We're talking presidential elections though, and as regards the performance of governors, South East states are generally no worse than other states in Nigeria. Things will get better at the state level when power is decentralised and we can't get decentralization by voting in candidates with a history of aggregating power and resources to themselves and their minions.

Jonathan's loss to a candidate that turned out to be an epic failure is an indictment on those who voted and marketed him. Decision-making is a skill, I won't give you the option of choosing between burnt rice and charcoal for a meal and you'd choose charcoal.

It will be funny if Obi gets 80% of SE votes, and anyone still accuses the north of tribalism in terms of voting. I was shocked that when yoruba actors declared support for Tinubu, people were crying tribalism, but if it is an Igbo star declaring support for PO, it is competence, I think it's double standards. it is just convenient, that obidients can use competence to cover the tribal elements of Obi's candidacy.
I don't think tribalism is a bad thing per se, some people's sense of identity starts on a tribal level, so it is easier to trust and identify with someone who is from your tribe.
Call it a flaw of democracy as practiced in Africa if you must, only a few below 20% of the population vote for no sentimental reasons and can fall into the category of educated voters.

Brymo who lyrically is the best vocalist, alongside Asa and happens to be one of naija's most talented artiste this decade with over 7 successful albums endorsed Tinubu, he got dragged and called all sorts of names by Obi supporters. But magically, the likes of Psquare, flavour, and others that endorsed Obi were hailed and praised to the heavens.

Same thing happened when some Yoruba actors visited Tinubu, an igbo cleric -Apostle Kassy Chukwu placed curses on them for their visit to a man that has made major impact in their lives. The Obi supporters cheered on. But when mbaka refused to support their golden boy, what happened? All hell was let loose..

All these noise about toothless Obi doesn't move me.. They just want to smuggle him into power with noise and image cleansing. People have talked about how poverty and unemployment has in the north east has been one of the reasons why Boko Haram was able to recruit some of these guys. Now poverty and unemployment has not been reduced to barest minimum and the government is claiming they have deradicalized the “repentant “ Boko Haram members . What happens the moment they are reintegrated and the same poverty and unemployment is still very much a thing in their respective communities ? No be to enter bush once again ? Yeah I know the government claim they organize skill acquisition programmes where they learn skills like fish farming , carpentery, shoe making etc ….. But who will be their customers when they are back in the society? The same people they killed their sons, fathers and relatives ?

I know things like deradicalization looks good on paper and May have success stories in other countries , but in a country like Nigeria that shiiiit ain’t solving any problem.

I thought we already laid this to rest , a Core buharist like Oasis007 has agreed some of the buhari praise singing he was doing for the past 6 years or more have actually been predicated on misinformation from Alhaji Lie’s desk and those of paid influencers. Even egbon Dayo has tacitly agreed the same Boko Haram he vilified Jonathan for years and called him “the problem” is no longer Jonathan’s brain child but an ideological warfare that is being fueled by poverty , unemployment and high level of illiteracy in the north .
