1stGenAmerican: If the law in America was that he could record anyone he saw why didn't he stand up to it then? There was a time C Ronaldo was walking after a bad match a Yeye fan was bringing his camera close. C Ronaldo simply stumped on it and walked away. You think he didn't know the law? |

To those saying the young man should’ve sat and asked him questions in a reasonable manner, I ask you this:if the politician was in Nigeria and the guy would’ve approached him reasonably seeking answers and explanations, do you think the politician would’ve treated him with respect and entertained his questions/concerns? I doubt it. From the outside looking in, Nigerian politicians appear to have a culture of treating their constituents as their subjects, making themselves unapproachable unless it’s election time. Once again, they work for the people, not the other way around. |

1stGenAmerican: I have not seen how how American politicians are harrased and heckled by strangers. What I have seen is journalists questioning public officials (sometimes aggressively)in the course of doing their jobs while at the same time avoid insulting or heckling them. Security of public officers would not even allow strangers close to them. |
Re: "You Can Not Record Me" Aregbesola Spotted "Arguing" With Nigerian In America by 1stGenAmerican(f): 10:16am On Jul 17, 2022 |
lovinagbad: A citizen recorded a policeman killing a man in America and that recording led to the policeman going to prison. This has happened more than once but never did you hear the police demanding that the person recording give them their phone. I don’t know why these guys think the guy being recorded here is immune to things Americans aren’t. |

hrykanu231:don't get me wrong bro, I don't like politicians in general, all am trying to say is dat he should have left the man alone when he was clearly displeased. Haba the man was just trying to eat. |
Re: "You Can Not Record Me" Aregbesola Spotted "Arguing" With Nigerian In America by 1stGenAmerican(f): 10:18am On Jul 17, 2022 |
wirinet: You seem to have very little knowledge about America because people literally hurl foul words at politicians while recording regularly. Donald Trump was publicly called a b*tch on numerous occasions and the Secret Service just kept him moving along. As long as they don’t make threats of injury or bodily harm, the politician and his/her security keeps moving. |

Re: "You Can Not Record Me" Aregbesola Spotted "Arguing" With Nigerian In America by wirinet(m): 10:20am On Jul 17, 2022 |
1stGenAmerican: Please quit comparing the recording of a person from a distance to someone sticking his phone in your face, shouting "this is America". To me that's provocation. Even the people recording policemen do it from a distance. |
Re: "You Can Not Record Me" Aregbesola Spotted "Arguing" With Nigerian In America by 1stGenAmerican(f): 10:23am On Jul 17, 2022 |
wirinet: The politician obviously felt different than the way you feel. Once again, he knows that the things he would try with citizens in Nigeria would not work in America. He knows American law just as well as we Americans do. He only demanded the phone because he thought the guy still had the mindset that politicians are above everyone else. |

1stGenAmerican: You are good at deflecting and muddling issues. I hope that's not how you argue your case in court. What most people are complaining about is not necessarily the recording or even the insults, but the invasion of Aregbesola's personal space. We are saying it's provocation the way he walked up to him, stick a camera to his face and starting making provocative remarks. |

Re: "You Can Not Record Me" Aregbesola Spotted "Arguing" With Nigerian In America by 1stGenAmerican(f): 10:27am On Jul 17, 2022 |
wirinet: You’re moving goalposts. First, it was an invasion privacy and once it was determined that there is no privacy in public spaces, you moved on to personal space. Freedom of speech was on the side of the person recording and the person being recorded had the right to say whatever he felt like saying in return as long as it wasn’t a threat of injury or bodily harm. Goodbye. |
Re: "You Can Not Record Me" Aregbesola Spotted "Arguing" With Nigerian In America by wirinet(m): 10:33am On Jul 17, 2022 |
1stGenAmerican: Where will you even see a Nigerian politician to talk to? With the layers of Mobile policemen, DSS, aides, assistants, etc. That still does not justify provocation when you do have the opportunity to close contact with them. I prefer we carry out our advocacy and fights intellectually and rationally instead of violence, insults and emotions which will achieve nothing. 1 Like |

wirinet:Saw the video .He did not stick a video in his face and the distance between them was at least arm's length. Aregbesola at some point MOVED closer to him to block the camera. Yes it was generally provocative and offensive BUT lawful. There is no law relating to invasion of private space. The only possibility here is harassment. I think the encounter was too short for that to stand 1 Like |

1stGenAmerican:I am shock at the quality of your arguments. When we talk of privacy, we are not even about the location, but private/personal space. That's why I attached the screenshot of what I mean by private/personal space. You stubbornly keep talking about a restaurant being a public space. Then you go on interpreting freedom of speech yo mean you can hurl insults at others, which I explained to you can be termed provocation
