You may right anyways, because there's less competition in African player market nowadays. Before, Africa continent had great players and the competition use to be so intense...

Sadio Mane is an excellent player on and off the ball. Able to make defence splitting passes and dangerous crosses. Knows when to stray out wide and when to cut in middle. Great at both left and right foot. Versatile overall, able to drift into CAM and CF during the absence of Firmino.

The thing about Mane that stands out for me is that all his attributes that make him a good player, comes from his teammates. He will be my definition of “Team Player”. Sure, he doesn’t have a range of tricks like Neymar or close control like Messi, but he can make runs like no other. Mane’s off the ball work rate is outstanding. He can play both directly and indirectly. Most importantly, he is able to track back and help with the defence when needed.

When Mane is playing with a team with players like Firmino and Salah, he can only be so good. He is only as good as the team he will be playing. He definitely isn’t a game changer, but he isn’t too quiet either. I would not say he is overrated, but I would not say he is underrated as well.

Anyway, this answer is my personal opinion.

in 2008 emmanuel adebayor was awarded the african player award even when he didn't deserve it. Arsenal went trophyless that year. It was supposed to be given to abutrika of egypt.... Now you know caf is not pure.
