After some research online and a few discussions with some gurus here, I decided to use octane booster as recommended by some people and from reviews online, it works well to improve engine efficiency on cars that should use premium fuel only.

I needed to be sure which one will work well with my car cos from some other reviews, I noticed that some octane boosters are only for off road use and cars without catalytic converter.

After a lot of research, I decided to order this K&N performance octane booster from Amazon. Did a little research of the product company and they don't have any negative reviews plus it's an American company which means they probably passed some recommendation tests before they can sell this.

Long story short, it was delivered 8 days later and I used it for the first time.
The result is amazing. Apart from the fact that my car now has an improved horsepower, the engine drives so smooth and I can feel the difference in the performance of the engine.
I haven't noticed any negative response yet and I hope not for the sake of my new car. Lol

So if you're facing the same problem of premium fuel, I'd recommend you order this. It's not exactly very cheap ($10 per one) but if you don't mind efficiency over price then you should buy it. I bought 8 and in total that was $185 with the shipping fee (priority shipping) a lot much lesser if you don't want to use priority shipping.

If there is anyone in Nigeria that sells this exact octane booster, kindly indicate so I can keep buying from you after I used up this instead of waiting 8 days for it to be delivered.

Many of the ones sold in Nigeria are fake. They don't work. So I'd suggest you buy from the US

I use Chipper cash app virtual dollar cards for my transactions. The limit is $10,000 unlike our regular bank.

Op is this a one off purchase and use item? Are you planning to keep using it for your entire ownership of the vehicle? You say you buy it with black market dollar rate?

$10 = N7,500
full tank of fuel = N14,000

FUEL FOR 2 WEEKS OF MODERATE USE = N21,500

for me, bringing out such an amount just for fuel 2 - 3 times a month is not wise, i would just get used to the pinging and manage it like that or sell off the vehicle.

remember that subsidy will go next year and dollar will keep on rising.

I have 3 cars so it's for special occasions and I have to admit, the octane booster helps a lot cos I can always feel the engine runs better with it. It's not about flaunting money, I'm just maintaining my cars. I'll spend any amount to keep my car in perfect condition cos at the end of the day when you're doing 140km/hr, your life is no longer yours, it belongs to your car and your car will never forget when you should have spent money on her and you didn't. Lol

Dey play, tomorrow they start complaining about invisible over heating. If you have a cheap small car, no problem. But for any performance cars, you do not play with pinging. If its too expensive for you to buy premium fuel, don't buy expensive cars. Nigeria still has one of the cheapest fuel in the world even with subsidy removed.

Why does the c300 always have engine issues in Nigeria especially?

Nigeria fuel is 85. The lowest fuel abroad is 89. If you use 89 abroad in some cars, your warranty is voided.........that's how serious it is.

Just like saying 25k for engine oil is too expensive let's manage vegetable oil.....of course it will work, your engine will run....the question is, for how long?
