A cross section of Nigerians have frowned at the reported decision of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, to pick a northern Muslim running mate.

Tinubu reportedly picked Borno Central Senator, Kashim Shettima as his vice presidential candidate.

He had earlier submitted the name of Kabiru Masari to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as his place holder.

But, most Nigerians had frowned at the decision, while calling on Tinubu to pick a Christian from the northern part of the country as his running mate.

Political stakeholders had said picking a northern Christian was in the interest of fairness, equity, and balance.

But, following Tinubu’s alleged decision to settle for Shettima, some Nigerians have expressed divergent views on the development.

All I know is that by the grace of God I will not vote for Muslim -Muslim ticket.

Even with the religious tensions & killings in the country, this bat still went ahead with Muslim-Muslim ticket to further heighten the tensions & further divide the country along religious lines.

I am a proud Omoluabi & I am opining that Tinubu picking a Muslim running mate clearly indicates the fact that his government won't have any regard for Christians in Nigeria and Christian would likely suffer more than how they are suffering under the current administration, it would be worse because they would have no representation in the executive arm of the government.
Henceforth me and my household will quit supporting Tinubu's ambition and I will do everything within my power to campaign against him.
I would rather vote Atiku and Okowa, voting Obi is just a futile effort because it is not his time yet.
