I’m especially curious about timelines. Congratulations, bro! I landed same role with a similar US tech company (Polish branch) months back. Now, I have my Work Permit (took less than a month to obtain that, based on priority for highly-skilled/in-demand role), and I have all other documents set now. I’ve just entered this VISA appointment ballot thing. Hoping an appointment comes soon. But this thread is scaryyy lol 2 Likes |

But I am very conflicted
I had already given up kpata kpata
Infact I already applied for Canadian visa lol and I made no financial plans for this but I will push regardless
Sorry for the late reply I had really given up on this whole journey so even coming here became pointless and reading the weekly rejection mail was painful
Sadly I'm in the same position. Can I ask how long it took you? I've been receiving rejection emails for 18 weeks now |

Re: Poland Work Visa by counter44: 4:01am On Jul 24, 2022 |
szczescie: I did mine, the list had about 10 names of people to be interviewed on the day. Only 2 + me = 3 showed up
[It’s possible that the validity of the documents entitling some of the absentees to come to the embassy has already expired or something else I can’t explain but I’d love to know]
My time was 10:30am 5 others were slated for earlier (8am-ish) but only 2 showed up and they had both left before I came. I suspect this was the case because on the list only those 2 were marked present and their details filled, out of all the people whose time was earlier than mine but everyone else was left blank even though their time had passed.
It was minutes past 9am and I was called in, I was shocked I had assumed I’d have some time to relax and collect my thoughts, I also erroneously assumed the crowd outside were all for visa interview. Only to find out I was the only one present for the interview.
They brought a list and asked of my name and time. I pointed it out to the guy: I was number 5 or 6 on the list. One Naija security instructed another: “Tell them someone is here for 10:30am” The white security: “Ok let him in, tell him to come”
It was all good, I entered; I had no chance to explain myself just quick fire questions about 10 questions and that was it. I answered everything to the best of my ability.
The lady went through my documents returned one original, she was pissed I stapled my passport photograph “did you get that information from the gate?” She yelled. I replied “I did that long before I arrived abuja, I’m the only one for interview at the gate and the form said…” she wasn’t interested in my explanation she proceeded without letting me finish.
The thing pain me small because I felt I hadn’t said the most important thing I wanted to say but I kept it in. played it off.
I was going to say the form CLEARLY states ‘Passport’ with a rectangle for passport and the list clearly states colored 35*45 passport photograph with white background so it was only logical that I or someone else would place the passport on the area designated for passport. You can’t tell me in all the years that embassy has been there I am the first or only person to have placed a passport on the place marked Passport.
This wasn’t some cheat, hack or expo, or even something I thought would be of any real importance. The date of arrival I had thought would be off more importance was scuffed aside like it was nothing. She gave me the document to change something and sign. Write something else and sign.
So that passport Thing was the only notable stormy water or rough play incident, she took off the passport photo and gave it back to me and stapled the second passport to the form
She had succeeded in destabilizing my train of thought, I had to slow down and started repeating my answers twice, and more slowly. I felt she may have assumed someone coached me at the gate and maybe I crammed the answers, since I may have been giving all the answers they wanted to hear.
By 10:08 I was out already. Still no one else came for the interview till my ride arrived and I left at almost 10:20, you’d think anyone scheduled for 10:30 would be at the venue at 10:20 latest.
There were a lot of people present when I arrived earlier but most of them were there to complain and non of them was allowed in for various reasons ranging from no appointment date yet to late arrival and more.
But the number of people there to complain scared me. All the seats were taken some had to stand.
By the time I came out every one of them had left or were leaving out of frustration except one guy who was sitting, [another cause for concern especially for someone such as myself who needs to take a flight to abuja and book a hotel to do anything at the embassy].
All in all I felt it was too easy and I don’t like when things like these are too easy because it’s a little nerve wrecking it feels like a set up, maybe it’s PTSD from my days in University where certain lecturers would give us questions like “what is law” “give 10 definitions of law as test questions for 10 marks” and at the end of the day the whole class would fail because it was a trap or only meant to prove something to us and make us buy a handout. Especially when you know the lecturer has been placing emphasis on names of those who bought the handout and saying things like “you can’t pass this course without this book”, away from my PTSD of easy questions.
To me it seemed easy because I love politics, government, history, general knowledge, geography (I hated geography in school because of the teacher tho) and all that stuff so nothing was challenging to me. As I was answering them I said to myself are you sure this woman will not say I got all these answers from the gate too if she said that about fixing passport photograph to a place designated “passport”. This lady may be paranoid oh or it is just tactics to through me off. Because everything else up until then was 100% smooth.
But then I saw maths and my heart sank, alarm started blowing in my brain I had to calm myself down took 3 deep breathes solved the first and 3rd they were very easy (they had the least number of signs) but the middle one was more technical with plenty signs (x/and divide) so I needed one extra breathe it was also doable and I submitted
Now we await the outcome.
You know how something to you is such a big deal, you’ve spent months or even years gathering and preparing but to the people in charge or on lookers, the guys who determine your fate you’re just another statistic, just another days job, I mean to you it’s months or years of work and preparation to them it’s just another 10-15 minutes in the office LOL that’s the reality of things like these. Or another more gruesome example is how to the mortuary attendant it’s just another dead body but to someone else it’s a loved one with many shared experiences, dreams, hopes, aspirations etc. etc,
That’s why I hate when things like these are too easy and the indifference is to the max, although it’s better than certain other outcomes. So we take solace in that.
For those who have been lucky and filled with grace to get to this point, my wish for us all is that same grace and luck continues to carry us till the very end. -BB Hi there, any update regarding your application? |

