Pls guys, I need to pay my tuition, but I have a naira account. What would you suggest I do, and which bank is better? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by bullstriker: 2:25pm On Jun 30, 2022 |
You can apply with your spouse and kids, and most of the information you noted is correct. You are not required to pay half of the tuition fee if it is not a condition for your admission. Having said that, paying half of your tuition will boost your chances of getting your application approved, as it speaks volumes of your financial capacity and intention to study. Although spouse and kids are strong home ties when you apply alone, if you have other ties like landed property, business etc., you can apply with them and still get the application approved. Landed properties make your application stronger in terms of ties and finance 2 yrs is better because you will get 3 yrs. of PGWP after completing your studies. This gives you the time to get the required work experience and apply for PR. However, you can still get your PR with a one-year program mainly if you apply to provinces with a provincial nominee program for students that studied in that province. The funds you need depend on the family size, tuition fee and sponsorship method. If you have a sponsor, you must have a one-year tuition fee and $10K, $4K, and $3K living expenses for you, your spouse, and each additional member, respectively. Note: providing minimum funds is not enough. You must have much more than that. I can help you secure admission if you need assistance. khaleesi: 2 Likes |

Ghazali34: What you can do is that your brother can pay for your school fees on your behalf (the same way a parent pays school fees for their child). There is no FX limit for school fees for most banks please note. |

bullstriker: Thank you alot for the prompt response. I have a few follow-up questions. Just to be clear from your response, If I decided to go for a year's programme, does it mean I will be unable to get a post graduate work permit and must have to go through a provincial nominee programme? If I decided to take another one year programme after the 1st one year, will it make me eligible for the PGWP? Also just to clarify from your response for each additional member living expenses is $3k, that will mean for my two children it will be additional $6k. My spouse and I are to be co-sponsors, is this okay and will the financial requirement change? Thank you |

Ojb555666:Hi It's rare to see such, more like 1 or 2 person out of 10 or 20 person gets approval with such Study pathway. So in a nutshell, the approval chances of this study pathway (Bsc going for another Bsc) is very slim. A Visa Officers will see a Bachelor's degree holder going for another Bachelor's degree as a WRONG PURPOSE OF VISIT a.d that's a refusal If you have a minimum of 2.1 with no long Study gaps, jejely go for a Masters. But if it's long you left school or you have a 2.2, 3rd Class, go for a Post Graduate Program at a college related to your Work experience to show Career Progression |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by bullstriker: 3:11pm On Jun 30, 2022 |
It is not impossible if it relates to the present occupation. However, it's easier to convince V.O of career progression when you go for a post-graduate program. If you are willing to share, why do you opt for undergraduate when you can easily get admission for most post-graduate programs regardless of your GPA. Enitan1998: |

francisxbee: Brethren, thank you for giving me hope. But for me I have moved on from the entire process. Today marks 8 months since I applied for the second time. This is after studying online for about 2 years now. My dear, my thoughts are now in applying for Phd in Australia. If Canada approves fine, if they don't approve, fine. My study in canada is on hold for this term, as I and my supervisor are working out modalities as to how I can complete my studies online. |

PPR ALERT!!! FIRST TIME APPLICANT My story; I was super excited when I woke up around 10 am this morning and saw two notification mails from IRCC , then I knew it was it, started smiling and quickly logged in to confirm it was real. Lol… Prior to getting the PPR this morning I had earlier woke up around 5 am to check the portal , lol cos I got series of ghost updates yesterday, but nothing was there. __Application timeline__ Application submitted - 5th April 2022 Biometrics done and complete- 6th April 2022 Medicals report request - 28th May 2022 Eligibility Review - 28th may 2022 Medicals done at IOM Abuja -2nd June 2022 Medical passed - 8th june June 2022 Sent series of Emails via webform and mail to IRCC, from the 10th week up until yesterday, intermittently though. PPR - 30th June 2022 Documents submitted(self sponsored) - Letter of Acceptance with co-op letter - SOP (2 pages) - Intl passport -proof of funds (Statement of account 4 months +with letter of reference from bank) and (investment letter from cowrywise ) -Cv That should be all. Funny enough, I wasn’t really focused on moving to canada, my priority was Portugal, because I read about many refusals and long wait time. However, after I got medical request, I became interested and anxious, so reactivated my Nairaland account. I was shocked when I came I on Nairaland Saw different applicants with extremely well packaged applications backed with with so many documents and I felt like Omoh, I no serious oo, lol. But God did it! Afterwards, I spoke to Frank global, Makano and Anon, they all said once I had gotten a medical request that my application was as good as approved, they gave me so much hope and I wanna take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to them. God bless you my bosses. I gotta be honest, my application wasn’t the near top 10000th applications I saw here, but it’s all grace and faith my people. God did it! Landing gist next, Canada here I come! 43 Likes |

1. Thank you a lot for the prompt response. I have a few follow-up questions. Just to be clear from your response, If I decided to go for a year's programme, does it mean I will be unable to get a post-graduate work permit and must have to go through a provincial nominee programme? If I decided to take another one year programme after the 1st one year, will it make me eligible for the PGWP? You will get a one-year PGWP if you complete a one-year program. You must not go through PNP. I mentioned PNP because sometimes one-year doesn’t afford you enough time to get the required work experience. However, you can get a couple of months of work experience in addition to the one-year work permit, which could give you more time for a federal program. Because you would be eligible to start work the day you submit your PGWP application, and the processing time could take months. By the time you receive your one-year work permit, you will have completed around three months of work. Most Federal programs require one year of Canadian work experience. If you complete an additional one-year program, you will get three years of PGWP. 2. Also just to clarify from your response for each additional member living expenses is $3k, that will mean for my two children it will be additional $6k Yes 3. My spouse and I are to be co-sponsors, is this okay and will the financial requirement change? Thank you It will not change if you have a business generating income in your absence. However, it doubles if you are employed and going for a two-year program. khaleesi: 1 Like |

Go with a post-graduate program that relates to your present occupation. You can always switch to your desired program when you get to Canada. Regarding study permit application, long study gap is not a red flag as long as you are employed. Ojb555666: |
