Dear Nairalanders, The founder of Nairaland: Seun Osewa has opened his mouth for corruption money. It is a pity that he is now sacrifiicing Nairaland as a tool to malign Peter Obi, indicating that he has always been on the side of Nigerian oppressors all alomg. Seun Osewa you are a disgrace and an embarrasment. FYI. All these efforts spent to malign Peter Obi only proves that Obi is worthy and is helping to spread his popularity. Because nobody can understand how Obi is contesting with two nationally and internationally known criminals, yet Seun is focusing on someone who was only a month ago invited to the house of the UK Prime Minister to discuss sub-saharan Trade. Does Seun understand the level of scrutiny a person has to undergo to get to that level. Someone transparent enough to request that the EFCC come and investigate him. Something Seun's sponsors cannot dare do. Seun we will be waiting for you after the election. You have finally used your hand to compromise Nairaland. It can no longer be perceived as non-bias platform. 2 Likes |

lathrowinger: Tell us the lies. Ignorance is a strong buffer for most Nigerians who cannot appreciate what it means for a country to spend about 92% of its revenue to service debt. A macro-fiscal stress test hints that this economy is finished. I have come to the realization that in Nigeria, it is healthier to wallow in ignorance, lacking in knowledge of some of these things, at least that gives a semblance of peace of mind. This is because it is hard to remain sane when you contemplate how a country’s debt servicing bill has increased by 109 per cent to N896.56bn. This means that Nigeria has also spent N3.83tn on debt servicing payments in 15 months. So having spent a total of N2.93tn on debt servicing payments in 2021, and a total of N896.56bn in the first quarter of 2022, the future is bleaker at least from the point of view of those whose minds can interrogate the overall implications of all these madness, while the ignorant go about their businesses as if nothing “dey happen”. The 2022 budget has a deficit of about N6.25tn, approximately 3.39% of GDP which is slightly above the 3% ceiling set by the Fiscal responsibility Act 2007 (FRA). Yet the Madam at the Ministry of Finance is as calm as ice. The deficit is expected to be financed by new borrowings, on top of the debt trap we already found ourselves. Interestingly, when you factor the fact that non-debt recurrent expenditure of N6.83tn is the largest expense item, with 60% relating to personnel costs at N4.11tn, then all the frivolous traveling across the world by the President and his ministers may make meaning to you. jrusky: Honestly, do they really need to lie?!? Do they really need to exaggerate the great man's achievements??! That just speaks of desperation. What were Buhari's achievements prior to winning in 2015?!! The only thing I expect from Obi's supporters is to let people know the following: 1. He is far better than Buhari in every imaginable and visible way, hence will definitely be an improvement. 2. Since APC has failed altogether, he and his party remain the viable option to salvage the nation. PDP has nothing better to offer. 3. How he plans to correct the errors of Buhari, APC, and PDP. This should suffice.... Not silly exaggerations and half truths! 1 Like |

Unfortunately, you all are playing into the hands of the opposition with all this “Obi this” and “Obi that” They create pages and hurl insults at other aspirants making it seem like the supporters of Obi are trouble makers. Then they conjure fake news which when debunked, makes Obi seem like a liar. Make we dey watch 1 Like |

POLITICS 101 How do you smear your opponent's campaign covertly? Politicians put out a propaganda article in favour of their opponent, waiting a while for it to spread and then debunking it themselves. Classic political manoeuvre. Peter Obi never said anything like this, so where did it emanate from? Trace the first handle that posted this and you'll see it came from either PDP/APC. 1 Like |
