There are a number of schools, you just have to check and see which suits your budget. If you have any issues finding, then you may send an email.
You may want to check Memorial University of Newfoundland, Brandon University and University of Manitoba. They have low tuition.

You need to understand that a visa is not guaranteed for anybody even if you did upfront or not.

Doing an upfront medicals only helps to hasten the final decision process either negative or positive.

A positive decision can not be made on your application if you have not done your medicals hence why medicals are mandatory IF an approval will come.

If you choose to do upfront medicals is totally up to you.

if you application will be approved, you are usually sent a medical request but if its a denial, you will be denied even if you did upfront or not.

It’s 11 weeks after my Biometric (April 20), eligibility review hasn’t started yet.

I had to schedule a Medical appointment late last month and available date is in last week of July.

I’m to resume this fall. What’s your best advice for me?

Thanks

First, you need to relax — I understand it's not easy.

Second, wait for the next updates. You could get a medical request even before your medical appointment date if IRCC needs it to complete your application.

Or... You get an update after you complete your medicals and send the e-medical sheet via webform.

In the meantime, just remain optimistic and wait for your medical appointment while hoping to get an update from IRCC.

This is just my opinion, all the best.

Greetings my fellow Nairalanders,

It's indeed a great pleasure to be in your midst today. I wish to bring the attention of the public towards the FSW & CEC Express Entry Draws that is set to resume tomorrow being on the July 6, 2022. As many of you already know, this is Canada's major immigration pathway and is few hours away from a full resumption. The country is expected to see an increase in the number of newcomers over the next few years. This entails that potential immigrants can finally approach their immigration plans with a great deal of optimism through this route.

It would be an amazing idea if you guys could also explore this route for there are many on this platform who don't know how to navigate their way through this immigration pathway of becoming a Permanent resident of Canada. If I take the time to assess the participants (both active and passive readers) on this platform, you all will definitely see that over 55.5% of individuals here qualify to become a PR but undivulged to them due to lack of rudimentary knowledge about the whole process. Some see Express Entry stream as a difficult one, hence focusing all their energy and attention to study permit.

It is relevant to say that while you're pursuing your dream of studying in Canada, you can also explore other immigration streams like Express Entry, for it is also feasible to be an international student and have your PR before graduation. This will be at your own benefit as your exorbitant international student fees will be slashed/reduced to that of a Canadian citizen.

As clearly stated on IRCC immigration regulations and manuals, - having 2 intents (1 for temporary residence and 1 for permanent residence) is legitimate, insofar you can demonstrate that you will depart Canada at the end of your authorized stay as required by section R179. On this note, you can have both Study Permit and Express Entry profile running concurrently!

Don't waste more time! Let this piece of information be an insight and eye opener to the smart ones here especially now that the borders have finally reopened. So, you can be in a position to receive an ITA through EE stream.

Use this link: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp to calculate whether you meet the basic eligibility criteria for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).

1. Proof of funds
2. Education Requirements: Get your credentials evaluated by WES,
3. Language Proficiency - Have a good score in your IELTS exam by scoring 8,7,7,7 and
4. Show proof of work experience. At minimum, you need at least one year of skilled work experience within the past 10 years that will match your primary occupation in your immigration application. To get the full 15 points, you need at least six years of eligible work experience. Having only one year of work experience will get you nine points. Two to three years is enough for 11 points, and four to five years equates to 13 points.

Having said all of the above, I wish everyone the best of luck in their pursuit for a brighter future in Canada.

Hello everyone!!

I would really appreciate insight on how to go about this:

I got admission for January intake which I plan to submit study permit with but I need some suggestions on how to go about the proof of funds:
Part of the proof of funds was gotten from sale of land which is a lumpsum and having gone through this forum I find conflicting advice on using sale of property as evidence of source of funds:
I have two options:

Option 1: Since the sale was in June, I can wait it out till October when the lumpsum from the sale will not be reflected on the bank statement. The catch here is I feel I will be quite late applying for study permit against January considering the wait times to get reply from IRCC

Option 2: I could pay my whole tuition fee (it is a one year program) and have my parent transfer all the living expenses to me then explain it in my SOP and back it up with all the necessary documents. This gives me the option to apply early.

