When Buhari became the 2015 All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, he also gained an existing crowd of online supporters. Some of them fancied themselves as progressives, having developed their moral bona fides from strident criticisms of Jonathan. If you think Obi’s supporters are passionate, then you should have seen the fundamentalism and ferocity of Buhari’s followers. You dare raise your voice and they will creep out of every woodwork and wormhole to pillory you for supporting “corruption.” Even after the election, their self-righteous rage remained insufferable. Any contrarian thought was immediately chalked down to bitterness. Some of us were labelled “angry” because, according to them, our regular supply of brown envelopes ended with the corrupt Peoples Democratic Party. They maintained their monomania, although after the 2019 elections it started to fizzle out. Who knows whether they have now exhausted their partisan energy or the rising price of foodstuffs has finally ameliorated their enthusiasm. Whatever passion they have left in their bodies after supporting a serially failed President is now being expended on moaning about Obi’s supporters. Sorry, but you too had your own time in the sun. It is turn-by-turn. Book your seats in anticipation of 2027 already. This part of the write-up was solely dedicated to all buhari urchins present here on NL! 2 Likes 1 Share |

''The internet itself is very much like the marketplace we read about in mythological tales—all kinds of creatures gather there to transact all kinds of business. Rather than trying to decree the tone and substance of conversations, it is much easier to find one’s corner of the internet where like-minded individuals gather and engage them''. 1 Like |

Elliotwaveforec: If only Igbos are the ones supporting Peter Obi, then they love Nigeria more than other tribes, which is ironic! No lover or patriot of Nigeria will ever support parties that brought her to this pathetic point in history (APC and PDP)... Neither will any one with sense support or campaign for individuals who played key roles in bringing Buhari to power! Nigeria will not be here today if Buhari never came anywhere near Aso Rock. So, comment with some intelligence please! |

helinues:Hahahahahaha they're pained that he has been mobbed by the ravaging youths. We're ready for you guys that have cultivated the habit of plunging this country into suffering every election, then turn back and blame or go incommunicado when the failure they supported start manifesting or even blatantly supporting their failure just to save face. never again!!! election is an avenue for citizens to better their lives through voting the right leaders not an inter tribe competition or inter religion competition. enough is enough. you have the right to vote your candidate but you don't have the right to force a tested failure Into our mouth because we'll fiercely resist it with whatever means necessary. Apc is already a tested failure and the majority of the masses have rejected it 100% anybody seen supporting the criminal party and the those who want to take THEIR TURN in rapping Nigeria will be treated as enemy of the state. the youths are coming!!! shey una tell us during last year end Sars to voice our opinion through ballot? thanks for the advice because we're going to do exactly that. 1 Like |

You candidate goofs on every interaction with the media, should that not be a red flag? I really pray that he is bold enough to attend the presidential debates. |

Truly, it is well expressed by the above Writer instead of telling a bittered Nigerian not to support his/her choice of Presidential candidate, you are better off scaling your space to suit you. Thanks Abimbola for that piece. GOOD QUALITY IS EXPENSIVE NOT CHEAP Indeed quality and good products are expensive to have. It follows in human and character grading. What makes a product qualitative and seemly good is the discipline employed in its formation to meet the highest standard in the market at any point in time. So it follows with human characterisation and leadership. In Nigerian political landscape today among the few with the highest quality of leadership that is characterised by discipline are Prof. Yemi Osibanjo and Mr. Peter Obi. No wonder senator Abubakar Girei, APC Convention Managment Committee described Prof. Yemi Osibanjo as the real winner of the APC Presidential primary because he didn't go the cheap path of vote buying and still recorded a good number of votes. Mr. Peter Obi has shown discipline, a rare trait in handling public funds unlike most politicians today in Nigeria. Why are these two men expensive to afford as President? Truly it will cost those who have considered themselves godfathers and kingmakers too much if any of these men becomes the president of Nigeria. Are you surprised? Yes, they will cease having uncontrolled access to our commonwealth, and that means they have to work to earn. It will cut down their huge appetite on luxurious goods at the expense of the nation. They may be made to account for their stewardship to the country. It is indeed expensive for the so called ruling class to afford any of the above mentioned men as president. But to the ordinary Nigerians, it is very cheap to have either of the two men as president of Nigeria. Such presidency will focus on ordinary Nigerians in their programs and plans. Nigerians will be better off. Schools will not be shut. Hospitals will work. Amenities will be assured. Living will become easier for ordinary Nigerians as the commonwealth will be utilized for all. The so called ruling class would not want to see the majority of Nigerians live a happier and easier lives. They prefer using a cheaper path to impose a cheap choice as a president on the country. What are their cheaper paths? humans have natural tendencies like greed, emotion attached to his/her origin, religious inclination etc. Any successful man/woman must have freed himself/herself from allowing these natural tendencies to becloud his/her power of reasoning. These tendencies are what the so called godfathers, kingmakers or the ruling class have been using to hold us bounded to their whims and caprices over the years. This is why you hear about tribe, religion and vote buying which are all used to massage these our natural tendencies to make us to do what they want. After the elections, we wouldn't see them or hear them again talk about religion, tribe, and they wouldn't come to give you money again until the next election. It is cheaper path for them but for the ordinary Nigerians, it is an expensive path to follow. If I have taken money from a politician to vote for him; have all my relations, family and friends also given theirs? If no, the money I collected will it be able to solve my problems, that of my relations and solve the problems of my friends? If no, will the politician continue to give me the money every week, month or year? If still no, then it is very expensive for us to do what they want us to do for them to win. God has given us brains and consciences to use, and to help ourselves by doing and choosing the best for our country in our decisions. The Ordinary President, Ahmed Isah of Brekete Family once asked his audience. If comes a situation you want to enter a car to travel, and someone comes to you and ask you your tribe because there are three drivers going to your destination: the first is an Hausa man, the second is Yoruba man and the third is an Igbo man. But he also tell you the best driver among the three divers. The question is would you still want to enter with the driver from your tribe if he is not the best driver? If no, it is worthy to note that elections and who becomes the president of Nigeria is much more a serious decision to make. So, choose the right candidate without any consideration of religion or tribe. Looking at our presidential hopefuls. Who among them has the best of character to lead and salvage our country. Without good character leadership becomes faulty. And we have been seeing this over the years. If need be, it is time to go against what our pastors or imams may tell us as regards who to vote. Insist on voting the best candidate. Voting someone we can trust with our funds and lives for the next 4 years. Someone who has the capacity like a good driver to drive the economy of our country for our common good. Michael C. Odor 2 Likes |

helinues: What do you expect to change? It started with Buharits in 2015 which you were part of. And making it an "Obi supporters thing" is totally unacceptable. You, Tinubu supporters are also doing it and your boss have never apologized to anyone. If Tinubu and Atiku boys would focus on their candidates and leave Obi alone we won't be having this discussion. Every interview they would mention Obi and Ibo's. A typical example of those senseless supporters that fills thus for I'm with curses on a daily basis is Mannerbbgrills |

What Peter Obi's supporters are doing is child's play compared to what supporters of Buhari did where many youth corpers lost their lives. The worst was that Buhari never denied them nor called them to order like Peter is doing now. Nigerians are hypocrites. Thank you Abimbola. 4 Likes |
