain subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Foreign Languages etc

6. Other Sciences: Mathematics, Statistics,
I think these category can go for Data Science and Analytics, Programming & Software Development, Cyber Security, IT Business Analysis and other Tech courses

I think Engineering, Medicine, Nursing & Other Health Sciences, Geology, Physics, Computer Science graduates will have it easy because their courses seem to be high in demand.

The only thing I am going to add is that people should try to look out for companies that have the license to sponsor skilled workers visa and keep a track or notification on their career page for adverts and apply.

Some companies may not be on the list but are willing to go through the process for the right candidate.

I got PTA within 2 days.
All you need to do is to go to your bank first or after you have filled the form .your bank will approve and you will be on diabirstment list.

Gtbank did this magic for my wife.
we did both pof 50% tuition and PTA at union , we kept on disturbing them.
Approval was rejected severaly.
We approached gtbank for PTA because her flight was on Sunday.GTB gave us a forms to fill and upload along with required docent.this was done on thursday morning and we got her PTA on Friday.

Union escallated on Wednesday and tuition fee dropped on friday.

The learning here is that the bank need to approve.
Because the system is new some bank staff don't really understand how it works.

if they need to escalate to their head office.

Please i need a little clarification on the subject matter.

We are family of 4 Myself ,My wife and two daughters and my wife has applied for an admission into one of the uk universities.
CAS has been given, Biometric Done in Abuja.
But my little fear are as follows:

She has a study gap of 17 years but she is still with in 40years of age. She has a working experience of 15 years with 13 years working experience as a federal civil servant while the other two years was in a teaching Job.

My second fear is that she had her first degree in french Language and she is now going for a master in International Business Mgt.

Is there anything to worry about on the above?
