The national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, has been sacked by the party.

It was gathered that Iyorchia Ayu, who is less than a year into the job, was allegedly sacked by the party’s National Working Committee.

Unverified reports say the PDP NWC also named Amb Uma Illiya Damagu as Acting National Chairman of the party.

As at the time of the report, the reason he was sacked is unknown.

Ayu was elected as the chairman of the party at the party’s national convention, held on October 30 and 31 at the Eagles Square in Abuja. He was, however, sworn in on December 10.
