please how many times is the embassy allowed to reschedule interview date?..I am just tired about the shifting of interview dates up and down.My interview was supposed to be June 21th they sent me a mail few days to, that it has been rescheduled to July 1st which was supposed to be next 2morrow,only for me to receive another messages now that it has been rescheduled to July 29th again. My worry is what is the probability that July 29th is certainty not when it get close they will come up with another reschedule date. Please house has anyone experience this before?..It was since last year may I book appointment that they have been shifting up and down.

The embassy can reschedule as much as they feel they are ready to interview. So I'd advise you keep checking for changes.

Please does anyone here know how I can get DS-11 form for under 16 US passport renewal ? Please kindly email me on talk2kellyx@yahoo.com.

Thanks in advance

There is no Form 11 for " under 16". Where did you see/hear that?
Just fill out the same form and turn it in.

Going by the current situation of dates, I'd suggest you don't. The earliest date is not 2024

Can I contact you? I really don't know how to start all over again

The big question is
Why is your uncle willing to spend such a huge amount of money for you to travel to the US to further your education? People are looking for affordable schools. It doesn't make sense to them. So if you can honestly answer the question. Then you can go online and search for more affordable schools then apply again.

Stop giving monosyllabic answers..your wife could have done better..be explicit and take charge of interviews.
Effect001:
Had my. B1b2 family Visa interview last week Wednesday 22nd June at Abuja America Embassy . We where denied by the lady in window 11 ,it was very painful and sad experience especially for my two kids that cried after we were denied.
The CO mood was so down that she didn't give anyone visa before me while the other guy was just dashing out visa to people. Below is our transcript

CO: Good morning

Me: Good morning

CO: Why are you going to US?

Me: Going on vacation as a family

CO: Where are you going in US? :

Me: New Jersey

CO: Why New Jersey:

Me: Because my kids will like to explore the amusement parks and seaside towns and also myself and my wife will like to explore the resort there as a bonding moment

CO: What do you do?

Me: I am a business owner. I am the founder and Managing Director of Elisteph Ventures. The company is a distribution company for major electronics in Nigeria like LG,Sony Samsung etc

VO: Madam where do you work?

My wife :Alayo Catering service

CO:What do u do? :

My wife: Caterer

CO:Do u have family in the Us?
Me: No

CO: Do u have friends in the Us?
Me: No

I will welcome suggestions on tips of a better chance next time.

Guys pray for good consular officer to interview when ever you are going for your interview. It doesn't matter if your documents are all intact and purpose is genuine. From my experience the Visa officer personality and mood at that point matters in you getting visa

Shutting down ke? It means you are wasting time on the form. You have to be fast when you are filling the form so as to not log you out unexpectedly.

Hi everyone,

I hardly come to this thread, but in the little time I slide here, I learn a lot from the intelligent contributors on this US thread. Well done, guys.
I have a quick question, and I welcome answers and suggestions from anyone. Ethier DrStrangelove or any other person. I am open to different ideas and views.

My younger sister got a US visit visa ( before that, she had extensive travel history to the USA and Dubai) and travelled to the USA last year for vacation. Her permit in the US was about six months at the point of entry, but she made the mistake of spending too long, up 4.5 months. When I got aware that she had been in the US for that long, I had to instruct her to plan to leave the country immediately and travel back to Nigeria because I was aware of the risk, but it was too late; she had already spent 4.5 months.

She returned from the USA in November last year and then applied for a student visa in December because she got a full funding scholarship. The VO immediately denied her and, according to her, kept shouting, 4 months! 4 months!! 4 months!!! Who did you stay with? And all that etc. Without my knowledge, my sister went to try her luck again in January this year, and VO immediately denied her again, making 2nd refusal in a row. In the VO words, the second time, “you are not eligible.”

My question is, she has now just gotten her passport stamped for Canadian permanent residency, and she has already completed a semester In the United States studying remotely with excellent grades while still retaining the scholarship. Few thoughts came to my mind:

• Should she try reapplying for the student visa now from Nigeria since it is now seven months from the date of 2nd denial (which was January)? Then document on the DS 160 that she commenced studies and has achieved these grades so far but needs to be on campus because she needs to be physically present with her fellow cohorts regarding group projects they would be taking in the new semester.?

• Should she come to Canada first, spend some time in Canada, complete her first year online, and then apply from Canada?
She is currently working with a company as a manager, and her online programme is MBA.

You guys know better how USA immigration works, and any other helpful suggestion you think best is welcomed.

If she already has a Canadian permanent residency, why doesn't she just go to school there? Why punish herself by staying on a temporary visa, with all the restrictions that come with it? Once she gets a Canadian passport, she can go back and forth to the US as much as she wants. Going to school in the US will simply prolong how quickly she can apply for a Canadian passport as it does come with residency requirements.

Good evening Olasubomy,

I would like to concur with TWoods on this.

Ur younger sister had a good track record before her more than 4 month sabbatical in the US which resulted in her overstay. Am guessing the overstay had no defendable story or exemption behind it and it was done out of breach as am sure she knew of the repercussions.

Be that as it may, she is already on an automatic ban for a US visa hence the second denial, hence the VO's statement during that interview.

The good news is she has a Canadian PR, she should run with that. Let her school there if possible, they have good universities as good and acceptable in the US. She can try to finish her remote studies in the US college if that's possible but if not, she can switch to a Canadian one. She will get her passport after 3 years on continuous stay and can fly back to her US in no time which by this time, her ban would have been lifted. She can also wait to get a TN visa which would allow her work in the US for a period 3 yrs intials and then extend her stay from there if she's so particular about the US.

Goodluck

Good day,

Finding an appointment date in Lagos/Abuja is not for the faint hearted except u have very big bucks to throw around for magicians, like the one of the David Copperfield kind.

The earliest date are now in 2024. Prayer is that their calendar reaches an equilibrium soon with the pent up demand. Be that as it may, u will need to plan ahead and know when to apply due to the current situation.

Goodluck
