I think i am a year ahead of you on this. My wife got her admission (started online) for an MBA in September 2021 Manitoba (a DLI) She travelled with my daughter in January 2022. I applied for Visitors visa also in Jan 2022 because i plan on applying for SOWP by the time i get to Canada considering the time it takes to process SOWP from Nigeria. Reality today- 1. No response from IRCC on my application. 2. I have sent numerous web forms and emails. 3. My Wife emailed the MP in Manitoba (they promised her 1month) 4. I also requested for the GCMS notes which is expected to be out by mid July 2022. Suggestions: 1. Check processing time for both SOWP from Nigeria and Visitors permit from Nigeria and see which you can handle. 2. I will recommend you apply for visitors visa after your wife arrives in Canada. 3. I don't know how long it would take to process your Visitors visa application if you apply from Cyprus (You may want to consider this) 4. Apply using the new portal. 5. Have you done your medicals? that alone will take a bit of time to process and upload if you decide to go through the route of SOWP. Please do it asap. 6. You will eventually join your wife either via SOWP or Visitors Visa however while you wait please start working on things that will make you integrate fast and give you an edge upon arrival in Canada i.e. learning French or if there are professional exams (I'm doing both at the moment) No time to waste! Please note that this is my journey so far and not all applications are the same. Some people may be fast and some slow. It all depends on Gods plan. I wish you and i the very best on this Journey. purespikes: 3 Likes |

Hello everyone, I would really appreciate your advice on this. My sister who is in Nigeria applied for a visit visa through the new portal on the 30th of April 2022. We are yet to hear back from them. she did her biometrics in 2018 when she applied and was refused (no invitation from me, landed here a few weeks after this). the major concerns are 1. Her passport expires February 2023 and not sure when she will get a response as the processing time for visa for Nigeria keeps going higher (at 176 days now, i believe). 2. the date of visit put in the invitation letter and time is fast approaching (July 4th 2022), do not know if this will affect the visa if not processed before then as she has been refused before and i am trying to ensure she is not refused again for any reason 3. I am currently in Canada as a PR, would it be wise to fill a representative form? does that help reduce the answering time and will that have any impact on the visa at this point? not sure how to do it but is it too late do do it or is there anything i can do from my own end to better the situation. 4. Do we withdraw the application, renew her passport and start all over again and consider her visit time for a later date? your advise will really be appreciated, thank you! |

Hello everyone, Please help me out here. I applied for a visit visa, did biometric on 28th of March, NO RESPONSE from them. Now, I have been given admission to study Diploma in Business management at Toronto school of management. The school is requesting that I make an initial deposit of CAD3985 within 7 days, which is part of the tuition fee. After that, they will issue me with an official letter of acceptance which will be used to apply for visa. If I get this acceptance letter, should I apply for another visa (study visa) when I have a pending visit visa application running since March, 2023? |

fashionicon: I will advice you not to withdraw the application because before you can renew the passport it will be 6 months to the expiration date and as at now nobody knows when she will be answered , why not wait when she is answered , if she gets there you can apply for passport renewal depending on how long the visa given to her But if withdraw now that means you will wait until its 6 months to the expiry before you can process a new passport and possibly start another application journey 2 Likes |

Congratulations!!! Please can you give an estimate of the funds you had in your personal and business accounts. I was refused on the basis of insufficient funds, I intend to apply again, so this information will be helpful ijeshaprincess: |

Good evening all. Make una no vex ooo, I wan ask this important question. While I still wait for their decision on my visit visa application, I want to apply for study visa. I hope no issue on that? Again, if I apply for this study visa, do I need to travel from Portharcourt to Abuja again for biometric? Or should I just apply and wait? Confusion everywhere. |

Good evening guys. Kudos to everyone who takes out time to respond to questions and enquiries here. I need guidance on my situation; My wife and kids recently got their Canada study permits approved. My wife intends to travel alone in August and leave the kids behind, to allow her time to settle. The plan is for me to go meet her with the kids even though I am yet to even apply for any kind of visa. Here's my worry. Issuance of Canada visa application is so unpredictable with regards to the timing. I want to apply for SOWP, but since I stated in wifey's LOE during her application that I won't be going with her (more like home ties), I am sceptical. So, I am trying to apply for a visitor visa now, considering that it takes a while for IRCC to respond. However, i am confused as to how to sort out the invitation and Canada address part. In the form I am currently filling on the new portal, I used my wife's school address which I know is wrong. Also, the work experience part is giving me issues. It keeps from progressing by asking me to list all the jobs I have done in the last 10 years, when in actual fact I haven't changed jobs in 17 years. Every attempt to proceed from this part is futile. I need someone to guide me on how best to approach my visa application, please. I need this help ASAP. Thanks |

I think it is okay to use your wife’s school as address. The job part is tricky and I can’t explain clearly but u can find some YouTube video on how to fill that section purespikes: 1 Like |

U will not need new biometrics. The one u did for ur TRV will be valid for 10years regardless of any new application you submit princetx: |

Good morning all, can an intending traveller for the first time be sponsored by the company for a conference or training for a succession plan in the company...the question now, is the company account enough to guarantee the person been sponsored visa...the company account transaction is worth over N300m in and out and closing balance too very reasonable on monthly basis. The guru pls, your input. Thanks Emkay2: |

kabosko: Thank you immensely for your robust response. 1. The processing times for both SOWP and VV are quite long. 2. However, the processing time from Cyprus is just 24 days. While I do not intend to even visit Cyprus, I may be tempted to go that route just to make things easier for me. 3. Can I consider the option of getting a friend to send me an invitation and other necessary details, so I can apply exclusively of my family?I don't know if that would work. 4. I am also considering the option of renewing my US Visa via Interview Waiver, so I can apply for Super visa. How possible is this? So many thoughts. I hope I get this right. Meanwhile, I have done my medical since March, 2022. Once again, thanks for the advise. I hope I get this right. |

I have sent countless of emails and webforms. No decision yet since October 2021 when I did biometrics. I even mailed the MP, they replied once to ask for some personal details and nothing after that. (It’s been a month now) Everything is quiet frustrating. I’m surprised why my guy application took 4/5 months but Omo! I don wait tire. I AM BEGGING, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO RE APPLY USING THE NEW PORTAL, PLEASE PUT ME THROUGH. I know this will take your time, please just HELP ME. Thanks jogojogo: |
