LagosismyHome: Hi LagosismyHome, I am so glad to find you here. You have been so consistent for about 10 years in providing so badly needed answers on travels. Although I did my masters in the UK, I know more about US environment. UK study visa fee is now significantly higher. I led my friend into this and the school in London not knowing things have changed since I last went there. And living is London is so crazily expensive. Do they pay workers higher in London than the other cities? |

Seniors in the house, I have a question please…. Is “terrific for 2” some kind of public funds as well?? Or Do I just need to wait until my son is 3 years before I can enroll him under funded method, because as it is now, we have been paying almost £300 pounds a month for our little boy to just visit school 2 times a week ( Half Day ). Panda player users, does anyone have problems logging in on Virgin media broadband? My login worked in the US, but alll the login I've tried in the UK has been invalid or expired. I'm beginning to suspect my broadband provider is blocking access. @lexusgs430 any insights? |

MadeMen4Life: Are you in England or Scotland. If England, terrific for two is a public fund as you need to be beneficiary of one of those benefits like job seeker allowance, universal credit etc to be eligible. Nursery in the UK is not cheap. yours is even better at £300. We pay £260 for our 3 year old monthly (40% discount and 15 hours universal funding inclusive) for only attending nursery 2ce a week. You may have to wait till he is 3 to take the universal 15 hours. I don't know how it operates in Scotland. |

You may want to check the parenting in the UK thread; possibly get great responses from the like of Fatima4, Lagosismyhome, Mamatukwas... Unlike 3-4yrs first 15hrs Universal Entitlement ), seemly 2yrs (for 2's) has all the shades of 'public fund'. Perhaps you contact your council or even the Nursery to ascertain eligibility. As it looks, a typical students visa will not. [picked at random: for Wolverhampton] early-help-support-parents.wolverhampton.gov.uk/apply/tft MadeMen4Life:

I know 7KEYS ALLADIN is Very common in Nigeria to treat such as I had called NHS and the local doctor. It is long story of take PCM and it will go. Some african (Nigerian) shops do sell some of these stuffs. Is there anyone who knows a naija shop that sells 7keys Alladin and can help me courier it today. I am desperately in need as NY face and entire body is badly affected. I ordered one from Nako General Foods. Paid on 19th and till now, the items have not been shipped. Terrible. Mayflowa: There is something called "London weighting" which is basically extra pay some employers provide for London based staff, but depending on the job and the payscale, it may or may not be negligible in the light of cost of living. 1 Like |

Mayflowa: Good to see you here Some employers have uplift for London but a lot don't....so really for people on a lower salary especially minimum wage, it just punishment to stay in London. .... you have more money in the pocket after expenses if you are in a cheaper town. Even those on a higher salary, if you are outside London that better, more money to your pocket . 1 Like |
