Hello house, please I have a question. I applied on May 17 and did my biometrics on May 24, that same day I saw my biometrics information on the new portal under Applicant information (Biometrics Number, Date of biometrics enrolment and expiry date) but the Biometrics section under Details was saying "we do not need your biometrics, we'll update you if that changes". Then today I noticed that it changed to "We have not received your fingerprints. Check your biometrics request message below for details.". Please what should I do? |

Please, what's the difference between a 1yr masters and a 2yrs masters. And, if one might decide to go for a 1yr master degree programme, does it come with a PGWP? |

Good day Gurus in the house, please I need your advice. I recently secured admission to study in Canada and about to commence my study permit application. I intend using my younger brother as my sponsor, he is a nurse in UK with a skill worker visa. He operates UK and Nigeria bank accounts. Now my question is: 1. Can I use both accounts for my application considering the fact that he has more money in the UK account than Nigerian account? 2. Since he is my younger brother, can that factor affect my application? Thanks as I await responses |

ozzymugabe: 1. You should instead ask him to do a deed of gift for you. He should send the money into your account and show evidence. By this, VOs would not have any reason to doubt the availability of the fund. 2. It doesn't matter, your younger can gift you anything but you must take into account his and his family welfare and financial situation. You know it is not natural if your brother has say €60,000 and he is gifting you €55,000. I myself will also doubt the genuineness. |

Based on my personal experience, it won't affect your application as long as you do the right things to convince the visa officer. Your LOE will be your main tool in convincing the visa officer. Let me share my experience (or rather my husband's). This year, my husband wanted to go for a graduate certificate programme and was worried that because he already had a Masters and his job as well as education was unrelated to his chosen certificate programme, he will not be able to show career progression which will result in a visa refusal. He is a chartered accountant with masters in finance and decided to go for a graduate certificate in data analytics (This was his heart desire. He didn't want to do any other programme). I did extensive research on his behalf here on nairaland and wrote his LOE for him (all LOE guidance can be found here as well just that it is scattered all over. ). He got his visa last Friday after exactly 70 days of submitting his application. All I did in that LOE was to show that his studies will add value to his professional life. Nairaland has a wealth of information for everyone's situation if only you will search for it. Though there are also discouraging posts here, concentrate on those that will allow you to achieve your objective. Above all pray for God's favor and never give up. Infact, in your case too, a graduate certificate in supply chain mgt will add value to your professional life. Keep that in mind. gem123: 7 Likes 1 Share |

Guys please I need help with family application. Who has applied recently on the new portal? I want to apply for a VV for my spouse and not SOWP. To apply for my spouse, I added a new application by clicking the plus sign on the application main page. Please, Is that the right way? To my surprise, there's no option of I want to accompany my spouse. The one closer to my answer is I want to visit my spouse who is an international student. Pls is this right too? Then, it goes on to ask for the address of the spouse who is an international student. I am also just applying and I have no address in Canada yet. Should I just use my Institution address? Lastly, where it asks for national Identity, document number, and date of issue, can I use voters card or international passport instead of NIN because the NIN does not have a date of issue. Thank you in advance for your help. |

Good day House. This platform has been very helpful towards my study abroad process. I just recently secured Masters admission at the University of Windsor for Winter 2023. Please is there any platform for students going to Ontario or Windsor specifically. I would like to be added to the group WhatsApp 08099022012. |

mightysam002: IRCC processes applications differently. Application processing time for one person may be different from another person irrespective of whether they are both attending the same conference. You can keep mailing them though. Kindly order for GCMS notes to see what may be going on. |
