Sufferingboy: Do the research.... I am from Ika, owa-alero, the same place as okowa, and I can't deny being Igbo. The man who founded the village which we come from is known as odogwu who came on a boat from nri village in Anambra state. All you kids, rather than confirm or do your own research, will just be arguing like kids. I am on my middle age, and I will be stupid to deny my lineage 4 Likes

Totilopussylick: The British created Nigeria. Nigeria means nothing. Tribe means something. It is our origin, culture and tradition. White man created colonisation to destroy Africans and make them nothing. As a yoruba man, I will always defend my fellow yorubas. I will always put yorubas first. Other tribes are not my business. I don't have any problem with anyone. This 2023 election, tinubu is going to be the president and I will vote for him. It won't make sense for me to vote for another tribe when my own is contesting. Regardless whether tinubu is a good or bad person, as long as we are from the same tribe, I have to choose him. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Vinnie2000: Sure. For one, I'd say the Northern divide and rule tactics. Separating people from their kinsmen can make them crave an identity for themselves. We still have Okuns in Kwara/Ekiti today. Secondly, some Okuns speculate that they are aboriginal to the region. However, many oral stories point the Yagba people (closest to SW) as migrants from Ile Ife and others from Oyo. In general, we speak the lingua-franca Yoruba in our churches or when communicating with other Okun tribes (there are 5). In essence, Okun is not a language but a group of 5 Yoruba dialects. 4 Likes |

franchasofficia: This is the first time I'll like an igbo comment on politics. Unbelievable. And that's because your point is objective, reasonable and fair. If igbos could support Osinbajo, then it stands to reason that igbos are behind Obi not because he's igbo but because he "possesses" the qualities you mentioned... real or imagined. 11 Likes 1 Share |

franchasofficia: You are very objective. That's why I usually tell people that the reason I'm supporting Obi is not because he is Igbo but because he's the best among the three top guys. I'm a South Southerner and that doesn't mean much to me when it comes to supporting a presidential aspirant of Nigeria. In 2015, I supported Buhari because the PDP government was very corrupt and wicked. We thought Buhari would help but he failed massively. In 2019, I shifted my support to Atiku because he was better than Buhari. Today, we have a choice to choose between PO, AA, and BAT and there's no way I can support BAT or AA and ignore PO when he's far better than them. I don't do tribal politics because it doesn't make sense to me. Anyone that feels PO isn't a good choice for Nigeria at this time doesn't deserve a better life. It's very clear that BAT/AA is going to be another Buhari presidency. May God help Nigeria because the forces of evil against her seem to be greater than the forces of good. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

DrAkpamudehe: Igbo man stop masquerading,I'm from owa-oyibu.The person you are referring to is was not the founder of owa-alero,his real name according to elders and onuika is edogun which later was igbonise to odogwu,he was from ute-okpu clan and met adagba ni ikoha of present owa-ofien,Adagba was already the odionwere of owa-ofien.......His lineage are the present day holder of the hereditary title of Olihe-ovia of Owa kingdom.... Before you say anything becareful Stop writing rubbish,owa-alero was even founded by a man from Benin so be careful,Okowa ancestors were Benins,he should be careful, anyway make he dey play ludo with Igbos head,we Ikas know him too deep...... 3 Likes 1 Share |

Ifeanyi Okowa is Ika which is just like Ikwerre and Ukwuani. They are Igbo dialects like Ngwa, Owerri, Ohaji, Nsukka, Onitsha, Mbaise, etc. The South East is the geopolitical area that is clamoring for the presidency though. 1 Like |

Sufferingboy:Fake IKA boy. Okowa has said he is an Igbo, what will you poor rat do about it? Nothing. Just go and report him to obi of owa who has always said his ancestors are from NRI kingdom or to the obi of agbor who said his ancestors are from Benin kingdom. 2 Likes |

saintrow1: We need to be friends offline cos we share the same perspective. Actually, you spoke my mind. Exactly what I was trying to explain to someone today though you explained it in a better way. I was telling this person that there's nothing called tribalism. That tribalism is an illusion..an imaginary concept. God forbids I reject my own and support another tribe. Doesn't make good sense. 3 Likes |

Edogun only tricked adagba to unite the people he met in owa-oyibu and Owa-ofien and stole the crown, but he was wasn't the founder of Owa alero like that Igbo claimed above. Descendants of adagba are still alive in owa-ofien village, they are the real owners of Owa(olihe-ovia),that is why in Owa we say Owa ni adagba ni ikoha, because adagba was from ikoha village in Ovia area of Benin,Owa did not start from this children of edogun (including the current Obi efeziormor) Owa existed before they stole they came and stole the crown from adagba. 1 Like |

DrAkpamudehe:not all! Owa people and Igbodo migrated from NRI. While agbor people were majorly kidnapped slaves who were ruled by a run away prince from Benin kingdom who married their daughter and ruled over them. Obi of agbor and obi of owa are not in good terms till date because the latter always claim his NRI origin. 1 Like |
