The controversy generated by that Kogi election informed the new provision in the Electoral Act 2022, that in the event that anything happens to a flagbearer, his running mate will inherit the ticket and votes where applicable.

So, a Yahaya Bello will never happen again in Nigerian politics.

James Faleke would have been the governor of Kogi but APC exploited a loophole that existed in the 2010 electoral act but that loophole has been blocked.

That is not true, till swearing in is done, if Tinubu should die today though I don’t wish death on any man no matter how bad, Ameachi will be the one to contest, even if elections are concluded from presedent if Tinubu won, Ameachi will be the one to take over, after swearing in shetima can be the acting president, if anything happens. But God forbid APC wins again.
