The UoW time table for Sept. 2022 intake is the attached image. I applied for a 1 year programme (no placement) I need help on understanding the timetable so I can calculate the IHS appropriately as I don't know which one exactly is the programme end date. If it's either April 14 that semester 2 ends or its when summer period ends in October. I know it will be shown on the CAS but I need ample time to plan appropriately. Thanks

I have been searching for a post where people will speak about their post study experiences and route to becoming a permanent residents in the UK but I have found none, knowing fully well that a huge percentage of people here have the mind to lawfully settle in the UK after school. The fear of the unknown has been keeping me back from furthering my application. In fact, I already received my unconditional offer and my deposit is in my kitty . For those that are currently or have passed through this stage, How did you navigate it? Do you sometimes regret going to the UK for study? Have you seen those who return to Nigeria after thier 2 years PSW because they couldn't secure a job with sponsorship? Are there other visa category one can apply for to keep buying time? Is the investment worth it at all? Are there other ways of staying back? Could you please share survival tips? Thank you in anticipation of your response. I hope it will benefit so many people on this platform. 10 Likes |

Jsaviour: After getting to Coventry, just search for the cheapest hotel or go with Travelodge. Prices for weekend they cari muscle and moreover there's National Rail (train) strike which makes commuters stranded with no choice than to lodge in hotel /hostel. Enjoy your stay and weekend. 1 Like |

Good morning guys.. Am new here and will like to ask some questions.. I want to apply for admission and a students visa for January session.. * I was denied a visiting visa this June and would want to apply for a students visa maybe by oct/nov as against January session.i hope this refusal will not have any impact on my chances of getting a students visa..? * Again my certificates bear chima obijuru(which I have affidavit to cover for it) while my bank account and international passport bears chimankpa chizaram obijuru...I hope this will not be an issue in getting my visa approved..? * Lastly what can cause refusal of students visa and what how libra is the uk embassy in granting visas..? I really want to hit it once.. Thanks gurus.. |

Hello House, Does anyone have an idea how long it takes CBN to review and approve Form A application after the applicant makes an amendment on the form. More so, will the waiting period continue counting or it will start all over? Because the application was 3 weeks on ADB_Disbursement review before the amendment was made |

olaoye15: The reality is, not everyone embarking on the student route will get the opportunity to stay and live in the UK permanently. This might be harsh but it’s the truth. I came to the UK just before the old post-study was scrapped. During my 2 week orientation, we were told to study hard and get good results as that would help us secure a job. A lot of international students in my university took this advise seriously and despite some graduating with distinction and merit, only a handful were lucky. Those who couldn’t secure a job had no choice but to pack up and return. It was really heartbreaking to see some of the brightest people I’ve ever met forced to leave. Sadly, life as an illegal immigrant is horrible and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Some other routes to settlement you could consider should you choose: Spousal Visa - You can apply via marriage (real love) if your spouse meets the financial threshold. It was easier before Brexit as being married to an EU National automatically gave you the right to reside. Sadly that ship sailed a long time ago. You can now only rely on marriage to a British citizen or someone with permanent residency ( ILR, EU settled or Pre-settled status). Global Talent Visa - If you’re a tech bookworm and believe you can make a change in the digital world then this is for you. For more information, check gov.uk Continuous study- You can explore the PHD option if you’ve got a lot of cash reserve, knack for research and 3 more years for academia. Personally, I didn’t opt for PHD because I knew I wouldn’t be able to cope with more studying. The MSc was more than sufficient . My cousin studied for almost 10 years just so he can qualify for long residency. Was it worth it, he alone knows. For survival, I know some Nigerians are resilient and I’m hoping you are too. - Come with the funds you showed Home office - Choose an affordable city for your studies - Seek academic help early if you’re struggling. - Research organisations that can sponsor you early and put in as many applications as possible before your graduation - Make use of charity shops if money is tight. You’ll be amazed at the quality you’ll find in some shops. - Register for your National Insurance number as soon as you arrive. - Get a UK bank account asap - Register with Electoral Roll ( Nigerian INEC) and GP practice - Start your job application asap - Make good friends - Brush up on your interview skills ( YouTube is a great place to start). With regards to work, It’s important you have your living expenses when you arrive as it could take months to get a job. This way you can treat any income from the 20hr work as a reserve. I would encourage you to get a part time job that will guarantee the minimum 20 hrs/ week with holiday pay. This will ensure you have a steady income every month. I’m not a fan of agency work ( aka zero hour contract) although I can see the appeal for students. Should you choose this option, be aware that you could go some days/ weeks without work if the agency does not have a shift for you. To your other question, I don’t regret coming here to study because this country has given me an opportunity that I would have otherwise not had if I had remained in Nigeria. I was lucky to get a job I enjoy and have progressed in my organisation. It is important that anyone embarking on this journey lower their expectations because the reality is often different from the picture family and friends paint. You’ll be amazed to know that some people have come here financially unprepared and then turn to the church or council for help when things go wrong. All I can tell you is don’t let the fear of the unknown put you off. Remember no risk, no reward. You alone can decide if the student route is the right part for you. Good luck 46 Likes 8 Shares |

Wife is the MA and I'm the dependent, and the business account is joint account with wife as the business is registered (business name) with both names. The personal account is also my salary account. Which of the accounts is better to use please? |
