A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Adamu Maina Waziri, has disagreed with the decision of the party to plead with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State over the choice of Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as vice-presidential candidate.

There has been crisis in the opposition party since former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the party, named his running mate.

The Chairman of the PDP BoT, Walid Jibrin, had on Sunday, said the party would send a delegation which will include Atiku, Okowa, the National Working Committee and BoT members to reconcile with Wike.

But Adamu Maina Waziri, former Minister of Police Affairs, faulted the idea, describing it as ill-informed.

“Wike is desperate and he needs time to be comforted over what happened. I agree with the reconciliation but where we part ways is the issue of sending that mighty delegation to kneel for him,” he said

“Whatever decisions the party made, all obedient members should abide, we must keep aside whatever happened during primary elections and move on, the party is bigger than the interest of all of us.

“Wike said he would not be running mate to anybody therefore we must find someone who will work smoothly with our presidential candidate.”

Waziri also debunked the rumor that Atiku sent him to speak with Wike in Turkey.

“Atiku didn’t not send me anywhere but of course I was in Istanbul Turkey for my leave last Friday and we coincidentally met in a hotel, that’s just it,” he said.

The Rivers governor lost to Atiku in the May primary election.

Wike is overated

The earlier you guys let him be the better.

Just anybody can be made to be a Wike. You guys must understand now like never before that Wike can do everything to truncate the victory of the party. Less attention should be given to him if he feels he is bigger than the party.

Wike cannot take the fact away that PDP made him and in the party's wisdom they have asked him to take a pause, he should respect it.

His fellow governors are not in support of him because they are envious of his confidence and clout. He's not the only governor with money in the south, what about the delta and Akwa Ibom state governors?

Mind you, his allies cuts across North and south, just this evening, the PDP chairman in Kano held a press conference, demanding for the National chairman resignation. He has the resources to wreck the PDP boat if they don't appeal to him, it'll be very easy to turn the southerners against the PDP especially as Obi is on the ballot and a Notherner just completed an 8 years tenure.

How many governors in Nigeria have fellow governors as loyalists? You saidvhe bankrolled the party from 2015, dont you he should be compensated? Wike might be a garrulous and concieted brute, but he is for a good reason. The survival of the PDP post-2015 general election can be credited almost entirely to Wike.

When others were fleeing the crumbled umbrella like bats out of a cave at sunset, Wike stuck around, braved the storm, and gave the party a lifeline which saw to its resurrection.

It is only fair that he be given some uncommon concessions and privileges. Anyone in his shoes would demand and expect the same.

Buhari case is different don't forget,Govs off Ebonyi, abia n enugu intentionally delivered 25% to APC out of their non acceptability of obi seen as a stranger in the party...tinubu 25% might be far fetched in all honesty..tinubu is more despised than buhari in the south east honestly...even in ebonyi wt an APC gov I doubt if he will see 25% honestly...even in the south south d only state as things stand he will see reasonable votes is Edo due to oshiomole factor in Edo north
