There's no duration to it. It is a matter of hunger from the heart and the right motive for wanting Him. I've seen cases where it was instantaneous, just after accepting Jesus into your life, and GBAM, you were informed about the Holy Spirit, and desire came. When you become born-again by gaining access through the Narrow Gate which leads to True-life, you transformation begins, and is likely to take years given most of us have to learn the Truth by wading through the lies we have already been satiated with since our birth. It took the disciples approximately 4 years, so be open to the process taking as long as it will take.

Whatever you term His "unfinished" work must never be in conflict with that which He finished by His death on the cross for it is to be of Jesus Chris. This here is very simple. If it does not align with that which Jesus Christ already established, it means it is not of Jesus Christ. Come one, this isn't rocket science. The same basic ideas applied where God's Old Covenant and the prophets are concerned. The very same applies even with Jesus Christ, God's New Covenant Law and Truth in the Kingdom of God. No man can add, remove or change any of that which has already been decreed by Jesus Christ. Why that remains hard to understand is beyond me.

Did Jesus finish teaching everything he had to teach while in his earthly ministry? A simple yes or no will suffice!

After the indwelling of the spirit, there's another experience known as the baptism of Holy Spirit, also the same as being filled with the spirit/or the spirit upon. It refers to the spirit within the believer finding expression.

The baptism of the holy spirit/being filled with the spirit is when the believer who has believed the gospel yields to the spirit now within him. This is accompanied by a visible manifestation, most especially utterance. All instances of men being filled with the spirit in the New testament shows that they either spoke as a result of yielding to the spirit, or performed actions by the holy ghost.

Then Acts 10:2 clearly shows the type of life Cornelius was already living and the type of man he was long before God Moved and gave him Holy Spirit.



I did not say a person becomes holy by themselves nevertheless, as The Lord hath Commanded, "Be ye holy" therefore, I know that a person can do those which are pleasing in the eyes of The Lord, like Cornelius, David before his errors, Joseph, Noah etc which is what I advocate.

And Acts 10:2 shows Cornelly ticking them. And we do not see him doing any wrong or evil thing.

I am not the judge of holiness but certainly doing wrongs and unrightness does not lead to holiness, that one I can say.



Verse 6 tells you "they gave heed" and verse 13 shows you good time had passed before God Again Moved, and made the apostles act in Verse 14 and 15.

And as you see, unholy Simon was cut off. And lo what was Peter's answer to him?
"thy heart is not right in the Sight of God" .Acts 8:21

Verse 22 shows that he was in wickedness and in iniquity.

So clearly, the others who got The Holy Spirit were guiltless.
