maasoap: My dear, I am a doctor. Donating an organ to someone does not necessarily mean your life is ruined. There are many people with one eye, one leg, one functional lung, one functional testicle (and still able to father children), one functional ovary (and still able to give birth) etc. living perfectly normal lives. There are even people born with a solitary horse-shoe shaped kidney living perfectly normal lives. Their renal function tests may even be better than yours or mine (we that both have two...I am assuming you have two ) With any paired organ or tissue it is better to have both in case you develop a problem with one. A one eyed man can still see, but if something should happen to that remaining eye that he has then he would then be totally blind. You can donate a kidney and still live a normal life. The only caveat there is that if your solitary kidney should develop problems, then you have nothing to fall back on. That is why people with ONLY ONE KIDNEY for whatever reason (after nephrectomy, after donation, degenerative disease of a single kidney etc) SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON FOLLOW UP WITH A NEPHROLOGIST. They are not sick, but they are at a higher risk of renal failure compared with someone with 2 kidneys. Things usually go wrong when the donor is not regular with his appointments or if there is a problem with the solitary kidney it is discovers late. People are naturally selfish so they will always be sceptical when it comes to organ donation. Therefore, PLEASE, if you have a loved one who needs a kidney and tests show that your renal function is good/excellent don't be hesitant to lend a helping hand. You are saving someone's life. You may be putting yourself at risk but these risks can be minimized if proper follow up is done after the donation. Mind you, the follow up is for the rest of your life. PS: Donating an organ should be on ones volition. Not under duress, deception or coercion. It is unethical (and in some countries illegal) to purchase one (that is where the crime of exploitation and organ harvesting comes in). 2 Likes 2 Shares |

frowland: At this point, you forget about what you heard or read before. Stick to the evidence released by the Police. The police never mentioned asylum. They got the call from the Consultant in the hospital who alerted them about the "boy" not being aware he was being confirmed for an organ harvest. |

Pinklygul:Stop defending nonsense. "The doctor at the Royal Free in Camden became suspicious about whether the alleged victim was aware he was the donor of the kidney and whether he was 41 as his passport claimed. The 15-year-old was given the passport of a 41-year-old in order to get into the UK, but did not know he was there to donate a kidney until he went a hospital appointment in London, a court heard yesterday. After he arrived in the capital in February he had a string of medical appointments about kidney donation, but a consultant at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, North London, became concerned about the boy's real age and if he knew he was there to donate an organ." |

A uk doctor alarmed the uk government when he asked questions about his age and consent before the operation It is obvious that the operation was suppose to be done in the uk. Fact is that after an alarm was raised, Mr Ike wanted to escape the country via turkish transit through Turkish airline. He would have boarded a london to lagos direct flight( bristish airways) but he opted for transit, in order to escape |

1stGenAmerican:I agreed with u. Both with the passport, and what it is written on it and According to Nigeria immigration, the purpose of his traveling was stated on the visa, and how come the boy also claimed to the 15 also. It means the boy is telling lies and also the senator is guilty of the other offense too |

Vatsyayana: Like I said "... donation should be on ones volition...". When money changes hands for a donation to take place then it becomes something else. At best unethical... At the worst (in some countries) it is a crime. |
Re: Ekweremadu's Donor Was Given A Passport Of A 41-Year-Old - UK Doctor by Geopex(m): 2:26pm On Jun 28, 2022 |
Another news is saying 41 years of age and all that. But in response to what the senator asked from immigration, a response was given in respect to a boy of 21 years of age which tally with the earlier name in the news coupled with fact from NIN and Bank. Where did the boy get the 41 yrs in his passport when another passport with 21 is circulated online and which another authority have responded to . |

Newton2024: Tissue typing should be done by the same hospital but not necessarily on the same day. Sonia may have been tested months prior. Her records will be in the hospital/labs database. David would have undergone a renal function test (to see if he is fit to donate... the same way they check your PCV before you donate blood) and then subsequently tissue typing (to see if Sonia's immune system will reject his kidney). These things can be done in Nigeria. It's not a big deal to have them done, and I believe they were done. That's why the travel arrangements were made (David was found to be a suitable donor). Does it mean that when these tests were being done in Nigeria (be it in Lagos, Ife, Ibadan or Abuja) David was not aware of what was going on?? Royal Free Hospital in UK will also conduct their own renal function tests and tissue typing on David to confirm that he is a suitable donor because no hospital in the UK will rely on a lab result from another lab in another country. It was during pre-treatment work up that David, for reasons best known to him, changed his age from 21 to 15. 1 Like |

1stGenAmerican:1001 different media houses and blogs post a story. One of them in the UK somehow mixes its figures by quoting that a person born in the October 2000 is 41 years old, instead of 21 years, and your suggestion is that lawyers should leave all the reasonable things they have to do with their lives to start chasing about one inconsequential media house to make an irrelevant correction? You must really think the lawyers are jobless dont you? So because a newspaper based in the 'Almighty UK' quotes 41 years old, even after sighting the publicly available documents which show his DoB as October 2000, you cannot apply your discretion to deduce that it should be 21 (which is even the figure every other site has reported)? Amazing amazing!!! 1 Like |

Newton2024: Something is really wrong with you people, that's why media companies are using you people as foools. Go and read Federal high court deposition of Ekweremadu lawyer requesting for the court to Grant them the boy NIN details, BVN details as well as his other relevant documents. cos his client took the boy who volunteered to donate one of his kidney to his client, however on getting there, after medical checkup, the doctor discover that the boy own is not compatible with the girl's own. And the Ekweremadus decided that the boy would have to go back to Nigeria and that's when he ran to the UK authority seeking asylum. He claimed that they want to havest his kidney. He later claimed that he is a minor meanwhile he has finished his secondary school. Now the UK authority want his client to provide those necessary documents to prove that the guy is 22 years of age and not 17 as he claimed. So you can believe the UK media that are worse than Sahara reporters when it comes to fabricating news . Ekweremadu is not that stupid to go kill someone else child in the UK to save his own. If he wants to kill the boy just to take his kidney, he wouldn't have written to the UK high commission seeking for the boy to be granted visa . And he specified what the boy is going there to do,(donation of kidney) Donations of kidney is well known around the world. The guyman doesn't want to come back to Nigeria. |

You lawyer hat should tell you they dont have to and probably dont read all that nonsense. They will be busy preparing a defence to refute the claims in court |
