AkinDS: Semanya's case came before the Olympics. So Banda would not have played with high testosterone cos they definitely tested for it. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: Not necessarily. Semanya has been in the spotlite for this matter for quite some time now. Also worth nothing is the fact that most of the individuals in this situation that get the most attention usually engage in an individual sport. Recently, the swimming and cycling world federation have had to made similar pronouncements cause of this. A team sport like football probably shielded Banda, but with increasing attention, Banda was bound to go through this sooner or later. |

You're right. Rumblings had been in the works for Semanya for quite a while, prior to the Olympics. It was only a matter of time. Same thing happened to the Equitorial Guinea women's team at one time, with Bilguisa and Salimata Simpore going through similar accusations, forcing them to withdraw from the team. These things never end well and Zambia should have anticipated this kind of uproar. lovewins: 2 Likes |

AkinDS:Hmm, if that is so, my mind goes to the Tanzanian U17 lady who almost single handedly made them qualify for their first ever world cup. |

CAF Announce Use Of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) In Women's Awcon July 02, 2022 The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be used in all matches of the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco that kick-off today (Saturday). Twelve teams including Nigeria's Super Falcons are already in Morocco for the 12th edition of the competition. Caf director of Referees, Eddy Mailet who made the announcement said it's a bold step in the right direction. "This is a bold step in the right direction. As women’s football is growing in Africa, it is important that Africa adopt the latest trends and technology to enhance the game." "Africa has some of the best match officials in Africa in Morocco and training and development of them is key for us." Four female match officials, Salima Mukasanga of Rwanda, Carine Atemzabong of Cameroon and Fatiha Jermoumi, and Bouchra Karboubi from Morocco, were part of the list of match officials at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon and did an amazing job. He also said that by using VAR they are looking to continue the progress and development of CAF women's football "By using VAR for all matches at WAFCON we are looking to continue the progression and development of the standard of CAF women’s football,‘’ he concluded . 2 Likes

Barbara Banda still looks female enough na.... What of that Cameroon goalkeeper we're talking about yesterday? There is one that scored 5 goals in a match too...forgot her name and country. |

Deltamani: If na this one, our defenders no go escape o. Normally they do some tackles or fouls that refs don't see. But this var will work against the likes of Cameroon and CIV. Mehn they are very rough with the tackles and silly fouls. |

Schemerkhiz: I thought there's a rule in place that allow a player to be replaced if they get injured less than 24 hours to the team's first game in the tournament... Shouldn't there be a replacement for her ? |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 4:44pm On Jul 02, 2022 |
So why on earth is she on the list, at the expense of someone fitter? The girl has been on a decline and has not been active for quite sometime. This makes no sense whatsoever...unless she is an 'alternate' to the list of 23, in which case, she has zero chance of making the final 23, since the tournament has pretty much started. AkinDS: Let's just forget about this Okeke this and that... We already have a great team to work with. Even if Okeke is very much available, there's no way she's going to play ahead of Michelle Alozie at right back. 2 Likes |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by isan(m): 10:01pm On Jul 02, 2022 |
Dey don start Ojoro with VAR , why was the free kick replayed |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 10:02pm On Jul 02, 2022 |
As expected, the BS has started. Why was there a need to replay the freekick? The initial freekick, which was located closer to the goal, resulted in a save by the keeper. The VAR check was not a penalty and was confirmed. So, why didn't the ref just continue with play? Why the need to replay the freekick? The burkinabes were just robbed, big time! |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 10:03pm On Jul 02, 2022 |
Who is that animal in the VAR room. Then they allowed Morocco kick another freekick. This is just embarrassing |
