Let me give you an example of how bad the insecurity is.

Last month, I travelled from Lagos to Abuja by road.

Maybe I'm wrong, but no bus was willing to pass through Ibadan, Ife, Okene axis. No single one.

Their new route is Ore Akure, then they run the length and breadth of Ondo state before entering Kogi. A very long and tiresome journey.

Their reasons are just two.
1) The roads at Ekiti are bad. The driver told me if he passes it twice, he should be planning of buying another set of tires.

2) Insecurity. Kidnappings happen back to back there, especially at Kogi. So they resort to using this longer route that makes the fare more expensive

I paid 17,100 (GUO motors)

Maybe if some of us left our houses and see some things for yourself, you'll understand how pathetic the issue is

How do people lie conviniently to themselves and then try to make others believe such lies in the face of overwhelming evidence ?

I thought lie Muhammad is the one saddled with the responsibility of telling lies shamelessly in the face of contrary evidence ; but when ordinary citizens now take it upon themselves to paint a false picture of things , it calls for concern .

How can anybody confidently say Buhari’s government has done more for Nigeria security-wise compared to his predecessors ?

How ?

I was in the northwest in 2014 and most people living there will tell u for free that insurgency , banditry and religious/communal clashes that is now order of the day today was not heard of in the north west back then. In fact , students who were displaced by Boko haram in the north east were shared by Jonathan to north western states where they enjoy relative peace to continue their education fully paid by the govt while soldiers continue to fight the insurgents in the north east .

How can anybody now claim Buhari’s government has done well security wise ? Today we have gun wielding Fulani men kidnapping people not just in the north but places like Oyo , Ogun and even the east ( going by the account of the Methodist prelate that was kidnapped recently )

Omo ! I understand u might be living peacefully in Lagos , Dubai or any other part of the world u are , but the reality is clear as day . Today we have people going to church with guns and other weapons , we have communities paying bandits just to access their farms , we have bandits taking over major express roads and kidnapping people , we have bandits attacking trains and blowing rail lines with dynamites , we have bandits in hundreds attacking a major airport , in fact bandits even sacked the Nigerian military school and kidnapped officers without any hinderance .

Like some people actually can’t see Buhari’s government is a failure as far as security is concerned ?

Bobo, I have never seen this level of gaslighting in my life before.

These are evil and heartless bastards we're dealing with here.

Anyhow you want to spin it, insecurity has gotten worse under buhari. Before Buhari's inauguration, insecurity was mostly confined to the North east region. Can you honestly say that there is any safe region in Nigeria now?
Under buhari, every region are now creating their own security outfit, why?

That price is inflated by Konga, enter any Haier Thermocool store to get the real price. It should be around ₦200k plus sha

The bolded is where the main issue lies . Most people do not leave their safe space and do not understand what other fellow Nigerians go through in this present day .

One of the reasons my colleague relocated was this insecurity issue when it came to close to home for him. His parents are from Igangan where Fulani massacred people in cold blood ( which was one of the reasons Sunday Igboho took up arms after series of Farmers/herders crisis ) . My guy was livid and that period and was always lamenting how security has collapsed in those places . He was scared it could’ve been one of those days he travelled to pay grandpa visit and he was caught in the middle of the madness .

When his grandpa died his parents had to hire tons private security and police officers for their guests for the wake keep and burial for the two days. Immediately after the burial alaye travelled out with his parent’s blessings ( despite being their only child still in Nigeria as at that time )

People do not understand the hell other Nigerians go through physically, financially and emotionally as a result of these security challenges

Use the challenge he met and equate it with what we have today.

Let's leave Boko Haram aside, should we jump right into Banditry, Kidnapping, Herdsmen crises or the ones with IPOB and ESN?

