How far have we come?

What's your take on this 2019 article, compared to the present? Any upgrades, loops, usuals?

No body big pass Dribble, as good as Wendie Renard, Becky Sauerbrunn, Millie Bright, them da dribble them na cor Alozie who’s playing makeshift.. Ajibade also dribble past Mapi Leon of Barca and Spain this past season during Atletico Madrid Femenino game against Barcelona Femenino. Dribbling is normal but as for Alozie she has done well for herself, is not necessary that you must play same role for Club and Country..

Look at Crystal Dunn of USA for Example, she Plays Left Back for the US, but play Midfield and as a striker for her Clubside North Carolina FC..

Look at Rachel Daly of England, she's mainly a Left or Right Back for England but at Houston Dash she's their no.1 striker..

To me Nicole Payne is a better fullback than Glory, I believe when she start playing pro she would get better and better..!

Defensively she hasn't done bad at all, Glory Ogbonna have been prone to errors. If she was good enough Coach Randy Waldrum wouldn't have played Ashleigh or T Payne at left Back.. Even Nicole Payne who started over her at Left back against Burundi was a better option.

One major issue facing Waldrum on Thursday is what to do with Ashleigh Plumptre.

1. Drop either of Onome Ebi or Osinachi Ohale for her

2. Play 3 center back of Ohale, Ebi and Plumptre

3. Play Plumptre as left back and drop impressive Toni Payne or push her forward

4. Pushing Payne forward means Ordega is dropped (which I doubt) or Ajibade goes to the midfield

5. Ajibade to the midfield means one of Okobi, Rita (shouldn't be starting again),

This is a major decision which will influence a lot of changes and will be key against a fast, and physical Cameroon come Thursday.

What do you think guys?

Option 2 makes more sense... Since both Alozie and Payne can function better as full backs... Ajibade drops to the midfield with Ayinde and Uchiebe... Problem is who partners Onumonu up front? I'd go with Kanu cus of her pace and trickery, but I don't think she and Onumonu know how to play together..They didn't gel well in the game against Burundi..But they really compliment each other IMO....
Ordega can come in the second half...

playing ajibade in the midfield
I don't wanna see that happen again

plumptre should sit on the bench

4&5 is less likely again, compared to the others. Ajibade in midfield is not going to be helpful, especially vs Cameroun. It's not bad if Ashleigh comes on as a sub iMO.

Impossible, Randy won’t play Monday Gift ahead of Francisca Ordega and Uchenna Kanu

Alozie remains Coach Randy first choice at Right Back.. Nicole Payne will deputise for either of the Left or Right Back

Wetin concern me with Randy I have already said this was my lineup.

I will support whoever he selects but that doesn't mean I have to agree with him or anyone else.

Ajibade doesn't need to come to Midfield. She and Kanu (or Gift) can flank Ify on both side.
Ordega can come in as sub. Ordega and Gift (if Kanu starts) against tired defence will peg them back at the last minutes.

Here’s another line up from me…

First one 4-3-3
The second one is more like 3-4-1-2 or 3-5-2

if the coach is not going with 3 at the back, she should be on the bench. If Cameroon want to try any long ball tactic, Walldrum can bring her on.

If you watched the match against Burundi you'll never ever say Ajibade should be moved to midfield..

Ajibade is very productive on the RW.

If Ajibade will be starting on the right wing, then Kanu should start. Ajibade is more of a creative forward so we need a goalscorer at he other side rather than a pure winger. The 4th goal against Burundi is an example of what I'm saying.

Ordega starts as LW while Onumonu starts as ST. Kanu on the bench.

Kanu should enter before the 60th minute for Onumonu.

Kanu missed clear chances against Burundi and Cameroon should not injure her the way South Africa injured Oshoala they can injure Onumonu grin grin

Ajibade got 3 assists from RW through Cutbacks and Crosses. When you have such player on one wing, the other winger must be someone with good positioning and a good goalscorer. Playing Ordega on the other wing will isolate Ify in the box because Ordega is also similar to Ajibade. Setting up a team is not just about names..it is about how the skillsets of each player complement one another.
I just want the win.. anybody that starts is okay for me

LOL. For me, that’s the easiest decision in the world:
- drop Ohale and play Ash in CB.

That's the point.

Ordega is to the LW what Ajibade is to the RW.

So we need a Finisher in the center.

Kanu can start but she must also be substituted before the 60th minute for Onumonu.

Because Cameroon will Target and injure the forwards and the referee will play dumb..

Dropping Osinachi Ohale is definitely going to be a wrong decision from the Coach..

She's the quickest Center Back there and her Long balls from the back is pretty good now, again she's a very physical defender who will be able to handle any physical threat that will be brought by the Cameroonian.. Abam look like their no.1 at top9 she will definitely have it tough against Ohale or Ebi...

This game is coming with pace and power...

Christy Ucheibe and Halimatu Ayinde must start... Chikwelu would have been no.1 for this game because of how strong she is but the problem is the pace is no longer there for her to compete with them...

You don't remove a player from their productive position.

How many times do you see Mo Salah playing LW or Haaland playing as a Winger.

Botswana have fast players, any player will struggle against fast defenders whose midfielders also cover for them.

Why was Mo Salah ineffective against Real Madrid

This is good. Really excited at the number and quality of friendlies the girls have being playing the last few years.

Will like to know though, is Randy Waldrum instrumental to us getting these grade A friendlies or is he not a factor at all?
