Malcolm Omirhobo adorned in a full ATR Costume inside Supreme Court of Nigeria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PdutQckQno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KybSFLuTqJs A lawyer Malcolm Omirhobo has dressed in a traditional outfit for appearance at the Supreme Court. He told reporters his dressing was in protest of last Friday’s judgment by the court, overruling Lagos’s ban of hijab by Muslim female students in public schools. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thenationonlineng.net/photos-lawyer-appears-in-traditional-outfit-at-supreme-court/amp/ 113 Likes 16 Shares

I totally agree with him. If they can allow other students to wear hijab then traditional worshippers can come to school dressed in their costumes too. Make all of us kukuma craze together. 225 Likes 17 Shares |

Thats a genuine reason, Islam and Christianity are not the only religion in Nigeria, everyone should be allowed freedom to practice their religion and dress in that manner. Manymany werey wanle 95 Likes 13 Shares |

I know many will come in defense of this man. But the simple thing is, Muslims wear their hijab everywhere why should they off it because they want to go to school. His argument is baseless. Will Sango worshipper wear their traditional attire to market any day anytime? Or will a Christian lady in choir wear the rope outside of the church? If you want to wear the above(eeku and rope)to school, you're welcome. You'll get tired. By the way, this is lagos not Abia. Modified. Nigeria is not a secular state but a religious state, it simply means everyone has the freedom to practice their religion. Part of Muslims practising their religion is allowance to wearing of hijab. The British system was designed to favour the Christians that's why most of you feel comfortable. Imagine if UAE is a bi-religious state making Sunday a work day, if you're a practising Christian and a citizen, will you sit and not talk? This is the similitude of our fight. Non-Muslim should be allowed to wear their attire if it is anywhere in their religious book that they should do so. 27 Likes 9 Shares |

PEXBlog:Right way to deal with double standard. If a Muslim can wear hijab to school in a secular state, hijab to a "call to bar," then traditionalist should be allowed such absurdity too. Criticisms from northern folks that I see on facebok is indicative of our difference in reasoning. It's simple "To your tent o Israel" will cure this problem. 65 Likes 6 Shares |
