Nigeria, Italy, Iraq and Afghanistan are a pointer to the fact that a country where people pledge allegiance to tribal leaders and corruption is rife is better ruled by a strong man who will hold the country together, or a confederacy of some sorts that limits the influence of federal power.

I disagree with this, especially Nigeria’s case. We had years of military rule in which we had strongmen like Abacha , IBB , etc rule for years but during and after those years Nigeria’s lot was not anyway better ; in fact those were the years Nigeria began its journey to the failed country status . The so called strong men rather than holding the country together like you are assuming they would actually looted the country so much, wasted the monies we got from booming oil business back then and would rather have money stashed abroad than use it judiciously to set the country on its path to glory .

Like during Abacha’s regime people were cooking with firewood in cities , agitations were on the rise and bombings were happening even in Lagos .

Let me be the first person to say this here.

Labor party will lose today!! I know that when the inevitable happens, the radical tribalist, the chief propagandist and the paid party agent with a soul for hire would want to celebrate the LP loss regardless of whether their own party wins or not.

Logical reasons why the LP would inevitably lose today.

1. The Peter Obi revolution is less than 2 months old which means that while he's well known to more than 95% of the educated demography, the illiterate rural dwellers who are the traditional members of the 2 party's are yet to know Obi very well and his outstanding values, precedence and principles that have won him soo many admirers and supporters and makes him soo easy to sell.

2. Many of Obi's new converts are people who have not voted before and most likely did not have PVC, hence the rush at all INEC centers today but for the people of osun, INEC registration closed more than 5 months ago and they were one of the earliest to have started registration so there is no way for Obi's brand new voters to get their PVCs in the state.

3. Vote buying and selling. This wicked act will ensure victory for one of the big two. The politicians have mastered the act of weaponizing poverty. Make the people soo poor that they rejoice when they see 20 thousand naira and find the offer too irresistible, not minding the long term consequence.

Over the hours, I will repost this over and over again because I predict the enemies of our country who still proudly support failure and wish them upon us will derive pleasure in the loss of their countrymen's futures.

Do you know what makes me sad in all these? You had every chance to just accept that this is not your turf or area of interest and I would have let you off. But lai lai, NLders must prove they know something in an area that they know eff all.

Now let me educate you. The IRS Special agent Moss did not bring a complaint. He was the leading witness in BATs case because he is the guy who specializes in money laundering as it involves narcotics.

The state was trying to get Akande etc and knew that getting the person who was helping launder money for them would help. That person, the suspect, was BAT. Since, to them, BAT only came in when it was time to launder the money, they got this IRS agent to review his accounts and let them know if he saw anything suspicious. He did. That is why the court paper says he presented an affidavit. Read up on affidavits. The person bringing the complaint or plaintiff is not Agent Moss. That person is the district attorney or DA and his name is Michael J Shepard. Ask anyone with a working knowledge of the US or the law. They'll tell you that it is the DA that is the plaintiff in cases like these.

The DA would also have presented a DEA agent as his leading witness in the case of the other guys. The only reason you are not reading so much about that person is because the state could not prove BATs direct involvement in selling the drugs itself. In fact, they could not prove his involvement in terms of laundering. If they did, BAT would have forfeited more than 460K. He would have lost the other 1M as well as done jail time.

Stop arguing like some incorrigible troll. Come on, this is 2022. Evidence is attached.

Lmao, you want to use semantics because I wrote “brought” grin Have you ever seen a law enforcement agent acting as plaintiff attorney in a criminal case? So of course, it had to be the DA that will represent the state.

They had already gotten Agbele since 1990 and he sang like a canary bird, exposing the whole network. That’s how Tinubu got into the mix.

Why are you telling me that they could not prove Tinubu’s direct involvement in selling the drugs when I have constantly said I am not accusing Tinubu of selling drugs?

If they could not prove that the money is linked to the drugs, why are they seizing the money pursuant to a clause that explicitly makes mention of drugs? It was you that posted that evidence oh.

