Many of you talking about "own your own business, own your own business". If we all own our businesses, there will be no employees. All private school owners will have to teach by themselves and in most cases, they aren't professionals in that field. If we all sell snacks, how are we going to get buyers? If we all repair phones, that means we will all live to repair our own phones. If we are all fashion designers, then we will only be fashion designing our selves.
If we all do business, we don't need education. No need for primary - tertiary education. Let's all just start this business from the day we stopped crawling.
Let's not justify the wickedness of some Nigerian employers by telling our selves to go and establish our own businesses. Nigerian employers have to do better.
Our government have to do better too. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Our government have to do better too. Actually you are right!! Some people are not meant to be entrepreneur, it is not just in their blood we can't all start business, the term business has been defiled in Nigeria and people are not innovative they all tend to run in same direction, when Nigerians see that a certain business is booming they rush there and saturate it with mediocrity and everything falls. It is just that poverty has been weaponised in the country to keep the citizens financially handicapped and tamed, there is nothing bad if you work for someone and your services are appreciated with good pay. Starting business nowadays in this country is a big risk, a bigger risk is taking a loan to start it because start up failure is damn high. 6 Likes |

Share your experience why did he pay you 20k/ was there an agreement or a punitive measure for what you did. Going to the village to lavish money is not the cache. why he paid you 20k is the question. if he paid you 20k because he complained he doesn't have money then we can look at the lavish spending as an issue. i was told of one of my worker that 3k was deducted from his salary because he stayed away from work without any notice or information or call to the office and his line was not reachable. then he appeared the next day to work and went about his work as if nothing happened the day before. very arrogant. salary day he came complaining and we told him why. it is in the policy of the company but we always put it away because of friendship. 1 Like |

Antoeni: During a robbery in America, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank: "Don't move. The money belongs to the State. Your life belongs to you."
Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called "Mind Changing Concept” Changing the conventional way of thinking.
When a lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her: "Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!"
This is called "Being Professional” Focus only on what you are trained to do!
When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA-trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school): "Big brother, let's count how much we got."
The older robber rebutted and said: "You are very stupid. There is so much money it will take us a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!"
This is called "Experience.” Nowadays, experience is more important than paper qualifications!
After the robbers had left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. But the supervisor said to him: "Wait! Let us take out $10 million from the bank for ourselves and add it to the $70 million that we have previously embezzled from the bank”.
This is called "Swim with the tide.” Converting an unfavorable situation to your advantage!
The supervisor says: "It will be good if there is a robbery every month."
This is called "Killing Boredom.” Personal Happiness is more important than your job.
The next day, the TV news reported that $100 million was taken from the bank. The robbers counted and counted and counted, but they could only count $20 million. The robbers were very angry and complained: "We risked our lives and only took $20 million. The bank manager took $80 million with a snap of his fingers. It looks like it is better to be educated than to be a thief!"
This is called "Knowledge is worth as much as gold!"
The bank manager was smiling and happy because his losses in the share market are now covered by this robbery.
This is called "Seizing the opportunity.” Daring to take risks!
So who are the real robbers here?
Nobody It is who they caught that is the thief. But they are bad people 1 Like |

That is what u find in the Nigeria working climate , wish you all d very best as the attitude expressed by the firm speaks volume of the working condition. I once attended an interview and noticed the garrulousness of one of the interviewer. He happens to be the M.D. He asked me how much will I Bring to the firm. As far as I was concerned, that was a very dangerous questions that can be used against u later. I told him I need to at least know the modus operandi of my unit( if employed) then take a look at their product, their costing mechanism, the market forces of demand and supply, product performance index etc... In response, he thundered I must quote a figure.
At that point, I told him the question should have been reserved for a different occasion and moreover, I am not so desperate for the position! The other interviewing panel esp a woman burst into laughter... I just packed my files and left. ...Mind you, this same interview was delayed by strong 2 hours. It was d Saturday of 2016 experience musical night at TBS lagos.. I had to quickly leave d program by 5 am..cos d interview was scheduled by 9am..None of the interview panelist arrived till past 11am... 1 Like 1 Share |
