Had a nasty experience at IOM Ikeja today. I initially booked 6th May for TB test and had to cancel it and rebooked for today 21st June with a confirmation email. I got there so early at 4.30am and by 7am when they a started calling names,I wasn't called. So many of us had the same problem. They collected the email appointment confirmation from us,took them inside and came out later to give us different reasons why our names were missing from their registered list for the day.
For me,the cancelled 6th May appointment is what they still had in their file. All in all, after wasting the whole day for me,I was given Thursday 23rd as a new test day.
From what I got there today, there are errors on their online booking as evidence by the large number of people affected. So if it is convenient for you, physical booking is advised.

Yes physically booking @ their offices is the way forward especially during rush seasons (September n January intakes)
So, from now till January 2023, one should book @ their offices nationwide otherwise, OYO is person’s case

Good morning House

Please I need a comprehensive Guide on how to Apply for my Study Visa with 3 dependants (Wife and 2 kids). I have my CAS already and our TB test results.

I would like to ask if there is Joint Application for Family or We apply individually?

Please advise

They always come across as sole conveyors of truth n genuine info whereas, they are limited in personal experiences.
No law or policy is cast on stone (when it’s not the 10 commandments) but these conveyors of truths take everything in hook, line and sinker as long as it is written down.

Davidandgo, I don't know how to reach you... I have been trying to book since yesterday but it's not going... I have been awake trying it even midnight no show.....

This was my case a few days ago. From what I gathered, they are deliberating limiting the appointment date for students hence the difficulty in getting a date. My advise is that you keep trying and be persistent. If you have dependents, book their first while you book yours for a later date.

Goodluck!

Trying to book online since yesterday but getting to the end it will say "error encountered, sorry slots not available".

This is terrible and I don't know why things cannot just work well in this country.

As long as the main applicant has a date regardless of how far away it is from the dependents, they can all go in together on the date of his dependents. I hear the Main Applicany May have to pay up to N42k though.

Please help us UKVI asking for another endorsement letter with email and phone number after sending reference letter on 10th June. UBA refused to add email and phone number on the endorsement (reference)letter. Any advise and Who can advise on what to do at this point ? The account is a Joint account

Appeal to UBA’s staff especially the branch manager you using.
UKVI just wants something official with a clear line of communication

Please what is the implication of selecting a 9:15 am appointment at ikeja tls? I have read somewhere where people were saying they jump and pass 9:15 appointments.

that's the only date and time i see available and i want to select it but i also don't want to fall into error.

please advise.

Nothing much. U know Lagos with its early morning rush and hold ups, just make sure your place is close by otherwise if you miss that appointment….

Not sure of Abuja office but the issue is, there is MAD rush for IOM services in 9ja by Sept n Jan intakes and also add Canadian travellers to the list. So, doing an online booking don’t usually work for all (just few).
And one thing you can be sure of is that they will attend to everyone but just that you as an individual have to ensure your schedule and when you need the certificate is not hampered by this rush

That's quite strange as I know Bank's reference letters are printed on their Letter head paper which always have their phone numbers and email on it.

Hello,

The reference letter was it from UBA initially?

You may need to meet.the operation manager or so, someone's in authority in UBA to direct the correct team to do so

Good morning gurus in the house. Please I need an advise on this. I have submitted all the required documents on my CAS shield. The problem now is that the page is requesting for a new passport as my passport with expire January 2023. The message on the page is that my passport will expire less than 6months before the start of my programme.

I already captured for a new passport but as usual no booklet. I am just so confused on what to do next now.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 7 by mimilyrics: 9:25am On Jun 22, 2022
You can apply at VI or Ikeja, not seeing a crowd there doesn't mean that there are issues. Most people probably opt for Ikeja so as not to pay the extra fee charged to use the VI centre. Also, it only makes sense for people to apply in the locations close to them hence, the crowd at Ikeja.

giselle237:

This is the combined experience of people I know. This list is not absolute but a guide.
DIVORCED MOTHER:
What you’ll need:
1. The divorce certificate- I hope this is self-explanatory. If not applicable to you, skip to next.
2. The Guardianship/Sole custody Certificate- this is a court appointed certificate obtained when you apply for sole custody of your child. It can be a long-drawn process, depending on how bad things are with your ex-husband,and it involves multiple tasks( for example, publishing a news ad that you have applied for sole custody etc) The certificate made in some countries is standardized. Invest in a VERY good lawyer.
3. Permission from court for the minor to travel abroad- after obtaining the Guardianship Certificate, you will make an application for permission to allow your child to travel with you to the UK. The reason for this,is that some sole custody Certificates are standardized, and some might have a clause saying if you have sole custody — all is well provided you don’t remove the child from the country. This is why this permission from the court is required IN ADDITION to your Guardianship Certificate. You can have this worded according to your circumstances, but make sure the main objective is clear: Child allowed to travel to UK with mother.
4. Once you’ve acquired the above three documents, apply for the visa, and you can quote in your cover letter that you have met the conditions laid out in Paragraph 319H(f)....please read through the paragraph so you understand what I mean.

U would need above docuemnts plus u have to provide evidence how you are going to study and care for that child 24/7 without depriving child from parents care and love

WIDOWED MOTHER:
1. The death certificate of the father-again,self explanatory,I hope.
2. Sole guardianship certificate- as above. You will still need to apply for a formal Guardianship Certificate appointed by court. The process is very similar as to the divorced mother, but there is usually no one to challenge/contest the Guardianship.
3. Permission to travel from court-as above.

I hope this helps.
Please do not DM me to ask me questions about your circumstances.
I cannot offer you marital advice or legal advice.
The documents I’ve stated are absolutely necessary. I don’t know of any alternatives.
When in doubt...google.
Feel free to add information I may have missed out.
Good luck!

Thanks very much for this...

It seems the UK VISA actually is reducing the turn around time. Most folks are getting theirs at 4 weeks or less

It's frustrating struggle to get admission struggle for cas, struggle for tuition payment struggle to pay ihs and visa fee all to get stuck at visa application

It’s so unfortunate but that’s what most people will grapple with - it’s a yearly ritual since the revamped tier 4 route especially post covid.

I’m not trying to instil fear in people but to give heads up. A time will come people will sleep in TLS offices, some will miss school payment deadlines, passport issuance will disappoint others, some schools will tell you to defer, UKVI will do their own delay too - the list is endless.
In all, it will end in praise. Just hit the ground running and don’t look back (there is no time especially for Jan 2023 intake, not to talk of Sept, 2022 intake)

- have all your funds ready

- get a new 9ja passport if the old one is near expiry. Do all the wahala n leg work here in 9ja if you have to; getting a new 9ja pp is also not easy here (especially if you stay farther from London plus d hard earned £ you ll cough out too)

- have all your docs ready (since TB cert has 6 months validity, plan accordingly with your intake)

- network with trusted kith n kin outside 9ja for fee payment when CBN is delaying

- check your emails (all folders) a zillion times daily so you don’t miss out on info n correspondence

- get more info. Information is power

- as you plan for your visa, also prepare for life in the UK (accommodation, job, financials etc)
