It violates their human right of personal right to cover up unclothedness (even if it originates from the Muslims).

However, this is not an Islamic land therefore The Law of the Common good overrides the particular good especially in public facilities where they are unable to accommodate their differences.

So use your burkini in your own pools and lands.
law is actually meant to protect the right others not your own right.

E.g, you can kill yourself, the law won't sue your ghost. But if you kill someone else, you have committed murder

You can rob and harm yourself, the law doesn't care (it's your right). but when you start robbing and harming other people, then it becomes a problem.

You can wear your burkini in private pool. Heck you can wear your agabda in a pool that belongs to you (it's your right). But when you wear it in public pool at the detriment of health of others cos of your religion, then it becomes a problem.

It is a common sense question

Why is the court or the government telling people what to wear to swim in a public and liberal society? Alas, bigotry won't let you see road.

Kobojunkie:
The ruling makes sense to me. Common Law, so long as it does not violate human right, shouldn't have to bend for religious reasons. Instead, religious individuals ought to bend to comply with common Law abeg! undecided

You just explain how it affects health and order. Many of you will be using bug words without understanding it one bit.

The ban isn't because of any stupid health and order. More like French culture doesn't allow burkini.

Yeah, the same French culture that enslaved African countries. Contributed to the rise of terrorism in your country. Go ahead defend your masters..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there's somewhere in the teaching of Islam that says people of the same and/or opposite sex should not bathe together or see each other's nudity.

That alone prohibits its adherents from public bathes. So why the issue of burkini or whatever in the first place?

Either don't go there to bathe, or don't bring any religious stuff into it.

I don't like or support public display of body parts through bikinis, but I don't like when a certain group try to use religious issues to cause trouble.

Next thing now they'll say they must segregate the pool into different parts for different religion.

Before you know, talks of hijabs and other tuff go follow.

Then, religious killings for so-calld blasphemy.

That's how it begins.

Please don't bring religious issues to an otherwise peaceful place!

Conform or leave!

If you want to change them, try talking instead.

What are they scared of?

It is one of most racist country in western Europe. UK doesn't come close it it. No regards for ALL minorities and that include people who like you in the slightest bit. Let's hope they win the battle.

this is what happens when ediots jumps to reply without reading the the topic first.

Indeed, he considered that "the very targeted derogation made, to satisfy a religious claim, to the common law rules for wearing close-fitting bathing suits enacted for reasons of hygiene and safety, is likely to affect the proper functioning of the public service and the equal treatment of users in conditions undermining the principle of neutrality of public services”...

However, according to article 10, which in no way mentions the burkini, “bathing suits must be made of a fabric specifically designed for swimming, fitted close to the body”.

There are rules, common laws even, where it come to what you can or cannot wear, or do, at public pools. If you didn't know this before now, I suggest you look it up. undecided

The fact that french government even entertained such suit shows they are not bigoted. If you want to see bigotry, look at Islamic countries.

Exactly.
It's a public swimming pool and if your religion forbids you dressing in such a way, you can aswell not go into a public swimming pool and get a private pool for yourself.
Laid down rules and safety policy should never be altered to accommodate religion fanatics.

It's a dumb ruling, why must a court or the government legislate on what you wear? And to all places, the swimming pool! I know there's an anti-muslim sentiment in France at the moment which probably affected the ruling.

For those applauding this judgement, Muslim or Christian, as an African, you ain't shit to French people that are xenophobic.

I think it's better for Muslims to travel to countries where they are more accepted and can do whatever they like, Christians travel to Muslim countries and abide by their rules, reverse is the case for Muslims, always wanting to bring their own rules into another man's territory, why is it always like that, the things you guys do ehhnn, Christians can't even try half of it, you have Iraq, Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and a whole lot of others but it's Christian dominated countries you want but you are never ready to abide by their laws, on top of that, still force yours on them, like how
Who does that

Leave them, allow them do whatever they want, it's their territory, if you can't abide by their rules then leave, you can't dictate to another man in his own house, there are lots of Muslim countries, leave the Europeans alone, when in Rome you act like the Romans, never seen a Christian living in Saudi and complaining, they'll rather abide by their laws, y'all always causing troubles wherever you go.

No one is disrespecting religion here, why is it always Muslims complaining, we have Christians living in Muslim countries yet they don't complain, they are always law abiding, reverse is the case for Muslims always crying wolf.
If you can't abide by a country's rules, leave! It's so simple, they can't bend their rules just cause they want to please y'all.