Well you have to put the interest of your state first and put the Amaechi vs Wike interest in the backburner. If something works for Amaechi then you should build on that and not just destroy or discard it for your own reasons

unemployed youths in a large number are dangerous to any society and wont even allow businesses or investment from serious people
The bolded is true, in my town in Niger state, the issue of late night phone snatching became too much, like you can't go out from like 10pm and not risk loseing your phone. All it took for this to stop was the employment of some youths to patrol and arrest suspects and hand over to the police by the Emir. My point now is, this arrangement will continue to work cause the Emir is for life and not subject to change in 4yrs.

My point now is, In Nigeria politics that's is subject to change every four years, this will hardly work. Every government coming to power comes with his own people and will most likely try to use them like in the case of Tompolo ( Buhari coming and not continuing with the arrangement). I am also sure that if Tinubu or Atiku comes now, they will also want to come with their own people...

I don’t think I need to rebuke anybody per se. We are all adults and responsible for what we say and how we conduct ourselves .

Personally I do not see need to start defending people because they belong to my tribe . I’ve been with terrible people that are from my tribe and I’ve been with good people that are not from my tribe ; I deal with people mostly based on what they show themselves to be and not based on any ethnic or tribal affinity .

Maybe when I was much younger I would jump up to defend my tribe when I feel her entire people are being maligned and being brought to disrepute over an issue ; but that time has passed . Now I just want to make as much money as I can , connect with people , enjoy the good things of life and be at peace with myself and people around me . I suggest u do same.

I finished service and started my life in 2015.

I have worked in 3 firms. The first I resigned. The second was a bank and I resigned too. The third was an engineering firm and they retrenched us because they couldn't pay anymore.

I was jobless and decided to drive on Uber. I drove 3 cars and two of them are on NL. My last partner was a guy in the UK. I have never met him or seen his Pictures. He sent me a pm, gave me his address in Lagos, and gave me his Hyundai Elantra to drive.

When the car jacking issues were rising then, my family pressured me to stop and I refused. It was intense and I had to drop that car. The guy was really sad but that part ended.

I decided to enter into automobile spare parts, and that's where I am now. Its lucrative, but we the small scale ones can barely stay afloat because of how the naira is falling.

When I drag this government, its not for banters. I know where it affects me. I don't need to read online to know if Buhari is working. I see it everyday in my hustle. I know what it takes to make 1,000 profit.

So if this government is favouring anybody, don't interpret is as a theory. People who drag them have their stories too

Am I in Nigeria? Yes and No...... coz I do come to Naija at least once in 2 years. Security Situation is bad across the Country, yes I admit it.

What I am insinuating is; he's trying his best to equip the Military, so they can face the challenges squarely.

To be honest, our Military do not have the numbers. They are overstretched cos our police are so fuckin useless.

When Tinubu said Military should recruit 50m Youths, we take it for granted. 50m securing rest 200m ain't bad at all.

We need numbers to curb security challenges in Nigeria not only Weapons. At least 5m Youths need to be recruited into the force.

I recently travelled to Abuja as well. I followed GIGM, 17500. Do you know why they are avoiding Ibadan? Traffics. The ongoing Lagos Ibadan Expressway is causing serious Traffics in Ibadan, not because of Insecurity.

On my return, I joined a Sienna from Utako Motor Park to Osogbo, Osun State. We passed through Ekiti and the Road ain't that bad, though too narrow and quiet.

We barely saw police checkpoints, and it's because of the Numbers.... so poor. We need to recruit massively.

Buhari met the police force before he became president. The challenge was already there before he came on board.

7 years later, you're still making the same case for him. Why?

If anybody wins in 2023, he's to fix the problem,

I think you're not getting my point.

That link is probably drawing its data from routes to Lagos. It would have few to draw from other Ports in the country because vessels rarely go there.

So as long as Lagos waterways are safe, the stats would be good.

I don't really know how to explain it grin

Lagos is the only fully operational one.

Lagos is where all shipping lines prefer. If you build a deep sea port in Maiduguri, they won't go.

So, the FGs attention is focused here since the vessels don't want to try other places
