I lost my birth certificate and got another öne from NPC office at Babs animashaun at surulere. I saw someone stating NGN15,000, I don't know if that's an error or not. I just wanted you to know that I didn't spend up to 2,000 at the office. I took my affidavit with me and I had to make photocopy there, everything altogether was not expensive at all. Also, it is not a crowded place, there weren't too many people so, you don't need to know someone or text someone to get it done. It didn't even take time. Less than one hour, I was already done. I was surprised myself. I did it in 2021. ozonaija: 1 Like |

Good afternoon all. I got a conditional admission offer for MSc degree in LMU Munich, but because of this category B issue, I do not know what to do again. Does anybody have an idea on how to 1. apply to defer the admission or to request for online admission 2. Do I have to pay the semester fee (138 €) just yet (even though they instructed it should be paid within 8days of receiving the mail) ? Thank you 1 Like 1 Share |

TIPS FOR NIGERIANS COMING TO GERMANY FOR STUDIES. Note: these are my views, so don't fight... For almost three years, in Germany, my advice to a young Nigerian coming here for studies. 1. Learn the Language if you can before coming; at best, start learning in Nigeria 2. Never study a course you are not down for, don't struggle in an area that is not a good fit for you. 3. Do not focus on lager jobs when you arrive. It's a bad deal. I know it may be difficult, but focus more on work student position in a company focusing on things related to your course of study. 4a. I would advise, you take the first six months of your Blocked account-sponsored stay in Germany to intensively apply for a work student position in a company rather than start a lager job from the first go. I understand some of you may have to return the funds you collected from people. If that is the case, start applying for work student positions in Nigeria. Those in IT have a good chance. I have heard of a UNN student working for an IT firm in Germany in a work student position. He receives a monthly stipend of like 1500 euros for 80 hours per month of work. 4b. The most valuable assets you have in your first 2 years here are the Internet, constant power supply and your student status. Many fail to understand the power of this resource. They undermine it or take for granted the opportunity that has been presented before them. Don't spend your time streaming videos always, engage the internet for productive uses. Don't be deceived, time flies in Germany. Before you know it, 2 years is gone. Maximise these resources for your own gain, learn a skill or software, your school may have the premium version software, ask from your uni library or international office, there is numerous software you can get the premium version for free. Don't waste this opportunity, your competition is on a global scale. 5. it's wise to spend your blocked account money with a PETER OBI mindset. 6. You must be intentionally social in DE to enjoy and gain the international student experience in a country like DE. This is because of language and cultural barriers, but if you have attended to point (1) above, you are fine. 7. Covid 19 is over, so you guys would be coming in at a better time than I did. I can't overemphasise that your study is the main reason you are in Germany (at least officially); do well to keep things straight. However, don't miss out on other opportunities, especially travel and continuous learning opportunities (e.g. summer schools, conferences etc.). Some of these continuous learning opportunities are fully funded. I combine my desire to travel around Europe with learning something new and adding some certificates to my portfolio. I have since visited Lithuania, Poland, Ireland and other cities in Germany to attend one summer school, workshop or conference. All were fully funded. 8. Build network and friends while in Germany. If this is important to you and your career plans, please consider doing this intentionally. You must be intentional, quiet and wise about it, don't be "standoffish". Germans or say Europeans don't warm up to foreigners quickly, so don't be like that...., its not so deep. I trust you understand what i mean here. 9. In contrast to what you may have heard, appreciate the Nigerian community if you find one in your city. Its a big help in socialising and finding people to argue about NIGERIA occasionally. Your Nigerian community can be of great help. However, do not be petty. Don't bring bad behaviour here. For instance, the Nigerian student community in Darmstadt is lovely, with quality Nigerians who are cool-headed, fun-loving and exciting. We have had many parties that are the pride of black people in this city. We are gracious, LOUD, BLACK, and PROUD. In summary, we get sense. 10. Appreciate the relationships you are living behind in Nigeria and keep them cordial. Yes, I understand some people feel the need to lock up and ignore people back home. Well, I am not one to tell you how to treat or behave toward your friends. My point is, you may need one or too assistance from family and friends back home. So keeping it cordial is fine. Some may ask you for money because you are now in Europe, where money grows on trees. Well, it's up to you; if you give them that impression, then deal with it: Na, you sabi. If you have any questions, you can ask them here or drop me an email. 18 Likes 3 Shares |

Why do you need a birth certificate from Lagos? A birth certificate from any part of the country is valid; make sure the details therein are correct and match your documents. Desist from paying for what is by law free of charge. We glorify bad behaviour when we continue to do this as a people. I saw someone advised you to go for an NPC certificate and would link you to someone who would charge 15k. As a believer and follower of PETER OBI, I urge you to get this through official channels and only pay official fees. Remember that Nigeria will not always be like this; one day, all this rubbish will end. Till then, do the right thing. ozonaija: 2 Likes |