To be very honest with you i think it is best you take your mind off Poland, i got my work permit resigned from my job in Nigeria since January 2022 and up till now i still receive those useless email every saturday of not being given appointment date. Thank God i got another job and i already moved to Ireland. Christabel20: Yes I did, have been receiving emails from the embassy saying I'm not selected for the the available draw appointment I should wait for the next one. I applied through e-konsulat that's online using their portal. Please I need help because the company I'm supposed to work with are getting worried. They made a request to the embassy here in Nigeria and still no appointment, is there another way for me to book the appointment? |

MoDuPe19201:
Sergienko Lawyers is just like one of the agencies that helps in getting work permits documents. It doesn’t mean if they get you the work permits, the visa is guaranteed. They’re genuine in terms of getting you the documents to apply for visa. Getting the visa is left to you, the embassy and your God.
Makeup Jobs? Urmm Not really! But you can make your findings tho cause I don’t know everything.
You’ll be the one to process your visa. The company would only support you with documents and work permit.
Yes most companies provide accommodation and transportation from home to work. You’d have to take care of your feeding.
Visa fee is 80euro. Insurance fee depend on the company you’re using.
Flight ticket depends on when you’re booking it(prepare 350k for it)
Run your account properly, try and have at least 700k balance.
It doesn’t matter the how many pages the cover letter is , just write it properly and genuinely.
You’d fill your details on the visa form online and print it out for submission.
Everyone should read everything , I think most questions have been answered here now. No need for anyone to be asking the same again.
Good luck guys Goodone bro |

I tried the verification process last 10th of January yet still document entitling you to work is not positively validated. The company that issues the work permit from Poland has t written to polish embassy in Nigeria about this issue 3times yet the embassy refused to reply the company. The worst is that Indian welders and Azerbaijan welders which the company issues same work permit has gotten their visa and has started work in Poland since August. The manager of the company has tried everything possible to ensure that Poland embassy in Nigeria give us appointment yet no avail. The worst is that we are five welders affected. 6months has gone out of the work permit. Pls how much is the pay per month in naira? |

