Yes, I got this. Perhaps next communication will come after July 11th. I got this mail after submitting. What do they mean by "those who qualify" and "next phase"? Is the next thing not award letter?

There's still further screening. The new head of LSS has new polices. You guys might even write an aptitude test.

Yeah. UGs don't write exams. Just multiple stages of internal scrutiny

Hi, I'm assuming you already uploaded the transcript before yesterday. Did you remove the old copy and upload another one again, or what?

In the box where it asks for current CGPA, did you enter your current CGPA or that of your 100l?

I had to edit the whole app. I uploaded the same passport, same details, then when I got to the academic info section, I just edited the file. Once you click on it you'll see what I mean. I don't really know how to explain it. But once you're done and resubmit your application, you won't be able to edit it again so make sure you preview first.

I suppose they requested for only FULL YEAR ONE CGPA? That's GPA of 1st Semester and Second Semester.

Hello boss,
Do you know if it's possible for DE students to get the ptdf scholarship or know any DE admitted student on the scholarship?

PS: A friend of mine who's a DE admitted student, registered and he was also sent this mail although it was stated there that the result to be uploaded must be for 100lvl.

He's to upload his ND results. And yes, a couple of ND students in my set, though limited, we're awarded.

Are you sure it's not you?

Hey! I was wondering if you could share some useful tips on how to get this PTDF undergrad scholarships. Is it just about getting good grades, or is there anything extra to getting it? I could really use some advice here.

NB: I'm an Applied mathematics student though.

You have to be in your second year, with a CGPA of 3.5 and above.

Unlike other scholarships, you're competing with the top 20 applicants from your state.

This means you can have 3.7 from a less competitive state, and get awarded, and a guy from Ekiti with 4.7, with 20 applicants having 4.9-5.0 more then his 4.7, will make him not to be awarded.

My names are not arranged orderly, they come with first name, other name and surname instead of surname, first name and other name. I'm confused, should someone will be successful, what will be the names on the award letter.

Secondly, does it means we should input our current CGPA but upload 100 level result

Thanks Hannania for always being there anytime you're called upon.

To my doubt, does this imply that O-level grades don't matter for UG award as the basis of your analysis is purely CGPA and State of origin?
First off, I've been following the PTDF PG thread for a while now, and I've observed O-level grades have a lot more bearing on the final selection than the class of degree itself.
Second, for the previous email, I have two Oyo State students in my class; one had a 4.93 CGPA and didn't receive it, while the other with 3.97 CGPA got. Don't you think O-level is also important?

Getting awarded for the scholarship alone is grace ahswr.

Unless the prior email is nothing to be concerned about, it had too many contradictions.
The email was sent to a number of IJMB D.E. students, pharmacy and medical students, some who indicated they were receiving multiple scholarships also received, and the issue of two people from the same state, in which one with lower CGPA received and the other did not. These are extremely unusual based on PTDF's track record. And now again, they are stating that 100 level CGPA is the basis for the award.
This is so confusing.

I'm an awardee, and your claim of track record is false. When the list is out, you'd be shortlisted per state. 20 each.

Some States will have short of qualified applicants, and they have to source for them after the award. Like three northern states had 11, 15 and 13 awardees during my time.

For the IJMB and D.E, only a fraction of them will be awarded, and their ND results will be used to get them.

CGPA is the major factor for undergraduate award. I used my NECO not even WAEC, and I was the top listed name in my state.

The Guy with 4.93 most definitely made a mistake in the application or didn't follow the guidelines. That's the problem I have with some first-class students. High in academic brilliance, abysmal in all-around quotient.

The O'level is not even used for PG awarding, it happens when there's a tie.

Major factors are:
1. Class of degree(difference between first-class and 2.1 is just 2 points. 10 for first, 8 for 2.1). So you can see why many 2.1's get awarded because it's not all about CGPA.

2. Number of awards(maximum of 4 will be graded)

3. Membership in professional bodies

4. Your SOP(statement of purpose)

5. Relevance of your course to the oil and gas industry.

Jamb is not used by PDTF, I've represented awadees in my set to the tower twice, and I've gotten credible info enough to know how The rating is.

Microbiology, biochem, mathematics, computer science are all related to oil and gas. Economics and finance graduates same.

My Sis did her Msc in Uk, in oil and gas finance, on PTDF scholarship. She studied Accounting.

Just relate your course and it's usefulness to oil and gas. Only education courses stand zero chance, and medical students as of then, before this coming set, where they open up to medical courses.

Boss, I'm not challenging any of your claims. Many current awardees, as you also stated, testify their award are based solely on State of origin and CGPA. The prior email, however, didn't follow that pattern because some persons from the same state who had lower CGPAs received email while those with better ones did not.
Unless there is something you guys (current awardees) know that we are unaware of yet, we just want to be certain of why exactly things transpired in that manner.

I've not met a JUPEG awardee before. I doubt it will be accepted. Priority is given to undergraduates that started from 100. But there's no harm in hoping.

And for multiple awards, don't worry. I was on multiple also.