Now this is u seeing things in clear reality like some of us have done since . The voting bloc in rural areas (which outnumbers those in the cities ) will be the reason Peter Obi can’t compete with the two leading political parties. People only know about the broom and umbrella party in those areas, it will take more than a year before election year for u to have it ingrained it in such people’s mind that there’s a third force led by Peter Obi.

It’s just unfortunate nothing will change with either Tinubu or Atiku in power . None of those two will move this country forward beyond where it is now . This is the sad reality

I refuse to be that pessimistic.
Furthermore, numbers prove your assertion wrong.

Urban center dwellers always dwarf the number of rural settlers. In Benue state for example, the population in markurdi and gboko will dwarf the population of 5 rural local governments combined.

The problem as I've stated before is that Nigeria has always had a very large voting apathy problem. Not enough people vote!! Only 1 in 9 people voted in the last elections. Just 15% of the entire population. Statistically, just adding 7% more (8 million votes) to that number is enough to cause an upset.
And I believe that that situation is about change very drastically come February next year.
Only one candidate is inspiring new voters. Only one candidate is inspiring enthusiasm and whenever that happens in an election, there is usually a seismic change in the system in different ways. In 2015, a 2 party system was born. It's about to be a 3 party system next year.

In case you didn't know, labor party now boasts one senator from imo state and 9 house of rep members from Benue, abia, Enugu and imo state.

Most of these companies do graduate trainee almost on a yearly basis . Nothing has changed.

As regards people resigning , u will be surprised that some of these services firm end up not replacing everyone who left……. Some are using 2 people to do 5 men job while trying to cut overhead costs like cost of diesel , etc. If the economy was good and people were resigning enmasse, it would’ve been a good one for graduates to get opportunities; but the companies while seeing the mass resignation are unwilling to recruit new intakes at that rate in a bid to reduce their expenses and balance their books

Eventually, they will be forced to employ or will fold up. We had the same issue where I work. Initially they were reassigning and using one person to do more jobs. It got to a point it was no longer working and now they have employed more hands.

The funny thing is, more are still leaving. Three guys are proceeding on leave by Monday and none of them is coming back.

I have not seen this kind of mass exodus before.

https://www.nairaland.com/7230836/interesting-transfiguration-ipob-member#up

This attempt to link IPOB to Peter Obi is laughable at best. I remember when you people were trying to link Obi with killing ipob members in ezu river, now you are trying to link him to them by all means possible. cheesy

And looking at the matter in-depthly ask yourself, why did ipob come about? And when did the movement become tainted with violence? Don't forget that in 2017, the movement wasn't violent in anyway. That changed about 3 years ago.

And to summarily put it, if people who were violent for a cause suddenly laid down their arms to clamor for a better nigeria, to abandon their plans of agitations for succession and now buy into a national agenda, isn't this supposed to be glamorized rather than used to mock them?

Don't you like that people that used to make noise about breaking up Nigeria, which you you personally didn't support are not doing that anymore but talking about getting involved In a national political project, doesn't this show you that all along, these people just wanted to feel a sense of belonging in the country?? Don't you understand the symbolism of a Peter Obi presidency to those people? The imagery of acceptance of an Igbo president at long last after more than 50 years of national marginalization?

No igbo man has smelt the top for the last 50 years despite being one of the top 3 tribes in the country. This would mean a lot symbolically for all these IPOB agitators.

And don't forget that IPOB is not the only secessionist group in Nigeria. There is ijaw nation secessionist group and there is Oduduwa republic secessionist group which an able member here is a part of and was seen drafting genocidal plans in one such group.

This is not true. I presently do not have Benue state data which u used as an example to prove ur point , but I will try to lay my hands on it and post it when I do.

Attached is the data from Nigerian Bereau of statistics showing that the number of rural dwellers in Akwa Ibom dwarfs that of urban dwellers .

I cannot lay claim to knowing how all the states in Nigeria are structured , but one just needs to objectively look at the number of LGA’s/cities that can be referred to as urban area and juxtapose it with those that are rural areas, u will know the rural areas are bound to have more people live in them.