I also wasn't quite sure if using Option 2 I'd still have to submit my parent's bank statement after payment of fee and transferring living expenses.
I'll appreciate anyone's suggestion regarding this @anon123 @justmellow @lekiboboe @makano @Frankrobbn1

Thank you as I await your responses!!

Hello boss, I need your opinion and any other guru’s opinion on this. I applied my study permit with 20m the 20m was transferred from my sponsor micro finance acc to normal savings acc and was later moved from the savings acc to fd in the same savings acc information, I submitted the fd certificate and Savings bank statement with low balance and I explained i uploaded the statement alongside certificate just to proof that money was taken from the savings acc to fd in the same savings bank statement. I want to ask if there’s anything I need to do?

Thank you soooooo much for the detailed response. it's very clear now.

I am a film producer. i am considering digital marketing communications as well. Do you think that would work?

Lekiboboe:

Hi, I can be able to answer your no. 2 and 3 question

2) Entertainment is very wide like Computer with lots of branches, that being said, What Entertainmentjob are you into Are you an MC, Music Promoter, Musician, Film Producer, Music Producer, Dancer, Comedian, Movie Actor, DJ?

Your response to the above question will determine the PG. CERT program you can go for to show CAREER PROGRESSION as an ENTERTAINER

3) Before your PGWP expires, you must have applied for PR via express entry. That's why it is advisable for an international to do a two years program or you finish 1 program and do another program (1+1) to get 2-3 years PGWP. If you go for only a year program, you get only 1-year PGWP, after finishing that you can't get it again (PGWP is once in a lifetime). That means you will be expected to leave Canada after that 1 year PGWP becomes obsolete.

For a two years program or 1 +1 program, out of the 2-3 years PGWP you get after finishing a 2-years or 1+1 program, you are eligible to apply for CEC after 1 year fulltime work experience of your PGWP, then the remaining 1 or 2 years will give you more time to Prepare your PR application (do IELTS OR CELPIP, get all requires docs, etc.) and submit

Hi Guys,

I’m back to share the last part of my story! God has finally done.

I started the journey I 2019 when I applied for the SINP nominee program. In January 2021, my application was rejected based on POF. Why? Not because I’d do not show the requested amount, but because I transfer part of the money to an investment account and failed to show the proof as well as LOE.

Due to my determination, I applied again that same month. Fortunately for me, I received another ITA in February 2021, and submitted a complete application in April 2020.

I decided not to put all my eggs in one basket, in the same month of February, myself and my spouse applied to four different colleges (paid application fees) and got admitted to two of the colleges.

Despite having ongoing SINP application, we decided to pursue student route. I reached to different agencies both home and abroad to assist with the student application and also include my family. Most of the feedback centered around me applying first and after three months, my family can join me.

Because I don’t want leave my family behind, I decided to DIY and as God may have it, I submitted the application in April 2021 along with visit visa for spies and kids.

In September 2021, my student visa was approved along with my family visit visa.

I deferred my admission to May 2022 because I did not want to start from Nigeria.

In December 2021, I received nomination letter from SINP and submitted my express entry application on 8th of January 2022

On the first of April, I travelled along with my family to Canada.

Just last two weeks, my express entry application was approved and got my COPR last week.

This platform played a major role and I’m so gratefully.

For those that are still awaiting decisions on their application, be optimistic, it will surely come. Don’t cut corners, follow the process.

If you need any information/clarification, feel free to reach out to me at aababasola@gmail.com

Congratulations to you

You can apply but the bad news is that you will pay the total $235cad visa and biometrics fee.

The good news is once you pay and submit, ircc will automatically update your visa portal with the biometrics details of your last biometrics which means you wont need to do biometrics and ircc wont send you an invite.

Someone said the same thing to me when I went there last 2 Fridays. They told me they no longer accept passports in person. I had to use DHL again. And not putting my consent letter its my problem now and I already mailed my passport. But unfortunately my online was updated today like they have the passport. So you gotta use courier and make sure you put that yellow slip of when you did biometric that yellow receipt make sure you include it.
