Would a fully funded PhD cover dependents visa, IHS etc


My wife's expecting two fully funded PhDs and I am anticipating acceptance.
Why? Excellent undergraduate result and an MSc of 6.9/7.0 from a very topnotch federal University in Nigeria. I have deeply prayed and now I want to do my own part.


Please back to my question please. Paradventure she secures one of the two fully funded PhDs and from what I read here so far she doesn't need proof of fund and IHS.

However I as the dependent and one child. Are we covered by the funding?
Do we ( me and my daughter) both need the POF and IHS?


The major wahala is I need to prepare the POF account in advance paradventure her acceptance and CAS comes in any moment. (We dream of emigrating together)

Please I want to be lazy and wait for the outcome of the admission process. However the oversabi mediko in me wants to plan everything out in advance and it's stressing me!
Your advice would help greatly Biko.

Thank you for your response Candybright. My main issue is that no time slots are available from June 2022 to Jan 2023 ( Please see attached image) which I know is weird. So I was hoping someone here has experienced this before and can advise on what to do.

Someone had suggested I wait till midnight which I’ve done and still there are no time slots available. Someone please share your experience on the workaround.

I have applied to 7 schools since 30th of May and I haven't received a single admission letter. I have the school fees and POF sitting in my account but no admission letter talk more of a CAS letter.

I studied Business Admin as my first degree and I applied for MSc. Computer science, am I doing anything wrong? I sent emails to some of the schools and their response was that they have so many applications they are dealing with and they have prioritized applications from agents.

I'm worried I might not meet up with the September resumption date. Please I need advise on how to move forward with this.

That’s less than a month, most schools takes an average of 2months to reapply , you also applied late for September intake

Happy to respond to this

Fully funded PhD in most cases will either be tuition and a monthly stipend
for the international student

Or if it is a full funded PhD for home (UK) student but open to international students, tuition will be paid as home (UK) student and the difference between the fees of a home and international student will have to be paid.

So the first question is, when her funding/contract is ready you will see what it covers and that can tell what evidence of funds you will need to provide(POFs)

Because you have to still apply for your visa, the PhD student will need to pay visa fees and IHS, although you can claim this back if the funding says so.

2. It doesn't cover dependants.

3. As per your Plab journey, it is for you and your wife to decide

Hello,

The latest time is when the dependant is ready, as long as it is done before the MA applies for post study visa. It might be worth ensuring you apply in time (when the MAs current visa validity is still within 6-4 months just to be safe).

Abit of research on post study work visa processes will give you the answer to why.

Please i need a little clarification on the subject matter.

We are family of 4 Myself ,My wife and two daughters and my wife has applied for an admission into one of the uk universities.
CAS has been given, Biometric Done in Abuja.
But my little fear are as follows:

She has a study gap of 17 years but she is still with in 40years of age. She has a working experience of 15 years with 13 years working experience as a federal civil servant while the other two years was in a teaching Job.

My second fear is that she had her first degree in french Language and she is now going for a master in International Business Mgt.

Is there anything to worry about on the above?

As long as you filled all the information correctly, evidence of the wok experience for the study gap like employment letter, promotion letters, payslip you have nothing to worry about. You will surely get your visa

At times opening and closing balance doesn't show and I've been using Zenith Bank since 2010. Usually, I don't interfere in discussions that doesn't concern me, but this true. You may not have experienced this doesn't mean others haven't.

Now to your question..the devil is in the details of that scholarship, some can be very generous to cover accompanying family members while some are not, you just have to wait and see or read up in the school website for clue about details of their scholarships.

You don't need an agent to get an admission, its the simplest thing to do, if you do then you might as well pay the same agent to do your course work for you.

Later you will come back here to blame the agent for messing up your application

Accommodation at the moment seems to be a bit of a drag across England, not sure how it is in Scotland, Wales and NI.

Target website like Zoopla, Rightmove, Open rent, sign up with letting agencies so you are contacted when accommodation is available in the market.

Bear in mind that seeing is truly believing, some pictures may be too good to be true.

You may wish to plan for an air b n b for max a month while you sort out the accommodation.

For a couple, it might be okay to go for a shared doubleroom or a studio (room, toilet/bathroom and kitchen) accommodation

Thank you Duchess. I think you may have raised a valid point. I’ve been using Google chrome browser but I’ll try using a different browser… hopefully that works.

By the way, It’s TLS Ikeja. I decided on it due to it’s proximity to my house.