Attached is Lagos State LGA’s population figures , Just look at Alimosho that is on the outskirts of Lagos boasting of 11million , compare it to figures of “main Lagos” that comprises of LGA’s like Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland , Ibeju-Lekki, Surulere , Eti-Osa.

Lagos is clearly an anomaly, it is a megalopolis. It is a mega city which continually drives population from all around to it.
The below average workers that work in the city would go and live in those rural areas and shuttle from there. This is very different from other states. All parts of Lagos are heavily populated and saturated. You can not use Lagos statistics when talking about population distribution because it's clearly a different situation.

The Lagos situation will be very different from a bayelsa situation or an ekiti state situation.
In Anambra state the population of people in it's major cities, Onitsha, awka, and nnewi would make up 60% of the entire population of the state.

The problem here is u are not showing any verifiable stat/data to back this up .

I have attached screenshots showing that population in rural areas in states like Bayelsa and Benue actually dwarfs those of the major cities .

I think u can go through the link and check Anambra and other state’s population distribution as per the 2011 Annual Abstaract of statistics as provided by NPC and published by NBS https://istmat.org/files/uploads/53129/annual_abstract_of_statistics_2011.pdf

Honestly U make a lot of sense here. I always find it distasteful when I engage people offline and they boldly say Igbo will not smell the presidency in a mocking way . I mean how do u not allow this people rule, feel a sense of belonging and the same time u will not allow them have their own country where they can have a say directly in their own affairs.

In Nigeria of today, the Hausa/Fulani see themselves as the key decision makers that must be consulted before any key decision is made . The Yorubas always position themselves to have a major say as well when state matters are concerned . The Igbos are not adequately represented maybe partly due to their own actions and inactions in the past , but majorly due to the fact that major tribes do not rate them .

Personally I think Nigeria is not one and the tribes do not love themselves like that . If we do , we won’t have so much agitations going on at once and even when the agitators want to do away with their agitations they are still not welcome

I honestly cannot understand the rationale behind trying to mock IPOB supporters who now support Obi.

These people have legitimate reasons to feel that they've been marginalized in national affairs and want their own country, (remember, many other groups also seek the break up of Nigeria), you refuse to grant them their wish of secession.

Now they are dropping their secessionist agenda and rallying towards a national project. Are you not supposed to be happy that they are now getting involved in Nigerian affairs and dropping their previous agenda which you didn't like before??

A reminder that every single human being knows that labor has no chance in today's election. Osun state ended their voters registration soo many months ago. This newly reborn labor party had no hand in the selection of lasun. The present labor candidate. That's why the Peter Obi movement is enticing. It represents a people oriented movement. This was a movement spurred by the people. Peter Obi decamped from the PDP because he saw that his support online was ballooning and people he didn't even know were resting their hopes on him to run, even outside the establishment.

People let's give this a try. Let's see if we can send a seismic shock to the establishment.

Imagine a tiny party that had just 5000 votes in the last election suddenly winning with 15 million votes.
Votes from you and i, votes from people who have never voted before, people who simply didn't care, market women and traders who never bothered to lock up shop to thumbprint for politicians suddenly waking up and seeing that we had the numbers to achieve this.

It's enticing to the average masses.

Arguing in the face of stubborn facts is nothing but delusional grandeur.

In secular politics morality is an oxymoron the two don't mix.

Trust is earned not given. You don't blackmail people to trust you, you have to prove yourself to be trustworthy to earn the trust of others.

Politics is game of persuasion and not intimidation, your gains depend on how well you're able to position yourself to gain from the spoils of politics.

As expected the APC and PDP are way ahead of the others in the Osun guber election.

It was definitely too late for Labour to make any significant inroads in the Ekiti and Osun elections within 2 months, as evidenced by the fact that Labour Party had no agents in 70% of the Osun polling units.
But, don’t discount them in next year’s elections cos the party would have had more time to strategize and get themselves organized.
