Can one apply for a fiancée after landing. Even though there’s no marriage ties yet?

If you can establish evidence of common-law spousal relationship, yes, you can apply for your fiancé.

Evidences of common-law spousal relationship are sharing and living together in the same apartment for at least one year, sharing or using the same bank account, bill, Insurance etc. Children can also be considered as connection between both.

Canada recognizes common-law relationship. This is a mutual agreement between two people to live together in a manner which depicts that of marriage.

Hi guys, this is very urgent. Is there a need to go along with passport photograph for a medical request at IOM Ikeja?
Also, can I get a passport snapped at IOM internally?

Good morning gurus, remember me? Got rejected sometimes January due to funds, having addressed this I want to fire back… I have some questions though;
1. Do I use the old or new portal? (Familiar with the old portal)
2. Since the red flag was the POF which I’ve addressed now, can I still use same documents submitted before or I add other documents to it? (Yes? What documents?)
3. Medicals is valid for a year right?
Thank you

Do you think webform submission affects processing time? I submitted a webformand i am scare it could affect my response.

Blakmandk:
a friend in Canada told me not to submit a web form until the processing time is complete and you don’t have a response. He said it will make you look desperate and the visa officer might deny it.

Sending webforms and/or emails do not in anyway affect your processing time or your application.
In my case, I started submitting webforms and emails after 13 days when I noticed my medical was not updated to pass despite the fact it was done before submitting my application. I raised webform to Nairobi and Lagos, and I sent mails to all Nairobi, Lagos and Abuja email addresses I came across. 24 hours after that, medical was updated.

When my application was about 22 days, I received a partial funding from my school, and I sent it through webform to Nairobi, Lagos, Beijing and London... And also to all emails found to Nairobi, Lagos and Abuja for 2 days, and added that my eligibility hasn't started and pleaded they should look into it. Although I didn't receive any response. But all in all, PPR dropped without eligibility showing if it has commenced... And my application took 5 weeks and 2days in total.

So, sending webform or email will not affect the outcome of application or processing time. Unless you're changing some documents you've submitted earlier... like MBS, SOP or your own personal information.

Please if I'm going for 2 years program and applying with my family, do i have to show POF for two years or a year? And if I have fund for only a year and I'm ready to explain with evidence (blocks of rented shops in the city) in my sop that I have means of paying my remaining tuition and living expenses for me and my dependants for the remaining year will it be okay?

Can one submit a statement of account showing series of transactions made to your fiancée account as common law spousal relationship?

If you are staying for just one year, you can provide POF for just one year, but if you're going for 2 years, it is better you provide POF for 2 years.

Providing means of finance which is not readily available leaves you at the mercy of the visa officer which is always a slim chance.

1. Your age would not lower your chances.
2. Either a college or university is good, your study is what you should focus on.
3. You need to seek admission first, after admission and honouring the terms and conditions therein, you can proceed to visa application. Documents need for visa application include but are not limited to POF documents, passport bio-data page, birth certificate, SOP, LOA, tuition deposit/fee if any etc.

In conclusion, everything depends on how you package your application and address all the factors that determine visa decision outcome (Home Ties, Purpose of Visit, Academic/Career Progression, Financial and Personal Assets etc)

Thanks a lot, I'll get back on here after my admission.

You must return home to get married to her before you can apply for her to join you in Canada. My advice in such situation is that you should get married immediately you've gotten your study permit approval in Nigeria.

Thank you so much.

Can I delete the application and start all over on the GCKey old portal?

If you haven't submitted your own application you can start afresh on the Gckey portal so that you can include your hubby in your application. However, if you have submitted your application you may have to withdraw it depending on how long you have since submitted it.

Let the gurus advice you further on what next to do if you have submitted your application on the new portal.

All the best

I sent in my passport but forgot to add the passport request letter
better to just take it there in person or mail?

VFS may either return your passport without appending the visa or they will contact you to send them a scanned copy via email.
