Hmmm.. This feeling of being rejected isn't funny. I applied March 22, only to be served breakfast on June 16th. Reason: Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable). You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee. My Tuition fee was about #43k for a 1 year program POF: cad $ 11,000 in savings and cad $50,000 study loan. I thought this was sufficient, since the total covers everything. Please, gurus in the house, any advice on how to fire back with a stronger application would be much appreciated. What I have done differently? |

Zainab777:Hi Do your research on either a Thesis-based (research) Masters or a Course-based (no research) Masters in Linguistic programs , go through their admission requirements (usually minimum of 2.1 and good GPA in your last two years in the University e.g the GPA of 400L and 500L for a 5-year program) to see if you are qualified to apply. If it's a Thesis-based Masters you wanna go for, you will most likely be required to secure a supervisor (a Professor) in a Linguistic department of a Canadian university whose Linguistic Area of Research or Specializations aligns with yours before you can apply for the admission. If you get accepted by a Supervisor (Prof.), you stand a good chance of getting a Funded Grad. Scholarship, it might be full or Partial. To secure a supervisor (Professor) whose Research Area or Areas in Linguistic align with yours, take your time to go through everything inside the link below and put it into action. https://www.nairaland.com/6957495/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/648#113697664 If it's a Course-based Masters which is most time self-funded , you can directly apply for the admission If you meet the admission requirements Google the Schools and the Programs below, and do the needful has explained above MA in Linguistics & Applied Linguistics York University, Ontario MA in linguistics University of Calgary, Alberta MA in Linguistics University of Regina, Saskatchewan MA in Applied Linguistics Concordia University, Quebec MA in Linguistics University of Manitoba, Manitoba MA in linguistics Memorial University of Newfoundland, Newfoundland and Labrador MA in Linguistics McGill University, Quebec MA in Linguistics Simon Fraser University, British Columbia MSc in Linguistics University of Alberta, Alberta MA in Linguistics University of Ottawa, Ontario MA in Linguistics (Vancouver) University of British Columbia, British Columbia M.A. in Linguistics University of Toronto, Ontario MA in Applied Linguistics University of Alberta, Alberta MA in Linguistics University of Victoria, British Columbia MA in Applied Linguistics University of Victoria, British Columbia MA in Linguistics Western University, Ontario MA in applied linguistics University of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan MA in Linguistics University of Alberta, Alberta MA in Linguistics Carleton University, Ontario MA in Applied Linguistics (TESL) Brock University, Ontario MA in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies Carleton University, Ontario 2 Likes 2 Shares |
