Hahahahahaha, if say na for Naija aregbeshola go dey form Jagaban.
After damaging the country they sneak away to enjoy life outside while people are dying of hunger and insecurity.

That's why tinubu and Atiku always stay indoors whenever they are out of the country.
This one wants to form Peter Obi.

This is stalking! A childish one at that.

Aregberascal should have just called the police on him.

Nigerian politicians take precautions not to draw attention when outside of Nigeria for this very reason. They know that if they’re recognized by one of their countrymen or anyone else, they may be asked questions or shamed and they can’t have the person beaten and thrown in jail. When they visit the US, they move about as quiet as mice.

Not true, you can record a person in a public place, what you do with that recording is an entirely different thing

That was not a public space but in a private restaurant. The restaurant owners actually have the right not just to stop him from recording, but to call the cops to escort him out of the premises.

I wish the politicians learn from this.

You are no body outside nigeria.

The restaurant is inside of a hotel. Recordings are common in these establishments and most have little to no policy against it (YouTube vloggers and paparazzi do it daily). The person recording was well within his rights. If the proprietors would’ve asked him to leave the premises, he could’ve stood outside and started recording again the second the politician stepped foot outdoors.

Wonderfully worded.
I am not supporting how he behaved but his right to film
Aregbe should have ignored him
The guy sounded like a frustrated idiot
One problem many commentators have is a tendency to take sides and not see nuances
Personally I will not film someone against their wish because I won't like it done to me but the law allows it and it is a useful right in public spaces for crime investigation
e.g . the Police killing of Floyd/

If somebody starts following a persong filming and making commentary calling the subject gay, gay ,nigger etc . That is a problem. BUT
They are SEPARATE issues

The filming
The abuse and should be seen as such

Of course. His manner was not very productive and I would’ve done things differently. However, I’m not a Nigerian citizen who has been negatively impacted by greedy politicians so this guy is entitled to his feelings.

In law a public place is a place to which the public have access.

What do you mean by private restaurant? Invitation only?

I am not a fan of the minister, neither am I supporter of mediocrity.

Biden is recorded all the time. Anyone can record him out and about. He was even recorded falling off his bicycle and neither the president nor the Secret Service demanded the person’s phone as this guy tried doing. How does this foreign politician feel he is above the Secret Service or US president?

he was lucky Aregberascal does not know the law. The ex governor can actually seize that phone and smash it on the floor, and the court will support him. He has every right to his privacy.

If I were the governor, I will bring out my own phone and record him too. Then I will whisper to him that his video would be sent to the DSS and SARS, who would pick up members of his family, particularly his mother, in Nigeria and make life horrible for them. That would reset his "this is America" brains .

NB: is not like I support theiving governors, but that does not mean I should violate his foundamental human rights unduly

Another brilliant soul spotted.

As an American lawyer, I’ll tell you that the police or security wouldn’t have done anything because the person broke no laws.

As an American, are you insinuating that you can heckle me, invade my private space and disturb my peace and the police wouldn't do anything? Will a private business (the restaurant) allow one of their customers to be harrased and their security won't be able to throw the offending party out because the person broke no laws?

I am saying that if you and I are both here in America in public, as long as I don’t touch you or restrict your movement, I can rightfully record you. The restaurant is in a public place. There is no such thing as privacy in public spaces.

Poverty and ignorance are the only options that will make anyone behave like that in the public. If the ass can help your life, lick it and lick it well. Even here abroad, politically backed businesses perform well.

Your life in the zoo is to always think in personal terms, instead of in the 'collective'.

This is how animals think. (PS Im not calling anyone an animal). But an animals only thinks of what he can put in its stomach. That's all that matters. Developed humans think beyond that on how they can preserve their race, culture, humanity etc. Its called sacrifice.

Black people only think of to eat, sh*t and have sex. That's why other races have developed and left them behind.

Other races also think of "food, shit and sex". In fact, they can do anything to achieve those things that you mentioned. It is evident in the history of Africa that the races that you see as God, came to Africa to eat, sex and shit.

I have travelled wide, and I know.

Get a life? You think everybody back home is cursed because they are back home?

Very funny!
Presently, I am in Warri with my kids and wife and my business is doing well both in Warri and Port Harcourt. By Monday I will join them back in Port Harcourt and it continues like that.

I built my life without help from anybody. Lots of friends in diaspora but I have and will never ask anyone for any form of assistance. Again, my level of superiority complex can never allow me envy them.

With lots of you guys it's only obvious you are in a developed country but your reasoning has refused to develop. A clear case of taking the boy out of the village but not been able to take the village out of the boy.

I don't hold brief for Aregbesola as he might be one of the corrupt officials in Nigeria but then he should be allowed to eat. Live and let live is my philosophy.

Young Nigerians must spend less energy on unnecessary drama and respect people's privacy. Why harass Aregbesola? You have made your point why hassle him? This is not right. The minister even proved a gentleman by inviting him to sit with him, why couldn't he seize the opportunity to make his grievances known? Why not take the opportunity to blast him on the sleaze happening in the embassies and passport offices? This young man is very stewpid and has wasted the opportunity to make a case for good governance.

Shame.

I disagree that a restaurant is a public space in the true sense of the word. It's a private business. No one customer has the right to disturb another customer. I run a business open to the public. Any unruly customer disturbing another customer will be thrown out.

Even in a public space, there is something called personal space bubble. You are not allowed to invade my personal space.

Personally, I hate strangers getting too close to me.
