Guys, please if you're reading this, please read it with a clear mind..

I've always loved programming and computers almost since day one. I am that type of person who always wants to know how stuff works and likes to build things... Infact the course I wanted to study 5 years ago when I graduated from sec school was computer science but only God knows what friends and the devil told my dad at that time that made him refused my to study the course. Instead, he made me study pharmacy against my own wish and to cut the long story short, I ended up dropping out of school at 300L because I couldn't continue with the course as it was too much for me.... Now I've been at home, ever since and he has been a thorn in my flesh telling me about how everything is my fault, and reminding me of how my mates would soon graduate and start riding big cars and getting married, throwing insults upon insults on me.. Honestly, I just can't count how many times I cried my self to stupor and considered suicide.. I'm living a very pity full life right now. My dad does not regard me anymore, my Mom has started losing faith in me, no body is willing to help me financially in things I pick interest. I've tried to talk to my mom countless times to help me get a laptop but it's always the I don't have money reply. I don't even want to start with my dad even right from day one, he hates seeing me using gadgets. Sometimes i just feel like the devil is using him to try prevent me from achieving my destiny. and to those that would say a should go and look for a job, for the past 2years I've been at home, I've worked 2 jobs my dad made me quit the first because I normally close late at night (9pm) and I had to quit the second because of the December travel we did last year...and it's not been easy looking for another one

Please I'm begging anyone that is in a Good position to help me with even if its a used laptop no Matter the condition it's in, please. I'd like to Go into embedded systems development or web development... Please if you happen to have any laptop that you rarely use and don't mind Giving out, please help me. Even if I have to make minor repairs on it I don't mind... Please

You shouldn't have dropped out. One of my colleagues has both a degree and a master's in pharmacy and doing well as a developer. You should have strived to graduate even if the grades were bad.

Tell your dad you wanna learn programming and share with him success stories of programming and tech entrepreneurs especially those who were dropout.

If you make him see reasons with you then he should be able to help you get a laptop

I have seen people who are worse than you are in my school but they didn't drop, atimes if a course is too hard they'll rather sourt the course instead.

Gbam op this is something you can try. A base laptop that will get you through full stack web development or embedded systems won't cost less than 180 to 200k. Something that has 8 gig ram, 6th or 7th gen core i5 and maybe 256gig ssd. There's also the thing with purchasing Arduino kits for embedded systems which are in short supply globally. Better to convince your parents especially if they have the resources. There's a lot of people in tech who are successful and didn't finish school. There's timi CEO of bitcoins, Daniel abayomi who just got a job at meta. The Blockchain guy who earns 33k usd a month. There's a lot. Show them to you parents and maybe you can convince them.

It's really sad how uninformed many parents are. I'm sure someone has gone to fill your dad's head that it's Yahoo boys that study Computer Science. That was the mindset when I was in uni. That CS was for dunes and rejects from other fields. You have to talk to your dad. Strike a deal with him.

Ill suggest you go the site donate dot ng, and try to create a campaign that you need a Laptop. And then post the link on literally, every social media platforms. I don't know how you're going to do it, but try to tag those people who are known to help indigent people. I believe this a more "practical" advice than all what has been posted on this thread.

Just have it in mind that this world is a very cold place. No one will help you. Even people who have won't help you. Take the bull by the horns and help yourself. Do anything you must do to survive.

You should also look for a way to actively promote your campaign. Post it on literally every social media platform, so people can see it. You just might be lucky, who knows.
