So I used tomato paste but if I don't tell you, from the taste you'll think it's fresh cos of the way I prepared it.

Ingredients.

Marinated chicken with thyme, curry and seasoning cubes with tiny bit water and placed on the fire to steam a little before adding water enough to cook it.

Fried chicken until it was golden brown.

I took out the chicken and added onions, tomato paste, dry pepper and fresh pepper and fried it for some mins until it was dry and the oil was sizzling on the surface.

the moment wey I see the heading, I know say na you!! You like good food...Nice!!!!!!!! But nor vex ooo, artificial things too much for the stew

And why is the rice looking like porridge rice?

Nice one..I guess i would be adding the water used to boil the turkey or chicken next to give more taste...i dont know what am doing wrong but the stew always taste harshdespite using raw tomatows and even adding tomato paste...

I would rather eat that with white yam. I like the stew on my rice really smooth and not chunky.

Shut up. I am Igbo, and so called 'Yoruba stew' tastes better than 'Igbo stew'.

Of course you should. very important to add the meat stock/water and if it's still tasting harsh, try dousing it with enough dry ground pepper and add one or two bay leaves. It will balance out the taste.

Also let the water in it dry completely on the fire before bringing it down. Don't let it burn though. Stay close and keep stiring it from time to time to prevent burning.

Dry pepper does the trick for me.
