majorbravo:Hello. Most of the information you need can be found online. Generally, you apply through TLS in Dublin 9. Submit an online application, pay the fees and then book an appointment for biometrics and submission of your documents. How long it takes is dependent on whether you are applying for standard, priority or super priority visa. Note that the decision period of each visa category is stated on their website. In addition, given the number of years you have previously lived in the UK, it is not out of place if you apply for 5 years or even 10 years visit visa. Your current status in Ireland could make a difference on the length of years you can get. Cheers. 1 Like |

niyogeol:Wow this is very detailed. Thank you loads. Please when you say my current status in Ireland, do you mean what visa I’m currently on? Could you throw some more light? I’m on an employment visa, I’ll get my GNIB in August. |

Hi, Please did your work visa take exactly 8 weeks before you got it, if no, please can you give me a rough estimate of how long it took quote author=majorbravo post=114799659]Hi everyone, please for those who have visited UK from Ireland, know someone who has, or lived there before moving, please help me answer this. So I recently moved to Ireland from Nigeria for work, but have lived in UK for a long time (8+ years) and would like to go to UK to visit friends. I understand I may need a visit visa for that. How do I apply for a UK visit visa from Ireland as a Nigerian and how long would the process take? Costs? And also how many months/years visa do you think I would get on it? [/quote] |
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by ICaSNg(f): 12:59am On Jul 17, 2022 |
majorbravo: If your stay in the UK at the time was legitimate all through - go for the 2 years visa straight up if you have the funds available - 2 years visiting visa is 376 pounds ; 6 months is 100 pounds ; You will need to show you have strong reasons to return to Ireland e.g. a confirmation letter from your school with details of the duration of ur program etc. ; if on a work permit a letter from your employer , payslips etc. - finally 3 to 6 months bank statement showing enough funds. https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor/apply-standard-visitor-visa |

ICaSNg:Thanks a lot for your reply and yes it was all legit. In these 2 years, can I enter and leave multiple times as I please, or is there some restriction of some sort? cos I read on their site (screenshot below) something to do with not for frequent visits. Like how long or frequent could be considered living a long period of time?

Hello Everyone, Is it still possible to apply for Edubond after visa has been approved? If yes, what option do I pick for Edubond on the Tradesystems website? How long after I get to Ireland will the Edubond funds be released to me? Also do I have to be vaccinated or a Covid test result is enough? Thank you 1 Like |

majorbravo: Maximum stay in the UK on a visitor's visa is 6 months irrespective of the duration of visa you have , you should not spend more than 6 months at each entry period |

Dear Nairalanders, I need your urgent advise. I saw that my visa application was approved last last week through the weekly visa decision report from the embassy of Ireland in Abuja. Please how soon can I have my passport back? I need to travel on Thursday. Any advise on how I can retrieve my passport from the embassy will be appreciated. |

Tiry87: Your employer is the person to apply for your work permit. Be careful so you don't get scammed. Any company in Ireland that is eligible to hire a foreigner, knows the protocols and process. 1 Like |

honTim: Relax, your passport will be sent via UPS to the address you provided, when the visa sticker is placed on your passport. There is a fraction of time between the approval time and the time sticker is placed on your passport and sent out. Best scenario is to hold travel plans till you receive your passport 2 Likes 1 Share |

Adaobiada: Hello Adaobiada, I don't know about Edubond . For your covid19 related question, you don't need to be vaccinated. Covid19 Cert or Negative Covid19 Test certificate is no longer a requirement to traveI to Ireland ,however, check if it is a requirement to travel from Nigeria. I remember in January, passengers were required to upload proof of vaccination/negative covid19 result taken within 48hours prior to departure when checking in online and also show copy before boarding from Nigeria airport. Please, see latest update from gov.ie about Travelling to Ireland From Sunday 6 March 2022, travellers to Ireland are not required to show proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative PCR test result upon arrival. There are no post-arrival testing or quarantine requirements for travellers to Ireland. Any individual that develops COVID-19 symptoms while in Ireland should follow the HSE guidance in relation to isolation and undertaking antigen or PCR testing as appropriate. https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/77952-government-advice-on-international-travel/#travelling-to-ireland I hope this clarifies your covid19 related question. Kind regards, Louis 1 Like |

Good day house, Please I would like to apply for education bond and I would like to know what documents to submit. Apart from the payment instruction from education bond, admission letter, passport and degree certificate, is there any other document I would need to submit for my form A to be approved? |

Tiry87:Your employer should apply and pay for the work permit on your behalf. I too had to check all of that information for them, luckily they had some persons who had gone through similar in the past when relocating to Ireland, so any changes to the system were not much. Though the time taken before these permits are issued could be a bummer. The work permit to apply for would depend on if you are employed as a critical skills worker (which means you would require a critical skills permit) or a general skills worker (a general work permit). The differences in rules and timelines for each of these types of permits differ significantly and are quite comprehensive. So I would enjoin you to visit Irishimmigration.iE website to know where your role belongs; on the Home Screen click on this (pictured below; choose work), you will get all the information you need by following the prompts and answering the questions. You can provide this information from the site to your employer. As for the visa, you will have to apply in Nigeria by yourself after you have obtained your work permit. 3 Likes 1 Share

Navaroooo: I think the first thing you should consider is your budget? 2. how does your current academic qualifications and future aspirations align with the particular business course 3. look for schools within your budget offering your intended course 4. Apply 5. write Duolingo - English test for visa application purpose - its just 49 USD |

I don’t know if this is coming late but for the benefit of others, if you’re a student below 30 years, travel with Qatar airways. When you register on their site as a student, you are allowed to carry 23kg x3 luggage. michealekene: 1 Like |

I have a visa ban from Canada. Will it affect my application if I want to apply for visa to Ireland for postgraduate? Do they share informations like UK? I will appreciate a sincere answer. |
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by semmyk(m): 6:54pm On Jul 23, 2022 |
The reason for the ban would be considered especially for dishonesty. However, it shouldn't be the decider. What is a NO NO is not disclosing the ban. That will lead to Irish denial and ban. Rather disclose and make representation. That's how I understand it. Others would have hands-on experience or insights. All the best. ubom123: 1 Like |

I was denied usa visa twice in 2018, when I wanted to apply for an ireland visa most people said I shouldn't disclose it but I said honesty is the best policy. Besides, I now have documents that have made their denials look irrelevant now. To the glory of God, my Irish visa was approved this month for my postgraduate studies. So, please disclosed it and perhaps write a letter of yours to explain why the denial happen and ways that show you are more eligible now. ubom123: 2 Likes |
