Retail investors with as low as N5,000 can now invest in FG Bonds Retail investors can now purchase FG Bonds for as little as N5,000 thanks to the FGN bond’s design by the Debt Management Office, which caters to inexperienced, retail investors. This was disclosed Mr Abiodun Fagbohun, the Chief Executive Officer of a stockbroking firm, who stated that the current arrangement was a departure from the past, according to the News Agency of Nigeria. Ugmama:If you already have investment(s) in naira, go for option 2. However, don't stop at just buying but buy and invest in Eurobond (dollar) fund. You'll come out fine! By the way, this time last year, dollar was around 510. 1 Like |

Gavrelino123:I remember when we used to call the rise in dollar at 400+ artificial and was thinking it will fall at some time instead it kept going up. Nobody should expect any fall in dollar till this administration leaves. I think it will get to 650 by December 3 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by pizapato(m): 9:14pm On Jun 26, 2022 |
Gavrelino123: Lol So what do you think the actual rate should be This same argument of the rate being artificial has been on since since 2020 and it kept inching upward. I can remember awesomeJ discouraging people from buying back then when it was around 430, before we say jack it hit 470 from there it has been on upward trajectory Even the official rate we are seeing today is probably not a reflection of the true situation of things because the current administration (ruling party) can't afford to devalue further because election is around the corner. Don't be surprised that the next administration might devalue naira further to close the gap between official and parallel market Like people have suggested earlier, it is better to split one's holding, some be in USD some in naira. If you can get it between between 550-600 buy and hold. |

hello guys, what do you think about investment that pay 10%-15% monthly ROI. If you see one, would you invest? Not that you will invest your money with them, you will be working with your money on little less than 5-10 minutes stuff daily online. |

pizapato: I don't think the parallel market (PM) is going to deviate by "alot" from official rates and stay there very long. PM is affected by 2 forces - the demand/supply and official rate. 1 Like |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ositadima1(m): 9:29am On Jun 27, 2022 |
Here is my understanding regarding exchange rate issues Nigeria is being suffering. Going 100% free-float: In this case the exchange rate is completely left to demand/supply. Here Naira will even go down much further, expect 1000 Naira to USD or even more with fluctuations. This is because Nigeria buys more than it sells (Inport vs Export) - Deficit in Balance of trade. Going 100% fixed rate: In this case the government acts as middle man (Market Maker), using its deposit as buffer. Again, because Nigeria buys more than it sells it puts strain on the deposits (ever decreasing foreign deposits). The superficial and quicker solution adopted by present administration was to use a mixture of the two. A more deeper and lasting solution is to improve overall productivity of d Nigerian population. |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by pizapato(m): 11:34am On Jun 27, 2022 |
ositadima1: CBN is actually moving towards free float, just that it is being done in a gradual way. Now everyone is encouraged to open a domicillary account and get a dollar card to be able to spend up to $5k per day (depending on the bank). That is CBN telling everyone one to source their FX by themselves. How then do you think the PM rate is going to fall. If it stabilizes at 500 or even 600, things become normal. Unfortunately the fall is continuous. By the end of the year, PM rate will be at least 650 if not more. 1 Like |

seyisanya:Please, how do i buy Eurobond? Can i subscribe for Eurobond through my bank? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by seyisanya(m): 5:44am On Jun 28, 2022 |
Wapgod:You need a minimum of $200,000USD to invest in eurobond. If you don't have up to that amount, then you can take the eurobond fund route through any of the accredited fund managers. Top on the list are: United Capital (InvestNow), StanbicIBTC Dollar Fund, and GTCO (Investment One - Vantage Dollar Fund). You need a minimum investment amount of $1000 with $500 subsequent top-up. 1 Like |

Wapgod: With the funds sitting in your domicilliary account, the world is your oyster. As mentioned above, your bank is a first port of call, to facilitate this, through the secondary market. You should make sure you continously monitor the terms offered against the published yields because the market is quite transparent. You can also participate in the primary market whenever it comes around. Good luck. 2 Likes |
