Transporter52:how much do you earn(you can state a range) and have you attended any transport conferences in nigeria or outside nigeria? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Transporter52: 12:30pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
giselle237: I earn 120k monthly. I have not attended any transport conference either in Nigeria or outside but I have attended some trainings Thanks for your swift response 1 Like 1 Share |

Transporter52:By the time your monthly expenses are subtracted, this salary is too low for a trip that could take up to 600k.. to go and attend a conference.. and even after the 600k there should be enough left in your bank account so that you have something for yourself on return. The visa officer will be wondering why you want to spend at least 6 to 7 times your income for a 2 day conference and all the way in the UK. I personally do not think this salary can work or for this reason.. what about other conferences in your home place or around Nigeria given the cost of this to you? your intention and how genuine this trip will be doubted… but it’s not for me to decide. goodluck |

Hello House, I sent a paid mail yesterday evening and got a response this morning that a decision has been made on my application as shown below. Biometrics was done on the 6th of May. Does anyone have an idea of how long it will take TLS to reach out to me for collection as I need to use the passport for an exam next weekend. Thanks iretiogo1:

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by midep: 3:35pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
The useless UKVS for flimsy reason refused my application. Despite earning Abt N14m per annum. Provided all documents, employment records and bank statement. The confirm all documents submitted and got a positive response yet the baggar said he/she is not convinced that i will return as some of the deposit in my account statements are inconsistent. Account statement that i use for Salary alone. |

midep: Wow! This is serious oh. Sorry for the refusal. I know how exactly you feel. How can they refuse someone with 14m annual salary. It's well. I really don't blame them sha. It's our leaders I blame. I got a refusal first attempt in 2012, then an approval second attempt in 2014. I'm applying third time next week. Ikeja TLs. Booked an hotel in Ikeja as I live in Edo state. Has anyone who applied in Ikeja used Uber or Bolt to the venue? I never used any of those in my state and wondering if I should download the app or just flag down any random taxi outside the hotel. So many stories of insecurity in Lagos. What means of transportation does anybody recommend?. Thanks. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Ray7878: 4:38pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
midep: You probably need to have a look at monies that was been deposited in that account, address that issue before reapplying. Since you already make adequate money you just need to make sure unnecessary deposit isn’t in that account, and if there are then just clarify where the money is from etc. There are loads of tutorials in the thread to help when it comes to running your bank account for Visiting visa application. Good luck next time.. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by AskGod07: 4:39pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
Sorry for the refusal , Try and go through your bank acct statements if there’s any deposit that different to your monthly salary and the monthly expenses you claimed you are spending per month? I’m 90% sure this people will see something fishy in your bank statements before they complained Shalom midep: |

Hi guys, is there anyone whose passport was seized and sent to immigration and was able t get it back? If yes, can you please share your experience? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by midep: 5:14pm On Jun 25, 2022 |
AskGod07: Thanks Shalom, i appreciate. Trust me my account statements was very straightforward. The only transaction into the account are my monthly salary, quarterly allowance, mid year allowance and yearly upfront which was clearly stated in the statement and my payslip and offer letter. The only transaction apart from the above is the consulting fees paid by a client. I also attached my CAC documents which registered the company since 2016. Contract letter from my clients with details of amount paid. Am 95% sure those people are confused, they are human and prone to error. If UK refuse me tourist visa, i have other lovely countries to go jare. SA, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco or Mexico is nit a bad idea after all na my money are wan go spend. 1 Like |

midep:That deposits reason might not be the actual reason. Do you think you have other home ties besides your self employed job? Then again.. what’s the nature of your job? Are you married? Have you been to countries like US, Canada, anywhere in the Schengen area, Oceanic region, UAE? Being self employed I’m sure will carry less point than when you are an employee, especially for a renowned company. Also there’s an age factor thing that can be an hindrance. Less than 40 years, being self employed, not married, with little or no proper travel history might be refused at this peak period. One thing we need to know is.. they cannot give everyone visa. I don’t think this is the best time to apply for a UK visa. The UK visa is the most sort after these days. Truthfully evaluate your application & you can try next time. UAE is a good country for vacation and good portfolio for travel history |

midep:Sorry for the refusal. Self employed is what you presented?? If yes .. but still you say you are earning monthly salary, quarterly allowance, mid year allowance and yearly upfront… within a 6 month period.. Also is there any signed document backed by your company for all these deposits?? or did you present both self employed and salaried employee? I am confused because you mention CAC then mention paid employment.. |