Probono4naija:
#Let me try to help you. 1. I am base in Poland, Austria, Germany and the UK. (am a consultant myself but only take instructions from networth individuals and Nigerians already abroad processing travel for thier family or love ones back home.) I just set up this account and will be doing probono here to help with the little I can (please DO NOT Private chat me but post all your questions here so others can benefit and also, I may not answer questions which has correctly been answered by myself or someone else).
2. The work permit you posted seems OK but it's origin seems fishy. (which is the Norm for those of you who do not know as well as for those who were lucky to get a visa as a result of one or two mistakes from the embassy staffs).
3. To this document you posted above, you can verify the document which changes nothing because the company employing you and the agency you paid money to, to help you secure a job is the same person.
4. On the document, you can see the name of the company Maison Polska sp Zoo. i.e Maison Poland Ltd. ( yes the company do exist and was registered in 2018. (you can see that on the Polish trade registry ( it called krs) just Google: maison polska spzoo krs and you will see all the information you need as well as the owner and directors.
5. Now, where you have problems, the agency that got you the job: FOLGERO SPÓŁKA Z OGRANICZONĄ ODPOWIEDZIALNOŚCIĄ i. e FOLGERO Ltd. Everything still points out that it is the same old tricks. This are just work permits Mill tricks ( it's a deception, an immigration offence but it is legal).
6. This is how it works: the company set up a recruitment agency or vise versa and then they take money from you and apply for a permit which cost 100zl i.e 25 euros and pocket the rest 500plus euros which is a Hugh sum of money in Poland from you plus others (10?,20? 50 Foreigners?) . The job do not exist ( if you are lucky to get the visa, you have to find your way on arrival in Poland) and if asked by the authorities, why they are submitting a new application or so many applications, they will say you did not arrive Poland or you left. So this how they make thier money. Sometimes they sell thier clients an already used work permit.
7. From your document, the owner of the agency is the managing director of Maison polska spzoo (Mrs. LIBERSKA, BOŻENA) and both the recruitment agency and the sponsoring company has the same address which might be there residential address. Now a recruitment agency is operating and welcoming job applicants and other employers directly from a welder or wood workshop (this is not the norm in Poland for a prestigious recruitment company) or a welding company.
8. This is same Tricks used by all the Ukrainian companies or lawyers mensioned above.. 99% of the companies sponsoring the Nigerians/Indians/Pakistans, Ukrainians, Moldovans etc etc are dummy companies.
9. It is legal, in the sense that there is no law that says a dummy company cannot employ someone but illegal in the sense that they only take money from you to give you a job which does not exist and leave you to your faith (if you get the visa, fine, and if not, you are own your own as there will be no refund).
10. Most times, they pray you don't get the visa so you don't put them in trouble (because on arrival in Poland, the law requires them to fulfil what was on that contract between you two. Also again, most times those contracts are not binding as they are mere promises. (preliminary contracts). So it's difficult to persecute anyone.
11. Maison polska cannot pay you 2800 PLN monthly ( from my research, its a very very small company on debts which if the embassy research and also finds outs, can lead to your refusal).
12. The permit might be genuine in the sense that the kind of job welding, carpenter, tailor, seemtress, English teacher etc are jobs that easily get approved during the labour market test from the voivodship office and then sports persons (which are automatic without underdoing any labour market test).
13. Let me make something clear, someone posted that he got a job as a store keeper (Those are lies) as such jobs will NEVER EVER be approved by the employment office as there 1000s of unemployed in Poland or any eu country to fill such positions. If any agency promises you such kind job, run away (you don't speak Polish and want to undertake job that requires everyday / work place communication).
14. The labour market test means, before a foreigner is been employed, the voivodship office places that advert from the employer/sponsor who wants to employ a foreigner to the national system for Polish citizens and eu citizens and other 3rd world citizens legally in Poland to apply 1st. If no suitable candidate is found and also those unemployed registered with the labour office are not qualified for the position, then the permit is granted after 30 to 60 days.
15. The Polish consulat in Nigeria is not friendly to Nigerians as well as those African countries it has jurisdiction over (they are after their 80euros and if rejected, the other appeal fees of which the appeal will still be rejected). It should be noted that the Polish system gives the consul such much powers which often times are been abused (e.g a consular staff or the consular reject a visa application and that same person still examines the appeal without pushing it to a neutral or higher authority. (mala administration)
16. The system is corrupt deep down and unfortunately most Western embassies see that Nigerians are desperate and exploit on this (visa fee, appeal fee, lawyer fee, legalisation fee etc etc)
17. As to your solutions, you can contact the agency ( LIBERSKA, BOŻENA) to either refund you less ca. 100 PLN which is ca. 25 euros they paid to the voivodship office for the work permit by telling them that you know that same agency owns the sponsor company and you are about getting a polish lawyer to contact the prosecutor office because it is illegal in the sense that they took money from you to give you a job (which means thier company mode of operation is to / was set up to circumvent immigration laws). Or they should send you the original work permit and after the visa is approved, you will pay their balance becos you have very slim chances at the moment and on your arrival in Poland, you take on studies or migrate legally.
18. Do not post official document online and be careful with whom you communicate with as most embassies staff are following posts here as well. There was a direct question asked by someone in on of the past pages. Such questions can only come from a consular department.
19. Good luck to you on others.
Baba u just burst my head Thanks for the probono services |
