I left Nigeria in 1986. I retired back to Nigeria in 2019. Single and with an American citizenship and pension. Could pretty much live anywhere in the world but it’s only specifically Ibadan for me.

Why?

It’s the place of my youth and a familiar place ground where I can hang my hat while I traverse the world checking off my bucket list.

If you don’t have to work/make money then Nigeria is okay. I do run and some soft companies though.

To the retirees still abroad, come home. To the young bucks get out as soon as you can.

Abroad is good for hustle and enjoying basic amenities we lack here. Asides this, there is this feeling of emptiness or something missing each time you remember home.
When I was away I was even more current about latest happenings in Naija than those at home so as to feel connected.

I think we all have this wicked attitudes in varying degree, so its time we stop being wicked to ourselves.

The principle is this.
Why hold people down and prevent them from enjoying their lives? The care home is an organised place for aged people. Professionals engage them with various activities alongside regular visit from family members.

Is it better that the life of the last born is put on old because the parents are old and need attention? Which is what happens most times in Nigeria. Someone will continue to worry and not enjoy his/her own life.

That’s what they runaway from when they are abroad but is it fair? I don’t think so.

In Nigeria insurance is useless.

No First world country can exist without insurance.

I can drive my vehicle with piece of mind in the US because I you wreck my car,Insurance buys me another one and my hospital Bill's are paid plus money lost from work.

In Nigeria you are on your own.

That's good for you. But why do we, refuse to solve our issues in Nigeria, we are quite different from other peoples.

Last time I checked,inflation is hitting the whole world wholeheartedly. Last 2month nobody see ordinary groundnut oil 4 Europe use fry ordinary egg. The difference in Exchange rate doesn't benefit anyone in naija because we import virtually everything so in other words the money is subject to a higher inflation back home.

Because the suffering there is not good for old age. Those type of people are selfish people who always run to the most comfortable zones and abandon their relatives at home.

When they are young, diaspora is their favourite. When they get old and begin to pay the price of the enjoyment they had, they will remember "No place like home". If you think they are coming home just because they love home, why did they wait until old age? Are they running from enjoyment in diaspora?

Most of the things you enjoy as a youth will not give you happiness in your old age because they are not what your body and health require in old age. Those people hardly get what pleases old age in diaspora. That is why they run home to search for old-age happiness. There are many reasons.