Good day everyone. Trust you are all doing good. Please I want to confirm about the health insurance coverage for Germany. So apparently, there's a question on the visa application form: Do you have health insurance that covers the Federal Republic of Germany - long term stay. Tick yes or no. The visa being applied for is an Ausbildung visa which is a long stay- 3 years. How can one go about this health insurance coverage for Germany. Is it a very important document for the interview. And yes! Someone helped us get a Reisekrankenversicherung (travel health insurance) for 1 month. Does this particular insurance answer yes for the question on the application form? Otherwise, like I asked earlier, how can one get this health insurance coverage for Germany or can the employer be of assistance in getting this health insurance coverage for the person? Thank you in advance. I await your response. |

YES. Your WAEC result is part of the requirement usually referred to as your university entrance qualification. To mention, I am not here to spoon-feed anyone. The answer to your question is on this thread's first page. Excellent111: |

Someone asked me these questions via email, but I will respond here so others can benefit. 1. How long did it take to get an appointment? I got my visa in 2019, I suppose things have changed a lot now, so I am not in a position to tell you this. Hopefully, others here can answer. However, if you read through the last 100 pages of this thread, I am sure you will find the answers you need, though in bits and pieces. If you have a jotter where you take down important information, I trust you will be able to connect the dots. 2. what are some student jobs you mentioned? I said Work student positions in a company specialised or working in your area of study. However, you can do other student jobs if you do not seek a professional student work position or internship, such as working in a warehouse, coffee shops, food delivery etc. My advice is that you focus on work student positions. Check popular job sites to find suitable positions. Websites like LinkedIn, indeed, stepstone etc. 3. Can I learn the language in Germany if I can't correctly learn it here in Nigeria..? What do you mean by correctly learning German in Germany? You learnt English in Nigeria. Did you have to go to England to learn English correctly? Goethe Institute is there for you. if not, you can self-learn using these phone apps, such as Duolingo, DW learn German, Leo etc Of course, your language skills would be sharped and improved when you come to Germany, which is a given. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Another question I received Good morning sir. How are you doing? Well, I'm trying to migrate to Germany using education means- wanted to do a master's program- but I'm having challenges. Firstly, ASUU is on strike and I can't get my transcripts and secondly, I can't afford the blocked account fee, especially with the crazy rate and possibility of it increasing soon. Now my main question is, do you think Ausbildung is a good idea to come to Germany? Is it feasible? Would you advise it? I'm currently learning German but I want to be sure before I give my all. I'm currently in the A2 level and planning to enrol for B1 soon. Thanks. Apart from all these, please share them with me if you have any other advice or comment. My dear, these are life decisions, sadly it's your call but here is my opinion. First, @AmisOsas is also applying for the Ausbildung visa. You guys can exchange thoughts. My dear, you know your circumstance better than I do. You are better positioned to decide for yourself what you want out of life. I think a Blocked account is also required for Ausbildung, only that the amount is less, in that you are to block for six months. I am unsure of the details and how applying for Ausbildung will save your funding situation, as you may need to show when applying also. But I suggest you GO AND VERIFY. Ausbildung is simply vocational training; you are trained in a particular vocation (e.g. hotelier, carpentry, electrical work etc.), but you are attached to a company while you are being trained, and you get paid for your work in the host company. It is a unique german model to train professionals in those vocations. People with such skills in Germany are fine too; they are not hungry. if you want to use Ausbildung as a JAPA plot, then it's up to you. But no one would nail you to the cross that you want to pursue another part other than Ausbildung when you have arrived already in Germany. You can decide to pursue a master's afterwards or months after you have arrived. It's entirely up to you. However, there would be requirements to do so, simply fulfilling the requirements. As per feasibility, I can't say. I am yet to meet a Nigerian who came to German with an Ausbildung Visa. Indeed there are many Nigerians in other parts of Germany with such testimony. |

It was like 2000/2500 naira (including the seal and stamp). I went to the high court at ikeja, there are lots of people doing it, just make sure to walk right inside the area itself, don't go with people that will tell you to follow them. Locate one by yourself. You'll see them sitting with computers. ozonaija: 1 Like |

@Bethiano and everyone I just got a German resident who has volunteered to get me SL on my behalf. Please a quick one, will the letter be addressed to the German Embassy in Nigeria? Who has a sample? I don't mind the person blocking off all his details to serve as a guide. Must it equally be hard copy, I mean sent from Germany? Thanks |
